One thing I've always liked about Project M is they completely embrace "Warioland" aspects. The true origins of Wario. For whatever reason, Brawl and Sm4sh would rather focus on his Warioware days which is fine for the new generation of fans. When I think of Wario though, I will always think of the Warioland games on the GBC so shout outs to Pro M for their love for Wario.

It's part Warioware surpassing Wario Land in terms of notability and part Sakurai being a lazy hack. who'd rather add funky run animations and farting rather than truly embracing Wario's past.

He's lazy in certain design choices. Like the aforementioned Wario example. Or Ganondorf still being a bad Falcon. All while new characters like Ryu, Bayonetta, and Cloud get all the shiny bells and whistles of being a character faithful to their origins.

I'm pretty sure Sakurai has gone on record saying he kept Ganondorf the same to avoid alienating Ganon mains, not because he's lazy. Ganondorf has specific sword swinging animations right from Twilight Princess and Wind Waker when wielding the beam sword. If he were really lazy, he would have just kept Falcon's bean sword swings.
Wario isn't laziness, it's just Sakurai's interpretation of him. Nothing about him has shared animations.
Ryu, Bayonetta, and Cloud were 3rd party characters. They have to get special attention so Capcom/Platinum/Square will actually let Sora Ltd. use them.

There are barely any Ganondorf mains since after Melee, he's been consistently a shitty character who gets combo'd, camped, and gimped easily. Soccer guy already did enough alienation. At this point, changing him can only bring people back to him. And I'm not even saying 100% change him. Just changing his U-tilt, Neutral-B, and U-air into something that either isn't Falcon or isn't Free-For-All garbage with canon Ganon moves would be enough.
Wario is lazy in that Sakurai couldn't be assed to go research some Wario games to capture how the plays instead of just making a weird heavy Jigglypuff with awkward animations and attacks. For fucks sake, he made Wario's signature shoulder attack into his F-Smash then took it away completely in Smash 4.
And saying that Sakurai needs 3rd party companies breathing down his neck to ensure he didn't laze it all up or make some nutty re-interpretation isn't doing him any favors on the "is he lazy" discussion.

This is awesome work. I'm such a huge Wario fan, so I recognized the theme from Wario Land 3 in there that's used in several night time levels! :)

That's because Gunpei Yoki was the man behind the Mario Land series, that lead into the Wario Land series.
But after a decade since his death in a car crash. It is clear that Miyamoto doesn't entirely look at the Wario Land series or games in general. Therefore Sakurai hasn't quite paid attention the games.
Considering that the gameboy games are the most forgotten gems when it comes to crossovers.
Notice how most modern Wario games were developed by either a Second or Third Party company?
With perhaps Wario Land 4 being the last First Party developed game directly by Nintendo.
Sakurai seems to be familiar more with the Microgame Wario than Treasure Hunter.
They also ignored Pac-Man World... :/
Sadly there aren't that many great remixes of songs from Wario Land 3 out there.

The genie’s theme is really good, but when it gets to the Tower or Revival part is when the song really really slaps

To those not know part from 0:53 - 1:50, it is Desert Ruins/Tower of Revival from Wario Land 3.
Anyway, kudos to Pete Lepley for bringing these amazing WL-remixes that is so sorely missed from Smash-games. Amazingly done!
And I also heard the melody of "Escape from Factory" (Warioland 2) at the beginning 0:06 it sounds so similar.

I keep coming back to listen to this song for some reason. Legitimate shame that PM got "killed," the 2 tracks that came out for it were both phenomenal. Phonetic Hero is a fantastic composer tbh.

Ice King This song is based on the boss theme from Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land, with bits of Out Of The Woods from Wario Land 3. Can't remember off the top of my head where that tune from 1:17 to 1:50 is from, though it sounds a bit like something from Wario Land 3 as well, if I had to guess. Can anyone help me out here?

I don't know about that, if project M had it's own story mode, and added back some of the awesome stages for non competitive play, I would agree.
Smash 4 doesn't have the former(which is what I assume you meant to be the 'best thing') and Project M has plenty of non-competitive, fun stages. I typically use them with Stamina Type 3 for insane casual fun.

Quisciens The Smash Bros series as a whole is the "best thing" when looking at the interest of Waluigi, seriously, do you think he'll take to much pride in being in a mod from last gens game, probably not, he has standards *Waluigi picks his nose* .
In the context of my statement I'm saying smash 4 is inferior, I knew everything about the game before it even game out, an all out epic chronicle about the nintendo universe was pretty cool, it was the closest thing to the official nintendo movie we always wanted, and not building on that in the next game was a poor decision in my opinion. I think most would agree that they would like to see another decked out story that combines all the awesomeness that is nintendo.
On stages though, Project M takes all fun out of the game for the competitive community, like removing the mini-games from 'Wario-Ware', or getting rid of the whole climbing the falls mechanic on 'Rumble Falls', and that take away stages completely that were highlights of the original like the Mario bros stage 1 & 2 throwback 'Mushroomy kingdom', or the Donkey Kong Throwback '75m' stage.

The WarioWare minigames are there. They're an alternate stage. The entire page 2 is made up of illegal stages like that, meaning effectively half of the stage selection is purely for casual play; and, even then, there are illegal stages on page 1.
By the way, honestly, I'd rather have Waluigi in Project M than Smash 4. Looking at Wario and Little Mac(two of my favorite video game characters ruined), I've no doubt he'd find a way to ruin another favorite, Waluigi.

Kyo Xtylee Sometimes this happens when copying over brstm files. There are 2 ways you can hopefully get rid of the problem. If you can, defrag your SD card. If that doesn't work, send over the brstm for Bowsers Castle Over again. Hope this helps. :)

isaboll1 No, he meant defrag, aka defragment. Purple I know it's totally frowned upon to defrag flash memory and will shorten the lifespan of your card; however, I can personally attest that it clears up audio issues for project m sound changes.
