@@pietro750While I haven't played Vintage myself, I have watched a lot of vintage videos (LSV videos included, of course). And I have to say I completely disagree. I think we could do like ~5-10 of these without me getting bored assuming we don't do strictly mono blue/brown. Very enjoyable format for this viewer. I could see watching this for maybe up to like a third of your vintage draft content. Really appreciate the no-power gritty, scrappy decks you sometimes hobble together in the more typical formats.
Supreme draft videos are a concentrated way to see some of the busted interactions in a vintage cube. Likely interesting for a few drafts, but likely diminishing returns at some point. Would like to see LSV do a richman chaos draft.
The draft format was fun to see. But honestly, I think I only had the appetite for somewhere between 1 and 2, total. The draft strategy is abysmally shallow, and every match is a mirror. I didn't mind the Cawblade era, since the mirror match was at least a relatively skillful game. But this format is basically that all over again with way fewer skill-testing interactions.
Imo people just can't help themselves, bc they know they're likely to only do a couple. There's a level 2 of the format that uses a lot of interaction, fewer colors, and cheap threats to beat combo. Artifact removal is also nutty. Try drafting a Broadside Bombadeers aggro deck, it's a 1-card combo when you have 3+ mox.
Team draft weekdays, supreme draft weekends. I watch the long drafts during data entry work. I loved the quicker supreme draft weekend because i get my fix and still have plenty of weekend activities to experience lsv please try this schedule for 2 weeks as a trial.
Supreme draft will only be on mtgo for 1week. I suppose he could record a bunch of videos and then release them later, but not sure if he would do that.
Loved getting to watch the crazy high power level decks go at it. Maybe sprinkling one or two of these a month would be fun. The team drafts are still the best though.
There are others. You can jam Questing Beasts or other cheap threats, with interaction to beat the combo decks. Broadside Bombadeers is probably the best threat in the format, because you'll always have 3+ moxes.
I for one am loving these supreme draft videos! It's fun to watch busted decks face off against each other and sit back and enjoy the sparks. Sure, they will get boring at some point if broken blue is the only viable archetype, but I bet I'll be happy to watch as many as you're willing to make.
To be fair, if this had happened in paper the outcome would be the same (unless your opponent gives you takesy backsies). You can still screw up the ordering of actions in paper, though it might happen less often.
@@brianh5844 I just don't see this particular mistake happening in paper. Even if you realized that there were 3 cards in your graveyard when you activate Jace, you could just activate the converter in response. @@brianh5844 It's not too late -- only online if you don't hold priority. @@nickk6556I guess my sense was it would be easy to just loot, and then see there's only 3 cards in the GY as you drop the card in, at which point there's no time to currency converter in response. I think you should keep doing these. They are quick and fun to watch. It's like every draft is your busted storm craziness drafts but actually make it there.
This is the best format ever for 1-3 drafts and the worst after that. I would say make 2-3 a week. They are relatively short drafts, so that should be doable, and the community seems to have a concensus that it is fun in small doses. Try forcing some different stuff. I know blue combo is the best with academy and mox friends, but it would be interesting to see how you would maybe look to draft counterplay and hate people out of their broken stuff
I personally got bored after 2 drafts. Was s fun experience at first, but you quickly figured out that you were playing nothing but blue storm-like mirror matches that is all about resolving your bowmaster or hullbreacher
the format is great because it is fast as well as high variance and high power. games like that are super punishing. when a player can win on any turn, a mistake that gives them a turn is much more likely to give them the game. high power allows for catching up. how many more t1 wins are in the format compared to a normal draft? if it was 500% more, play 500% less games or until it's not fun, whatever comes first.
Feels like these drafts are a great opertunity to test out cube decks at their best. I’d like to see you build differnt archetypes that we maybe don’t see all that often 😊
My guess is this format will actually reduce build variety, if you want to make a competitive deck. Most interesting stuff you can do will just get annihilated by blue storm decks with power. But maybe there are enough other super fast decks that can compete.
