Came here to say this. Start with the lands on the right. It’s so much easier to click.
some Spiral Tide advice: with Candelabra you want to start from right to left so that the expanding frame doesn't interfere with the land you want to click next
also, if you plan to shuffle your ponders just whack the 'any order' button on the left side, saves you two clicks and fiddling with the frame moving about
also, you'ld be wise to look at Lorien Revealed, it's pretty busted. probably cut some fetches for it.

I've been enjoying a list without candelabra and using the extra space for solve the equation. It's like extra merchant scrolls, but it also finds desire/spiral

Cunning Wish can also be nice because you can Merchant Scroll for it and it gets basically anything in the sideboard.
Match 1 made me realize Samwise is a WAY weirder card than I thought. It's super wonky in multiples just being "1W, reveal this from your hand: Tempt" as a floor
1:27:17 Granted doesn't get countered by bowmasters, it has a 4 mv. Adventures check against their adventure's characteristics while on that stack.
Lorien Revealed seems pretty good with force, minds desire and mystic sanctuary.

Match 1 game 2 really shows just how much high tide needed mind's desire. Super excited to see high tide played more in coming time
I will always have a soft spot for minds desire, it helped me win my first ptq way back in 2005. Extended heartbeat of spring, or "Star wars kid" as the deck was named.
Haven't been this excited about a B&R announcement in a while, so excited to play with Mind's Desire!
The stack play from minute 1:23:00 was so cool. Such a fun deck.

42:01 Turnabout on Candelabras gains six mana (each Candelabra is 3 to activate and generates 6, so spend 6 total and make 12 total). Turnabout on lands also gains six mana doesn't it?
Correct. They break even, so lands is faster. Any additional high tides or candelabras make artifacts better.
Can't believe this unban! This will be fun, High Tide is still my favorite deck. Hope Mind's Desire give it some more power and bring it back to the format
@ 42:00 because you only have 1 high tide and 2 candelabras, turnabout artifact vs land is +6 mana either way. Good heuristic to go for artifact but could save clicks.
Lands is main decking Sphere recently as a way to fight combo ive seen that since LOTR set dropped
Love the video. I’ve been on high tide for a while, and I’ve been having an incredible time running 1 intuition in the list. It is your bullet that finds Time Spiral, and now, can also find Mind’s Desire. I’ve been having extreme success with that card, but only 1.
I will be moving to Fae of Wishes over Cunning Wish after seeing you can access Dress downs in game 1. Exciting stuff! Thanks for the video Reid!

Those were some crazy matches, especially against blue decks where high tide sometimes unlocks the opponents' forces
Auto like and comment for Hight Tide content. Veil of Summer and Growth Spiral have sent me into Simic. A meta full of Bowmasters has had me put the Time Spirals back in the binder while trying out Solidarity. And with Sail into the West I am not even playing Meditate anymore. All that said seeing one of the best Magic players playing my favorite decks is a great inspiration. I see many content creators toying with High Tide but it's just something else with someone who can actually find the lines even when it's not a deck they usually play. Thank you!
Would you think a light splash in this deck (like only 1 Forest and/or 1 Trop not sure about the exact mana base) only for Veil and Sail and some Solve the equation in the mix to search for them would be interesting ? Or would it be better to stay mono colored if we don't put Spiral Growth and so on to inveat more in green ?
I guess if we're totally Simic, we could try out Aeve or smth like that for alternative wincon
@@benjaminguillot4170 Good question as it made me realize I forgot to take out a Trop after adding a Forest. One of each should be enough. I maindeck two Veils and have two in the SB. I only board in one Veil as I use my SB as a wish board with Cunning Wish. I cannot tutor for Veil in the main as I only use Merchant Scrolls - but at least Sail is a blue instant.
Is clicking lands from back to front easier with candelabra?

There's an older way to run it with Sapphire Medallions that only had a single Candelabra in sideboard, but I don't know if it's actually legacy-level or not. The Frantic Searches would have to be replaced with something, but it'd scratch the High Tide itch on a budget.

You can always cast cards even if it will be countered by cards like counterbalance or chalice, if you're going the Mind's Desire route, if only to increase the storm count. This is especially if they're already free (off a previous Mind's Desire). You never know with Mind's Desire what those extra free spells are, could be the game winner. Great content, nonetheless!

Could this deck use a 2-of Murktide or something?
I could very much see a long game against control with a massive graveyard and just slamming a Murktide after multiple combo attempts seems good. This deck is also amazing at filling the graveyard after oppo boarded out all removal
The problem with Murktide Regent is by the time your graveyard is really full like that, you could have played something bigger. Old High Tide secret tech was to play Emrakul, the Aeons Torn in such situations. The control player sits on counter magic, preparing for Timespiral or stopping key cards in a Mind's Desire chain, but then gets BTFO'd by a spaghetti monster mother.
The other option is good ol' Palinchron, since it creates an infinite combo. Even if the control player has a lot of interaction, it's really hard to win against someone with unlimited amounts of blue mana.
Amazing content! I wonder if having Thassa’s Oracle in the board would be worth the slot for insurance against veil and potential eldrazi
Granted only gets non-creatures unfortunately. You can play around Eldrazi by winning with Blue Sun's Zenith, though, so it's not strictly necessary. Veil is a little harder to deal with, but you can definitely use a combination of Time Spiral and Blue Sun's to sculpt your hand and start the next turn with something like 4x high tide into a payoff.
What was the article they read from 2014 on?
I wonder whether some number of Lorien Revealed would be good in this deck.

It's not as good as it used to be. Most Tide players have cut to one or none in the main, and maybe one in the sideboard as a wish target

NGL, I came with the Mind's Desire announcement. At this point, there are SOME answers to storm, so why not give it a try? It does require quite a bit of setup.
Really want to see if preordain, with council’s deliberation, Palantir, and the one ring can work in a UW control shell in modern with bowmasters lurking. It’s been a super powerful draw engine minus the one ring in legacy for me

having zero business available via Scroll or Wish seems bad. Idk if there is something better than Meditate available nowadays.
He actually mentions this around 1:03:10 haha. I honestly don't think merchant scroll for Brainstorm is all that bad, but it's not like you lose that possibility by running a single Cunning Wish. Maybe cut the Flusterstorm or one of the Candelabras?
Ive considered a cheeky Archmages Charm because its a really good scroll pickup. Im not sure what the third mode hits but its legacy, there will be weird things.

I believe this deck should run at least a single copy of Intuition. You can get it with Merchant Scroll and it can get Desire/Spiral. You had to Scroll for Brainstorm a few times, because there was nothing more useful to get.
Or maybe Solve the equation as someone pointed out and was playing in his shell ? Idk the pros and cons each has
@@benjaminguillot4170 Not unreasonable, but 50% higher cost compared to Merchant Scroll is a bit of problem imho. Also not sure about the win conditions in the deck. Having something to wish for in the sideboard that can win through Veil protection seems worth it. Folio of Fancies maybe.
@LifeIsImbA Ah yeah, I was thinking about Solve the equation as a 5 or 6th Merchant Scroll that could be tutored by Merchant but forgot Solve was also a ritual.
So y having Intuition into the mix can be pretty relevant. We can have 1/2 Wish to get wincon and other solutions in SB and 1 in the main deck tho maybe ? For example -3 Candelabra +1 Solve + 1 Intuition + 1 Wish ? Idk if Candelabra is that important. Otherwise, we can take them all out to have 1 Wish more.
Deckbuilding for High Tide/Solidarity is always interesting.

Why fae of wishes over cunning wish?
Likely because it also finds non-instants
More versatile and in situations where you have tons of mana but no payoff you can cast it from exile then bounce back to hand and tutor again. It's an expensive wish but sometimes this deck has too much mana not enough buisness.
It's also a emergency blocker if necessary to stall for a bit which can keep you alive for more turns and has flying so it can block a cheated out Atraxa or Griselbrand in emergency granted you still are in trouble but it can buy a turn which can be big when you are a combo deck
Right, I found the 1/4 flying body pretty nice! Good against Delver, DRC, Bowmasters, Bolt, Marit Lage, and the like.
Greedy play cost you the game here 1:39:30. Playing the first Brainstorm was a big mistake, forcing you to pitch a valuable Turnabout to Force of Will. Not having that Turnabout cost you the game here. High Tide Turnabout Time Spiral just wins with 5 lands through Sphere
At 2:03:54 instead of discarding both cards, just pay 1 extra mana and bounce the Faerie with Wipe Away :) Gives you an extra storm for Mind's Desire plus keeps you proteced against something like Mindbreak Trap

Jar was the fastest banning in _Standard and Extended._ Urza's Legacy had been released on February 15th. 1999. Jar was retroactively banned in mid-March 1999 to be included in the March 1st. 1999 bans. Nearly a full month went by before it was banned.
Scourge was released on May 26th. 2003. Mind's Desire was the fastest banning ever. It got banned in Legacy and restricted in Vintage on June 1st. 2003 (5 days after its release).
If you can cast both mind's desire and time spiral, please for the love of god cast mind's desire. Time spiral can just miss.
Both can miss. In pretty much the exact same way. It's super conditional on storm count.
