Aavesham (transl. Excitement) is a 2024 Indian Malayalam-language action comedy film directed by Jithu Madhavan and produced by Nazriya Nazim and Anwar Rasheed under the banner of Fahadh Faasil and Friends and Anwar Rasheed Entertainments. The film stars Fahadh Faasil in the lead role, alongside Hipster, Mithun Jai Shankar, Roshan Shanavas, Midhutty, Sajin Gopu and Mansoor Ali Khan in pivotial supporting roles. The music was composed by Sushin Shyam, while the cinematography and editing were handled by Sameer Thahir and Vivek Harshan.

Eda mone does NOT translate to Aye chotte by a long shot. Mone is used in such a wide variety of scenarios and in different relationships (like girlfriend-boyfriend), Aye chotte does not have the same meaning at all. But I suppose there's no corresponding word in Hindi.
It works well in the context of the movie. That's what matters to the target audience.

Once aspect no non malayalees would understand is how Mone is used pronounced by Fahedh. it's not like a native malayalee would pronounce but an outsider would ..this fits in with rangas character who is in. Bangalore and not in Kerala ...what a perfection

They could have used 'Beta' instead of 'Mone', which is the exact translation. In Malayalam version, when the dialogue is first delivered by Fahadh, it extracts a lot of emotions. We have never seen him calling teens or young adults - 'Mone' in any film, which looked fresh. It ensures a feel of an elder person, also some kind of protection or parents' love in that single dialogue, which he shows throughout the film. It's my personal opinion only.
