"We all change, when you think about it, we're all different people; all through our lives, and that's okay, that's good, you've gotta keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be. I will not forget one line of this, not one day, I swear. I will always remember when The Doctor was me." The 11th doctor was fantastic😢😢😢😢😢😢
I love him so much
@@multifanderisverycrafty here here
When he look at us more sad
That wasnt the doctor talking.
It was Matt... 😢
This moment was so tear-jerking and this line is so relatable and fitting to the 11th Doctor.
There's so many amazing Regeneration farewells but it's between 9 and 11 for me. The emotion is so palpable. I remember Matt breaking down in tears at the table read. The speech is the perfect farewell from Eleven and Matt. Every incarnation of the Doctor will always be the Doctor as will the actors who made the incarnation special. The cherry on top: In the beginning he was Amelia's imaginary friend in the end she was his. Truly beautiful Regeneration
where can we find the table read for this ep?
I think it's part of the behind the scenes footage filmed during the making of 'Time of the Doctor:' m.ua-cam.com/video/EH3hbEo_g1E/v-deo.html :-)
True words my Friend. Although I prefer the eleventh doctor's regeneration.
Why not 12 🤔
@@valexcx Absolutely adore 12 and his Regeneration. Was sadder for Capaldi's exit than any other. I guess it's partly because I was dreading the Chibnall era and as amazing as Twelve's speech is it would felt more powerful with a companion than speaking to his future self I feel
The metal sound effect at 3:05 when he takes his bow tie off for the final time like it was a character. His bow ties were as iconic as he was. Like someone said earlier, great writing, acting, and music in this scene.
After countless rewatches, I also thought of something else. The 11th was the doctor who forgets, and so in this speech he shows that he’s learned the importance of remembering and not forgetting
I suppose it then leads to 12's character having a heart of gold and always trying his best to make up for his mistakes
Matt Smith was the first Doctor I watched live. So i have no trouble admitting i teared up a lot during this scene.
Same mate. 11 was my First Doctor and i miss him dearly. Still cry everytime i watch this.
My god man same for me
First Doctor I watched as well. I loved Moffats era of Doctor Who (although it's also the only one I've watched in it's entirety). It has this very cool fairy tale atmosphere and feeling to it.
David was my first but this was still sad I cried
Same, I was heart broken when his time was up. I stopped watching doctor who due the change but later during the end of Peter's run I got back into doctor who and loved his doctor and again became heart broken when he left
I can't imagine the pressure that Matt Smith was under when he first took to the TARDIS. He had just seen the show's rebirth, growth and supremacy under RTD, Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant and now it was him and Steven Moffat taking over.
And it's fair to say, he had his critics, myself among them. But Matt absolutely crushed it. He made bow ties cool, he made his big hair cool, he gave us some amazing performances and in doing so, he made Doctor Who his own.
And this final scene topped the lot. He said he'll always remember when the Doctor was him, but we're never going to forget him.
I dont even know why I clicked on this video. I have watched the 11th doctors series so many times. I didn't even start the video and I started to tear up.....I'm never ready when a doctor says goodbye
So much in this scene to remind you of 11's signature style. Fish Fingers & Custard, the poignant removal of the mighty bow-tie. And Amy walking down the stairs to an instrumental of 'The Long Song'? A truly splendid idea!
'I will always remeber when the doctor was me' gets me everytime more so when he looks down the camera, a perfect depareture for the perfect incarnation of the doctor
matt smith breaking the 4th wall.
I cried during his regeneration this was just that moment that struck me
I love how it makes you think that it's going to be a long goodbye with clara but then he regenerates in an instant, it reminded me of 9 to 10 regeneration, the doctor and the public knew what was going to happen, but the companion was still putting it all together when the doctor suddenly changes
it's only on those moments of the show when the viewer is put through the perspective of the doctor instead of the companion
Matt was the first doctor I watched enough to be connected to prior to his regeneration. While I did technically see Seven's first in the '96 movie, I'd only known him for a few minutes before he became Eight. With Eleven, though, I'd had a couple years worth of fun with him by that point so it was much more of an attachment. His speech about change and Amelia's return....they make me break down crying every time. Fare thee well, Raggedy Man. Enjoy your future dragons.
I love this regeneration so much
It’s the end of the original regeneration cycle and a brand new one and the way Smith talks is almost reassuring Clara and the audience that it’s going to be okay.
“Any moment now. He’s coming”
He’ll always be the doctor no matter what
Such a great run and such a great send off to an amazing doctor. The shift to Capaldi was hard but Matt’s cameo in deep breath really got my opinions to shift on him and soon, just like Clara. I grew to love Capaldi’s.
Matt’s doctor was the first regeneration that really stuck with me.
"Geronimo!" When the Doctor regenerated into Matt Smith, it was an entire team that changed. Some of Stephen Moffat's stories were odd, but Matt made it all work.
Watch the Season 17 por odd stories.
His final speech
That wasn't the doctor talking...
That was MATT SMITH talking to us telling us change is alright. When he looked at the camera when he said his final words shows that it was infact him talking not his character.
This was my first regeneration as I sadly missed 10s live while it's not my favourite it's up there. It's one of the best
My favorite heart-warming regeneration sequence
The acting. The writing. The music. All designed to make us cry in 4 minutes. And it works. Best regeneration scene imo
I love it but the effects of the regeneration itself were weak I’m glad they brought back the glowy t-pose for 12s regeneration
@@jojowacka but 12 regeneration was not sad he talked to much and it went on for to long
@@harryvideoz8863 not what I’m talking about I mean like the actual cgi of the regeneration itself
@@jojowacka that was intentional I believe. It was supposed to show that 11 accepts his fate rather than 10 holding it back, which led to an explosion of energy
This one gets me in the feels every time. Fantastic writing acting to make me feel so much. Goodnight Ragady Man.
After David Tennant I didn't think I would feel the same way about Matt Smith... Boy was I wrong... This regeneration scene was really powerful. When Amy showed up it was just so perfect. The quick change was a good little twist 😂
This scene is brilliant in so, so many ways, but I’d really just like to draw attention to how the actual regeneration was more like a very dramatic sneeze. Perfection.
Matt's speech is probably my favorite regeneration speech of DW (so far). Jodie's actual regeneration was the most beautiful, though. 🥲
Matt was a GREAT doctor. I truly hope he comes back for the 60th.
One of my favourite regeneration scenes and probably my favourite final line. It was such a surprise when Amy showed up too.
2:18 This is where he stopped speaking as the Doctor and started speaking as Matt Smith.
One of my favourite Doctor Who scenes ever, and easily my favourite regeneration. Absolutely inspirational work.
One of the best ways a Doctor has ever gone out, love this regeneration
The Doctor: "Do you happen to know how to fly this thing?"
Clara: O.O
The words that hits me the hardest are Amy's "Raggedy man, good night"
Best pre-regeneration speech by far.
He is not my favourite doctor, but I really liked his acting, performance and feelings... if he stayed as the doctor forever, I would enjoy forever.♥
Every Doctor's regeneration scene is sad, Matt Smith helped lighten David Tennant's, but Matt Smith's was just so sad, especially when Amy walked down those stairs and called him Raggedy Man.
Matt Smith is my Doctor, the first face of the doctor i saw. Thank you Eleventh for all the star you put in my eye 💙
Such a heart-warming scene
12 down 2 to go!
Matt has always been my favourite Doctor even to this day, I know many people would choose Tennant as their best Doctor but for me I grew up during the time Steven Moffat took over the show and Smith taking on the role, I wouldn't been a fan of Doctor Who if it wasn't for them also the 11th Doctor's last line truly hits hard the first time I've watched this 9 years ago...
And on that note I will always remember when the Doctor was him.
Keep an eye out for Twelve. That’s the last regeneration we’re gonna get before the special.
@@OnlineFanBoy I know
I was crying when this regeneration happened.
Matt Smith delivered his final speech well. Indeed, I am not what I was at 19, or 39, or even 59. And I will disappear as a breath soon as well. You always try to be better. Nice cameos from the Amelia character (not Caitlin Blackwood) and Amy (Karen Gillan). Jenna Coleman hits all the right notes, too; from the lovestruck girl losing her boyfriend to astonishment and fear as Peter Capaldi arrives and needs driving instructions.
This is my second favorite regeneration of ANY Doctor.
I miss 11 so much, this goodbye breaks my heart every time!
Eleven knew his time was up and he finally accepted that his demise was nearing and in a emotional sendoff came to terms with his regeneration after saying goodbye to his deceased mother in law and left a legacy behind that will never ever be forgotten..
💔💔 My impossible boy 2010-2013
3:17 Proof right there that his last words are not "I will always remember, when The Doctor was me." but are infact just a singular "hey."
Ikr, that's what I always thought.
I like how in the build up to the power of the doctor each regeneration scene is being put here each day.
Also I think Matt smith will always remember when the doctor was him
This still gets to me every time I see it. Major waterworks 😭💔
Fun fact: During the sequence when Amy Pond and The Doctor meet again, both Karen Gillian and Matt Smith are wearing wigs because both had their head shaved.
I'm guessing Karen's was shaved because she was playing Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy. Why was Matt's head shaved?
@@trevorsreya8277 He shaved his head for a movie called Lost River, which came out shortly after his time on Doctor Who.
Murray Gold's score still hits me even now.
This was the Regeneration I was dreading the most since I started with 9.
I can't believe they're nearly at Peter's 🥺 his touched me so much since he was describing Jodie's before we met her. Shame she has had such a horrific series for writing
The Eleventh Doctor will always be my favorite Doctor. I will always remember when the Doctor was him 🥹💙💙
This scene is heartbreaking and absolutely perfect. A great final scene for my doctor ❤
it's been ages and I still cry hopelessly with this scene
The most beautiful and emotional scene I have ever scene in my entire life. Still miss 11th every single day ❤❤
This is the regeneration that got me. I grew up watching 11, this was not as dramatic as 10's and I like that. Doesn't need to be like that, a good speech and a great farewell. Now, being on the next regeneration for my Doctor.
brilliant brilliant brilliant speech and direction
My favourite Doctor. I can't help but feel sad when seeing him take the bow tie off. Brilliant scene and amazing Doctor.
The decision to have the actual change be a quick one was good.
I was in tears watching his bowtie come off and fall to the ground. Then he practically sneezed out Capaldi. The sudden shift really did just shock me out of the sadness.
One of the best….maybe the best…..regeneration scene of them all. As obviously brilliant as Matt’s speech is, I love Capaldi’s stare at Clara as he’s temporarily forgotten her, he probably thinks she’s Handles.
I started watching from the beginning of the revival when I was around 8 or 9 years old. And I love David so much, but I really resonated with Matt, he’s definitely my favourite Doctor so far
I miss matt smith as 11th doctor he was brilliant and I loved Peter capaldi as 12 he was amazing🤩🤩
Close run thing with 'Androzani' as my favourite regeneration scene, but absolutely my favourite last words of any Doctor. Matt was, is, and possibly always will be, my Doctor.
the 11th Doctor was my Doctor, the one I grew up with. I cried rivers when I saw this scene.
'Times change and so must I'....still gives me chills
This scene always gets me.
For being the youngest actor thus far to take on the role of the Doctor, Matt Smith made his own identity with it & I totally choked up when it was time for him to leave.
Him being cast in the House of the Dragon isn't the true testament to his talent; it's that his career managed to survive Morbius more or less unscathed.
The callback to Akhaten in the music is what gets me with this, that was one of my favorite episodes and that small line of music made me cry as soon as I heard it
Matt smith is my favourite doctor to this day, and although it hurt to let him go, I’m so glad it allowed me to meet peter Capaldi, my second favourite doctor.
I always find myself coming back to this scene more than any other in Doctor Who. The acting, the music, the speech, the callbacks, it's all perfect.
When he said I'll always remember when the Dr was me. That was Matt breaking character and saying goodbye
The speech here is one of the best but I remember it getting me in the feels hard when Amy says Goodnight.
11 will always be my doctor, I was a wreck when he regenerated I was so upset. If Matt ever returns for a anniversary or special episode I’ll be complete.
I just cried to this like 2 months ago!
And here I am, crying again...
I wish we got a full season with Matt Smith and Jenna Coleman
Love how this not only came right after the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, but was also the 800th episode. That is if you go by full length TV episodes and as they originally aired. So not counting mini episodes or the unaired serial "Shada" (despite the unfilmed segments completed through animation). Go by "Resurrection of the Daleks" in its 2x45 min episode format as originally aired rather than its 4x25 min format as originally filmed. And of course count the 1996 TV film as it was Paul McGann's only proper TV outing as the 8th Doctor.
*The eleventh will always be remembered. He has a spot in my heart forever. He is, The Doctor. A fantastic Doctor! His final words make me so sad*
Watching through these and am literally crying 😭as if it's the first time I'm seeing it. And it will happen again in two days when it's Jodie's turn. 😭
I may not like the regeneration story but I love that speech, it's one of the few big speeches in the show that I like.
I read later that both Matt and Karen were wearing wigs here. Matt had cut his hair short to film the movie "Lost River", and Karen had shaved her head to play Nebula in "Guardians of the Galaxy".
I love this old way of the show i miss it.
Eleven was the first Doctor I watched beginning to end. He'll always hold a special place in my heart, even as I get to know the other Doctors better. Definitely tear up every time I watch this.
Oooooh, you can tell poor Matt was trying desperately not to cry at 3:05.
Removing arguably his most iconic feature and letting it go. That'd be enough to crack even the coldest of hearts.
Still gets me. Gosh such a good regeneration. And into such a fantastic doctor! Capaldi was great too.
11 was so good he broke the 4th wall in his regeneration
'We all change, when you think about it. We're all different people all through our lives. And that's okay, that's good, you've got to keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be. I will not forget one line of this. Not one day. I swear. I will always remember when the Doctor was me.'
And now it's time for one last bow, like all your other selves. Eleven's hour is over now. The clock is striking Twelve's.
The legend that is the 11th Doctor, Matt Smith will never be forgotten.
This still makes you tear up eh? Yeah same for me!
2022, I still cry.
He should've said "It's Morbin time"
This scene still makes me cry , it’s so somber and tragic , I didn’t want to say goodbye to Matt smith , it’s melancholic too tho as it gave us capaldi , an extremely underrated doctor in my opinion
11 is my doctor, I cried so hard when this episode first aired I had to rewatch this scene like 4 times just to hear what he was saying. It was pretty brutal.
I still get goosebumps when he drops his bowtie.
2013 was my first year watching Doctor Who and I started watching at the tail end of Smith’s era so he was my doctor. All the more sad when he regenerated
awe man who's cutting onions in here ! still gets me to this day
One of my favorite regeneration speeches and I put this on my graduation cap.
Farewell fezzes, bowties and fish fingers in custard
never ceases to hit you in the feels and take your wallet...
9 - regens with a companion
10 - regens by himself
11 - regens with a companion
12 - regens by himself
Considering the current cast are leaving, looks like 13 will be the only one to have the same as the predecessor
Last time I saw this regeneration I was about to cry 😢😢
Something about his entrance and the way he says "Hello" at 00:29. Full of meaning.
This has to be one of the saddest regenerations mainly because of the speech
This scene was beautiful, its hard for me not to tear up during this scene as he was the doctor I started watching and it's always hard to see him go
I really believe that this is the best speech the Doctor has ever made
It’s nice that 12th cheered people up when he appeared, shouting KIDNEYS is what You gotta hear and it brings that random humour back after the sadness of seeing 11th go.
