Fun fact: it was Madoka's VA voicing that crayon-familiar thing. In the commentary she brings it up and it's pretty cute. She says something along the lines of "Oh, right, I did the voice for that thing! I was all like EUgHHAAAAAEEEEE!"

While the Individual Magical Girls don't have "code names". Their costumes are VERY reminiscent of various Magical Girl and Adjacent properties.
Mami was Cure Pine from one of the Precures
Madoka's is pretty obviously based on Cardcaptor Sakura's.
Sayaka's is VERY "Magic Knight Rayearth" (technically NOT Magical girl, but "adjacent").
Homura looks like "Fate Stay Night" (and is just as dark). The Nasuverse got a Magical Girl Show a few years after Madoka Came out.
Kyoko (or Kyouko, depends on the Romanization), is the hardest to match (other than she shares her name with a similar non-magic heroine's mother). Best description, it's a Goth Loli take on Lyrical Nanoha (spear and "full length duster" costume).

Fun fact, in the first movie they change the type of food Kyoko eats when she fights Sayaka

It's great seeing how much you love Madoka herself and find her precious! She actually got a lot of hate during the show's run since people complained about her not becoming a magic girl and compared her to Shinji from Evangelion, "doing nothing but crying and whining".
Both Shinji and madoka are such great characters that really make sense in the context of the story, I can totally see people who don’t get shinji not sympathizing with madoka haha
god, the fight between sayaka and kyoko is so intense and cool. it's one of my favorite scenes in the show because it's a clash between ideologies of magical girldom (and life in general)! by this point the show has put SO much work into each character's viewpoint, so it makes sense that the second act of the story is about everyone clashing against another in the aftermath of mami's death.
one other detail i really like: sayaka's fighting style this episode is super flashy, especially when fighting the familiar. you can absolutely tell how much she's trying to live up to mami's legacy... and how since she wasn't there for mami's small breakdown in episode 3, she never got to see mami's vulnerable side. as you point out, sayaka's definitely putting on an act of being The Hero.
I also love how Sayaka took inspiration in Mami when she summons a bunch of swords and throws them one by one, similar to Mami doing it with her rifles!
Like, it's actually kinda REALLY sus how frequently and when Kyubey pushes her to make a contract. Something's up with that contract. Like, not only risk of death, because Homura seems to not be afraid of that.
I'm guessing there's a SERIOUS consequence to making a contract, and maybe the wish is like a double-edged sword and you pay for it in some way.

Spoilers are shitty but the show is over 10 years old, and many people older fans & new fans have been talking a lot about the series ever since the announcement of the 4th movie. Should I feel bad if I post on my instagram my Nendoroid of Homura from the rebellion movie and someone that hasn’t finished the show sees it?Should I feel bad if I post rumors of the 4th movie on my instagram stories or share fan art while many people just discover Madoka? I mean people are allowed to talk about it. Sure spoiling the ending in her comment section is a dick move but I haven’t seen anyone doing that.
@@Lore-gb7gw I was only talking about people who watch her videos and would post in her comment section. Some fans like to hint at upcoming developments and bring up spoilers in conversations on the videos of someone who's clearly still watching the show, without any awareness that it could be bad for the uploader's experience with the show. Some fans have a tighter definition of what a spoiler is and end up freely talking about lighter spoilers that aren't character deaths or shocking twists and reveals. And in the end some people just have no consideration for others, but those are few. I think it's always a good idea for anyone who cares about spoilers to stop reading their comment sections, since you can't rely on people understanding or agreeing.
My stance on spoilers anywhere else is very simple - if you're posting somewhere that has a spoiler tag and you're not using it when talking about spoilers, it's on you. If not, it sucks but that's just how it is.

also, if you enjoy good transformations i recommend checking out the two recap movies after finishing the 12 episodes. they basically just recap the anime but swap out the basic transformations for longer, fancier ones since the budget was higher.
I wonder if u will watch Puella Magi Madoka Magica Rebellion. It's the third movie. The first and second movie are actually just the series, so everything u would watch in the first and second movie will be the things u watched in the series, but more detailed I think. The third movie, so Rebellion, is a continuation of the first and second, so in other words a continuation of the series

If you love the sceneries you should definitely check out the movies afterwards if you have time. They go all out on budget with the movies.
Beginnings and Eternal almost feel like remakes to me
The movies are good but they cut out a lot of plot and character development-especially Sayaka’s arc in this and upcoming episodes. Animation is gorgeous though

I wouldn't really call Sayaka's gift selfless. She did it because SHE couldn't stand watching him in pain. And instead of trying to help him through it so he could adapt grow into (possibly) a better person, she just removed the obstacle all together.

I really do hope that once you finish you watch the movie and then the prequel show Magia Record. Obviously you could be done with the series after the movie, but the show Magia Record really adds a lot to the series despite people's somewhat distant for the show not being a carbon copy of madoka. They treated it like all of it was filler despite them going a different narrative route with how they dealt with problems and the different character dynamics. Nothing will beat the of group The Holy Quintet or the original show and movie. But bashing a show just because it's a little different than what were used to watching and it's not "as dark" as this is kind of upsetting.
I agree that Magia Record is a fun spin-off, I don’t know how far Imani wants to go after she finishes the show but she should check out a couple of Manga spin-off’s like Wraith Arc that gives so many new elements to the story.

And I understand people didn't like that the ending didn't match with the games. But the show literally kept what orginal creators perfect ending was? So I don't understand how it's "filler" when none of it was filler

How do you know that concerning Sayaka? Did you watch the rest of the episodes in advance? Are you pre-recording these and then publishing them? Or are you talking about how Sayaka went from episode 1 up till now?
I watch a few episodes per recording session then I release vids once a week. Im currently ahead by several episode in real time!
