Magical girl anime and henshin hero shows both have way too many items modelled after modern tablets and cell phones these days. Bring back the buttons and cranks.
Precure thankfully still keeps giving us some neat stuff Sure they do have the occasional phone transformation items but the majority of time their different things :3💖
Eh, it makes sense when you think about it. Generally, you'd like to camouflage your gear or make it usable for more than just transforming (communicating, research, etc.)
PreCure had two seasons where the tablets and cellphones were used as transformation items: Hugtto PreCure and Doki Doki PreCure. I’m not counting the phone from the Yes! PreCure 5 GoGo season, because that was more of a flip phone and not the cellphone we have today. I get your point about the tablets and phones as transformation items, but as long as they’re well designed and fits with a certain theme of the anime series, then it’s doable. I think one of the live action magical girl series had a video game theme, with the transformation items being based on handheld video games, like Nintendo 3DS, Gameboys and more. Honestly, I’m waiting for the day that a magical girl anime series is made with a video game theme, or one with an artists/cartoonists theme or whatever. The possibilities are endless when it comes to magical girl anime.

Depends tbh. Just because you see a lot of adults complain doesn't mean like 90% of the sales are from children who aren't going to keep it for a long time. Maybe they could invest in higher quality collector versions though but that'd be a financial risk too.
And my god, I see what you mean about the Motto transformation, it's fun and poppy, but the Sharp transformation is too good to me. The clacking of what I've always associated with the castanholas as they hit and transform is nothing short of amazing and iconic.
if an old toy is sticky, it’s likely that the plasticizer is leaking. if you’re up to it, washing it off every time it gets sticky should help, but as far as i know there is no way to permanently fix this. this can spread to other toys though, so it’s best practice to keep sticky toys like this away from other toys so their plasticizer doesn’t leak. feel free to do your own research as there is lots of information about plasticizer on the internet!!
I understand that small removable parts are troublesome in terms of collecting older items, but those have always been the main appeal for me when it comes to these things. The rhythm tap and Hana's compact having those little removable seeds is SUCH a big allure for me. I've almost gotten other versions of those toys before, but because I couldn't tell if those bits were removable I didn't wanna risk it. Since like, that's kind of the entire magic for me personally.
I remember having the candy can wand, sadly, it was not durable and broke the minute one of my relatives stepped on it. RIP the best wand from my childhood.😢
I'm so happy that the Kururu Pollon found it's way safely to you!! I was just WAITING for you to bring up the water filled pact. My other doremi collector friend was distressed with how much a nightmare hers was.
I've seen toy/electronics restorers reduce or even sometimes remove yellowing entirely on older products by putting some sort of cream on them and leaving them under a UV light (or sometimes just putting them outside if they live in a sunny enough area). I'm not sure how well that works with that specific kind of pink plastic but it might be worth looking into for the ones that are aging worse? I've been meaning to watch this show since I was a little kid and bought a box of pencils with the characters on the at a garage sale, didn't know who they were for years but the pencils were so pretty and the characters were so cute I'd just space out looking at them. Maybe this'll finally be the push I need.
They didn't sell replacement parts? Seems like a really obvious missed opportunity. There's no way they didn't know that kids were losing pieces of their flagship toy. They almost certainly would've predicted that happening. Maybe they just wanted people to buy a brand new one?
My sister has two of these wands, and although not cloudy, the rod had been slightly scratched by the previous owner, so I used some holographic transparent vinyl to wrap it up and it looks so fun! It's not jarring and makes it look more magical eheheh
For the candy cane wand nowadays they can fill it with like, probably little silicone beads or something. I wonder if some of these could be remade by like, fans with 3D printers lmao. And make them better and more lasting.
I lovvveddd this video omg 🗣️💕 my peperuto poron and apprentice tap were already pretty yellowed when I bought them (which made them more affordable :D) but I’ve been thinking about trying the hydrogen peroxide trick or whatever to try and bring back some of that pink 🥺🌈💫💕

All the oversights for the Motto are wild, they did my favorite season dirty😭 And don’t worry, Hana’s transformation is also among my favorites. Heck her outfit is mt favorite in the whole series💕
This was a fun look into the transformation and wand merch from Ojamajo Doreimi and how each one has developed into merch ^^ I can see why some of them could have been developed better but I like the aesthetics of them ^^ Great video as always ^^
It’s so funny how when watching this show as a kid I never thought that all of those items were made up for selling more toys I never even thought of getting it as a toy
Watching this makes me want some wands. You can tell Heartcatch Precure's weapons take inspiration from Doremi which is probably why I love thems so much! The simplicity of the old precure toys makes the marketing feel so effortless compared to the newerones. Back to Oja's toys, it may be the tinker in me, I want to get my hands on some of them and like, fix them? The sweet poron could replace the sterofoam with glitter or put a custom lid on the top to prevent the beads from going up and I want to make the purfume bottle like a functional bottle. The design is so cute, I want one for actual use and I dont use perfume!
in italy magical girl shows were SO popular and i used to have so many of these toys but when i grew up a bit i lost interest and we gave them away 😭😭 couldn’t have known i would get back into them and spend hours on reselling sites trying to find them for a decent price
The stickiness is plasticizer breaking down. You can clean it with isopropyl alcohol, which is pretty mild and shouldn't impact any prints and decals. That being said, plasticizer will eventually leak out completely and once rubbery vinyl will become hard plastic.
I’ve never seen this show, but I love listening to people talk about things they love, and even though this wasn’t my show you gave me such lovely nostalgia for managing to lose a bunch of the cards from my Cardcaptors book thing.
Oh yay a Doremi video! I love Doremi and I really hope they continue with the Special Memorize series! Also, it’s cool that you still have your N.A. Doremi toys from your childhood! I’ve been looking for a Wandaler ever since I sold mine back in 2019 (which I still regret to this day 😭) Love love love your collection btw 🤩🤩
An entire video of Doremi toys I have always saw but never could buy or afford? Sign me up! Legit firstly I must say I envy anyone who had toys of this show. They look so cool and I know as a kid I would have loved to get anything from the show even if anything I bought then would be Magical Doremi items (But legit my nostalgia and love for it is so strong I wouldn't be against it). So seeing what has happened to these over the years is absolutely tragic! Still it's nice to see some in good condition. For me I would really like to see if I could ever find a season 1 styled wand preferably Doremi's one since it's legit my favorite magical girl wand. Also if I may, thank you for just continuing to spread the word of watching Ojamajo Doremi. It's legit a show with such a special place in my heart, which while Pretty Cure might've overtaken by now in terms of rankings (I still love Doremi with a passion though!), it's a show I wish more talked about. Heck just hearing your mention elements of the wizard subplot (MY PERSONAL FAVORITE STORYLINE) and the Former Witch Queen Subplot (The best storyline) made me have a huge smile on my face! So thank you very much! :)
I can’t imagine how much fun you had doing this video! Love to hear people talking about specific topics about the things they like ahahahhah Great video!
oh my god I feel like I have finally found a kindred spirit. There are many magical girl channels but I have never found one that does so much ojamajo doremi content! OBSESSED. I especially love that your username incorporates doremis name, as does mine! (although my channel is not related to magical girls) Your collection is amazing
i love this video so much it’s so good! as of now i only have the apprentice tap from my childhood but your vid made me more excited to keep collecting 🌈🎀💫 remakes of these items like the ones you mentioned at the end would be so cool !!!
I love your collection so much! I thought about for some of there things because I rewatched the anime and hoped they would have made adorable toys for it as well, seeing how poorly they age, I really hope they redo them, now that it has its 25 year celebration ♥So we can have them in all its glory it deserves. A wonderful video, thank you for showing :)
This is such a throw back! I remember loving this show when I was teeny tiny. It had cute things, and Witches!!!!!!! And music, magic and music. Such a sucker for it.
In regards to toy sales in the 2000's, I kind of remember it being extremely crazy around that time just in general. It mostly comes up with me when talking about the start of Pokemon & just how annoyed outsiders were with the marketing. Their were other franchise with this problem, I think toy manufacturers were just to enthusiastic over capitalizing on any possible fads.
The transformation for Motto! has always been spinning in my brain like a rotisserie chicken since I found those clips as a kid, knowing the transformation item was made into a toy is neat but sad that it can be sticky thanks to age
Hi from Germany, I'm amazed how you created this video of anime merch which isn't that my type but I like in general animes. You're talented and I wish you the best ❤
This was such an interesting vid!! I love Ojamajo Doremi transformation items so muchhhhh!! Sharp is my fav season too!! Also the sponsor is the absolute bestttt!!
So many cool toys from this show! Thanks for the awesome video! 😊 I have some Totally Spies gadget toys that use a similar pink plastic. The color sadly has not lasted well and the previous owner must of displayed the items partially in the sun so there noticeable difference in the color of pink. I do my best to keep any older toys displayed away from windows to avoid the sunlight.
Have you seen many modern magical girl toys? I got my kid the compact from Wonderful Precure and it somehow projects shapes onto a mirror with LEDs! So cool!
This is absolutely not my type of content but it was recommended so i put it on for my bedtime routine. and your editing and personality and writing was so good that I watched the whole thing. It even made me have some realizations about my childhood. Oddly needed. Thank you.
Love this vid! Been a long time running DOREMI fan since I was a kid and always wondered how the merchandise held out over the years. Now I am informed of the horror lmao
You know i never watched it but I love listening to you talk about it, and you're so funny with the expressions you make too. i love your videos. I'll watch now bc you told me to!
I’m amazed I’ve never found your channel. My FAVORITE magical girl anime is Ojamajo Doremi and it’s so nice to finde someone with the same love and respect of the genre. And I also enjoyed your analysis of the designs.
Not to be parasocial, but totally fell a little bit in love w you ngl (respectfully, asexually) was kicking my feet/twirling my hair, it’s so nice to hear someone go in depth about something they’re passionate about (bonus that it’s very cute aesthetically too!!) Might legitimately go watch the series if I have the time, added it to a mental list
I love Ojamajo Doremi, and im soooo happy to see someone talk about it! I've been wanting the toys, but they're waaay above my budget, unfortunately. But I'm glad to see them in use here, and I appreciate your thoughts on them!
It's always so sad when vibrantly colored toys lose their vibrant shades. I'm such a sucker for cute colors too. Also, your periwinkle cup in the corner is insanely cute. What brand is it?
I would like to back this up. I too always loved Ojamajo Doremi and wanted to get some of the merch, but prices were always kind of insane and the plastic was always a concern for me.😂
Watching this makes me cry over my card captor sakura wand i had that made noise and lit up and was super pretty and fun!!! like it was sturdy af but sometime when i was in late middle school to early highschool it suddenly disappeared and i've never been able to find ti again so my parents just go "must have sold it" :(( they genuinely don't remember or care and it;'s like over a decade later and i'm still sad about it.
ahhh the items are so cute! it's unfortunate that not all can hold up over time. I enjoy collecting a lot of the toys from kamen rider, but recent seasons I feel have focused more on the toy aspect to the point where the show focuses wayyyy too much on it. One of the things I liked about some older shows was the fact that they would give time to introduce new items and for the characters to actually use them before introducing something else so you could actually get familiar with it.
Omg Ojamajo doremi looks so adorable!!! All the clips and toys you’ve showed look so much like something I would’ve enjoyed as a kid I love it😭😭🩷🩷 I really love the witchy theming and the little seasonal themes you mentioned. Off to watch it now
I feel like if they ever redesigned the one with the scented rose part, it could be made replaceable so you can add in a new scent whenever if it ever dries out.
The video I didn't know I wanted but am so pleased exists now!! This was such an interesting topic, and I love Ojamajo Doremi and its magical items. The rhythm tap are my favourite transformation item too, I love everything about it and it feels like such a natural evolution of the apprentice tap. I think Sharp overall has my favourite magical items, though the phone toy is very forgettable to me. The cologne tap though.... special place in my heart because how beautiful it is, love it so much. I did NOT know it was a real perfume bottle though, my goodness.
I am late to this video, but I am so so impressed by your research and deep analysis! Your videos are such a joy to watch!! 🥰 All the editing, the commentary, the strong descriptions and funny inserts here and there, are fantastic!!!! You kept my attention the whole time and this makes me so so so excited I am on the Doremi watch party train right now (still on season 1!!) 💗💞 Also being here since the beginning of your youtube career to now... the growth is such a JOY to witness and be a part of 💗💞 you deserve alllllllllll the views and MORE!!!!!!
Ooooooo I loved learning about the history of these toys!!! I actually grew up with this show as a little girl and I even had the dolls/ wand! I believe I had the one with pink hair and the one with glasses! 😁 Your videos are tons of fun and relaxing!! ❤❤ keep up the great work!!
With the release of the anniversary toys as collectibles I'm also hoping for new taps to be added! The Sharp one is my absolute favorite, it's just gorgeous and buying it second hand would burn a hole in my bank for years to come so here's hoping
14:46 I like watching 2000' phone reviews and this may be a case of rubber reversion, basically with age and heat rubber "reverts" to it's original liquid form
aaaaaa you’re so amazing for making this 💕 I love doremi but (of course) could never find any of the items, so being able to see you review em has filled a hole in my heart c:
I have a wreath poron! It's a tad yellowed but not too much, but it still spins perfectly! Oh the fun I have to spin it around with the music (which still works somehow!) I always loved its shape as it is way more unique and creative imo. Question! Is your sponsor working overseas as well? I wanna buy more OD stuff so badly
I thought it would be liquid and glitter in the candycane wand sooo styrofoam beads and a fan is a pretty big step up from my initial guess lol. Honestly it's brilliant if they just didn't get stuck at the top. I was even impressed with the riffling in the wand forcing the beads to spiral somewhat consistently.
I love this but I think this is what makes the toys so nostalgic you know? A child finding this wouldn’t know what to do with then? But then I also agree because of the apprentice tap toy could’ve been more. Like play the wand melody when you put in the right codes Great video
Imani!!! I absolutely love this video. Your editing style have gotten so good! As a super fan of Ojamajo like yourself, i was honestly not aware of these toys aging so poorly. I'm trying to make a collection myself and it's really helpful to know. You make me want to create Ojamajo YT videos as well!! Keep it up!
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO! I love your content and I am a collector as well. I still need the wreath poron from sharp, the cologne tap from dokkan, and I want to try and get the Patissiere poron from motto. Btw keep up the great work ❤
12:14 omg what I had that toy as a kid!! I didn't even know about the anime but it was a gift from a family friend and I loved it so much 😭 I broke it on purpose though because my mom told me to give it to a younger cousin since I didn't play with it anymore and I was an evil child LMAO I honestly wish I never did that because I wish I still had it 💀
Ah!! 😭😭 i’m so happy to see an ojamjo doremi fan in 2024!! The anime really hold a special place for me, i thought i’d never get a hand of these toys since i believed they are only sold in Japan and forgot that ebay is a thing.. maybe i’d buy one of them after watching your review 😂 btw if you ever heard of Jewelpet you should do a toy review on them!
This was such a fun video. Fantastic job Imani! I don’t have any Ojamajo Doremi but I’ve thought about getting them for YEARS! So this makes me really think if I want them or not!
This is a very informative video. I love Ojamajo Doremi and I'm glad someone else remembers it! 😁 For what it's worth, Bandaid Japan has been releasing 25th Anniversary items for the show (possible re-releases of the toys?). They're on Season 1 right now, but I think they might do the rest.🤞🏾 Edit: Oh-- you already knew about the re-releases... The sentiment still stands (I hope they do the Rhythm Tap)
I wonder if one could retrobrite some of the more yellowed plastics without damaging anything else. I guess it might depend on if any particular toy was capable of being taken apart and reassembled...

Just found your channel and LOVING YOUR STUFF!!!! Nice to see someone talking about the magical girl toys that plays a huge part in the franchises
I can’t imagine how much fun you had doing this video! Love to hear people talking about specific topics about the things they like ahahahhah Great video!
I definitely had too much fun 😭
oh my god I feel like I have finally found a kindred spirit.
There are many magical girl channels but I have never found one that does so much ojamajo doremi content! OBSESSED.
I especially love that your username incorporates doremis name, as does mine! (although my channel is not related to magical girls)
Your collection is amazing
I'm excited to see if they continue recreating them. :) very well thought out video!
PS: happy birthday to Naisho!
i love this video so much it’s so good! as of now i only have the apprentice tap from my childhood but your vid made me more excited to keep collecting 🌈🎀💫 remakes of these items like the ones you mentioned at the end would be so cool !!!
12:06 YOU USE LIGHT! IT'S LITERALLY MAGIC LIGHT IN THE SHOW
Hi from Germany, I'm amazed how you created this video of anime merch which isn't that my type but I like in general animes.
You're talented and I wish you the best ❤
Seeing you talk about these toys with such passion makes me smile. Thanks for making my bad day a bit better :)
This was such a fun video! I'm so glad you came up on my feed!!!
This was such an interesting vid!! I love Ojamajo Doremi transformation items so muchhhhh!! Sharp is my fav season too!! Also the sponsor is the absolute bestttt!!
So many cool toys from this show! Thanks for the awesome video! 😊
I have some Totally Spies gadget toys that use a similar pink plastic.
I can't believe my first thought when I saw that last wand was "that's a sonic screwdriver!" Lmao
The Dokkan perfume magic device would be interesting as a charm shaker after seeing this.
I kind of want the first season's wand.
This has been added to my comfort videos playlist
you videos really give me that cozy cute feeling keep goin! ❤❤
aah!!! i love your yellow sewing machine!!! it’s so cute! just like you! 🤠🌈✨
Oh by the way! a UV protector spray bottle helps it from yellowing
top coat for model kit building also work well
Haven’t sent the show but was a fan of WITCH and winx club growing up and I love your aesthetic. Also want to decorate my room too.
Not to be parasocial, but totally fell a little bit in love w you ngl (respectfully, asexually) was kicking my feet/twirling my hair, it’s so nice to hear someone go in depth about something they’re passionate about (bonus that it’s very cute aesthetically too!!)
Might legitimately go watch the series if I have the time, added it to a mental list
❤❤❤❤ This video so much!! I’m halfway through season 1 so I zoned out when you were explaining the later seasons but still amazing!
This video was so fun! I loved seeing all the vintage items!
Awesome video!! I lost one of the beads for the first wand too, but thankfully child me was smart and took good care of it besides that 😅
I am late to this video, but I am so so impressed by your research and deep analysis!
Omg Magical 😭😭 I’m so thankful for you even watching!!! you’re so sweet 🥹💕🩷🤍 it’s always been a fun and unexpected journey!!
Ooooooo I loved learning about the history of these toys!!! I actually grew up with this show as a little girl and I even had the dolls/ wand! I believe I had the one with pink hair and the one with glasses! 😁
Your videos are tons of fun and relaxing!! ❤❤ keep up the great work!!
Thank you so much! 💖💖
With the release of the anniversary toys as collectibles I'm also hoping for new taps to be added! The Sharp one is my absolute favorite, it's just gorgeous and buying it second hand would burn a hole in my bank for years to come so here's hoping
14:46 I like watching 2000' phone reviews and this may be a case of rubber reversion, basically with age and heat rubber "reverts" to it's original liquid form
aaaaaa you’re so amazing for making this 💕
I love doremi but (of course) could never find any of the items, so being able to see you review em has filled a hole in my heart c:
I have a wreath poron! It's a tad yellowed but not too much, but it still spins perfectly! Oh the fun I have to spin it around with the music (which still works somehow!) I always loved its shape as it is way more unique and creative imo.
Question! Is your sponsor working overseas as well? I wanna buy more OD stuff so badly
They ship worldwide with different fees for diff countries! (also not sponsored, just a review :) )
@@doreimani Oh that's great news, thank you! (my bad, oops ^^')
Your video essays are great
I thought it would be liquid and glitter in the candycane wand sooo styrofoam beads and a fan is a pretty big step up from my initial guess lol.
Like play the wand melody when you put in the right codes
Great video
Keep it up!
OMG Your mouse pad matches my blanket (Sailormoon’s blanket)
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO! I love your content and I am a collector as well. I still need the wreath poron from sharp, the cologne tap from dokkan, and I want to try and get the Patissiere poron from motto.
Btw keep up the great work ❤
WAOW you're so close!! Good luck to you on getting the last three! 💕
@@doreimani thank you :3 and good luck to you as well.
They are really really pretty as decorative pieces but I'm also stubborn and want everything to work as they were made to at least once lmao 🥴
@@doreimani that part! The one wand I really want is the sharp wand, but yeah I want it to work.
Thank god I never found out about these toys as a kid because they would have consumed my life 💀 I can just tell
This is a very informative video. I love Ojamajo Doremi and I'm glad someone else remembers it! 😁
For what it's worth, Bandaid Japan has been releasing 25th Anniversary items for the show (possible re-releases of the toys?). They're on Season 1 right now, but I think they might do the rest.🤞🏾
Edit: Oh-- you already knew about the re-releases... The sentiment still stands (I hope they do the Rhythm Tap)
I loved this show and suggested the Name sophie for my Little sister because of it. It is very sad, that all of the items are so darn expensive.
when you said the toys were here for a good time, not a long time, I cackled out loud! Love this video!
Something about every time you say the word “toy” scratches my brain just right
I wonder if one could retrobrite some of the more yellowed plastics without damaging anything else. I guess it might depend on if any particular toy was capable of being taken apart and reassembled...
12:05 It looks like Bandai kinda learn from this, since the build bottle are actually functional.
