Is about different warriors from different timelines and they are invoked in another world to fight with others invoked in this world whit the help from the different creatures from this world
The anime is takes place in a sort of medieval world where famous historical figures from all across our history are all being brought here taking various sides in an ongoing war that will determine the mankind’s fate in that world. It’s an epic and well made show, it’s just a shame is was discontinued
A way to describe the anime as fast as possible would be: "What would happen if historical figures ended in another world after dying", there is Nobunaga, Joan of arc, and even a not so popular Austrian painter. The anime is very good and fun, totally a must watch.
@@jaredheynig197 Yup...he's been working on it since 2006 according to the Wikipedia article and only has 6 volumes out...could also be the magazine's fault if they only have him in the monthly/seasonal (1 ever 4 months)...not a weekly manga unfortunately).
Drifters is amazing, unfortunately the manga is still ongoing with several hiatus in between, so the anime is incomplete. We are getting closer to a Rage of Bahamut (Origins and Virgin Soul) openings and endings reaction.
The Manga is not only slow, it is 83 chapters in 14 years slow. Also a few short chapters later on, so not sure if there is enough content for a second anime season yet.
The ending is sung by Kurosaki Maon who sadly passed away this year. She sang a lot of bangers, her last one was the ending of "Reincarnated as a sword"
I have been recommending this on and off for about a year now, Im happy that you finally got to see it :D. Its a shorter show, but its probably one of my favorites. There is probably 1, maybe 2 scenes that are not exactly sfw, but I would definitely recommend it for a youtube slot. It does have a bit of a darker feel, but there are plenty of funny moments of comedic relief that lighten the mood. There is plenty of blood, violence and badassery along with a healthy dose of humor. Its hard to not spoil much, but in short you would probably like it.
its in my top 10 best animes of all time. its very action packed and the characters are all amazing. (just name dropping) Naoshi Kanno, followed by Butch Cassidy are my fav characters
Finally a Drifters reaction! I recommended this multiple times from the beginning! I would love to see your reactions to the openings and endings of Sangatsu no Lion, Kakushigoto, Little Witch Academia, The Promised Neverland and Maou-jou de Oyasumi!
basically, Drifters is about historical people who end up being transfer at the end of their story to another world to confront other historical people who have been transferred by another person. it's really unique and is one of the more serious "isekai" that i know, i should watch it again and watch the episode that i haven't watched (i watched it when there was only 12 episodes, but there have been new ones after.)
Really enjoyed this anime. I even rewatched it 2 or 3 times, hoping season 2 will come out eventually, but it's been 7 years almost. Such unique concept too, historical figures from all periords of time sent to fantasy isekai worlld fighting to rule over it.
The original manga author of this and Hellsing is Kouta Hirano, so that’s who you can attribute the one eye motif and general writing style to. I think you should check out some of the original Japanese version of the Digimon openings or OSTs like Brave Heart or Makuake. It’s so much better than some of what the English dub had. The original Japanese openings have some really good songs the English dub never used, some countries got the songs in their language but not the English release in the States. Same for the OST’s that played when the Digimon digivolved too.
I think I read it somewhere right after Drifters ended season 1 that they canceled production of the 2nd season. Am I wrong? If so, I'm happy about it.
The song used in the opening (Gospel of the Throttle) was actually originally made by the American rock band Minutes to Midnight. The song was remixed and sped up for use in the opening, which is awesome.
I don't want to spam but I have recommended many times the anime "Sangatsu no lion". It's a very impressive anime series with experts. The op and ed songs are performed by famous singers and bands such as BUMP OF CHICKE, YUKI, Kenshi Yonezu. The music and images in sangatsu no lion are full of art (just watch the op and ed you will understand). I want to remind you that this is the best anime series of 2017, in the top 20 best anime series of all time voted by viewers. Unfortunately, this anime is not really popular, simply because anime viewers often accidentally ignore it just because its genre is not too attractive to viewers. That's why you shouldn't completely listen to the majority of anime viewers. There are always good anime that are overlooked by the masses, they are hidden gems that are loved by movie professionals but are not known to the community. Sangatsu no lion is a work that shows you the strength of the art of animation that live-action movies can't do. An artistic style from one of the studios that used to be number 1 in Japan_shaft (unfortunately they have gone downhill). Madoka magica, bakemonogarati, sangatsu no lion are all manufactured from shaft studio. It's not by chance that Bakemonogatari is so famous and appreciated (a work that any anime fan must see once, if you don't know, the "love is war" director has learned a lot in the shaft style), or madoka opened a new anime genre (dark mahoshojo). Sangatsu is a warm story of everyday life under the events of life, it is more touching than violet evergarden many times.
Day 72 of recommending the Beyblade openings. There are the Japanese ones and the English ones. The English version has one opening for a generation, and that for the 1st and 2nd generation. The 3rd gen has one op for one season. But the Japanese version has multiple ops for a season in any gen. You should definitely check both versions out. I made playlists on my channel, so you don't need to search, cause in those compilations are a few off and not in the correct order. Thanks for checking out!
Asking until other people agree: The opening theme for Devils Line (Eclipse by Aoi Shouta). The anime was rather good as it is somewhat similar to Tokyo Ghoul and Vanitas no Karte, however the OP song is really good. I know nobody watched the anime, but if y'all see this comment, give it a try ;)
It's great anime!!! Watch it Luke, it's really great anime. Basically it's about historical figures end up in another world after they died. It got so many historical figures, like Oda Nobunaga, Janne d'Arc, Gilles de Rais, Grigori Rasputin, Hannibal Barca, Scipio Africanus, Nasu no Yoichi, Minamoto no Yoshitsune. Just watch it luke.
Drifters is the second manga series of Kouta Hirano, who also did Hellsing. The plot is historical figures transported to another world just before their death to fight in some weird war to determine the fate of this fantasy world they are now in, but there's no time continuity. Oda Nobunaga is already there when the main pov character Shimazu Toyohisa arrives, which makes sense considering Shimazu died in a war about 20 years after Nobunaga was killed. However, there is also a 20th century fighter pilot and an entire aircraft carrier that seem to have been there long before Shimazu shows up. It's pretty clear that the two entities behind the whole thing are able to pick from any point in history whenever they wish. If you've seen Hellsing, you will immediately feel comfortable with this series. I honestly loved the anime and wish we had more than the single season we have.
The guy who wrote and illustrated the manga Hellsing which later got made into the Hellsing Ultimate anime loves history. So the characters you see in Drifters are people who lived in real life. His thoughts were, "Ok, Hellsing's done, what next...hmm why not put all these famous people across the world into a fantasy world and have them fight it out?" So you got Drifters. As for some of the characters here's a link to them. People who love Japan its history will take notice of some of the famous people from their past. Like Yoichi who's name is usually associated in entertainment, like comics and videogames, with a bow and arrows such as "The Legendary Bow of Yoichi; then you have the infamous Oda Nobunaga. A person, who as eccentric as he was referred to himself back when he ruled as the "Demon King of the 6th Heaven." Anyway I'm just geeking out because of all the characters Oda Nobunaga made me laugh the most in Drifters. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Drifters_characters
YES this anime is sooooo GOOOOD, One of the best Isekai I watched. Hope you react to the series although the second season is still unknown when to release because there is not enough source material to adapt.
I recommend the Gosick anime, it has 1 opening and 2 endings. The music, especially the endings are quite good. Opening: ua-cam.com/video/iOrkj_MFXm8/v-deo.html Ending 1: ua-cam.com/video/HyHx4oNGGOQ/v-deo.html Ending 2: ua-cam.com/video/tckg-WQ5sQs/v-deo.html
Most anime/manga studios have something of a distinctive look to their style. The most obvious example that's impossible not to recognize once you know their work, is the manga studio Clamp (in my opinion). Clamp has a very unique way of drawing characters, to say the least. Their most notable works are Card Captor Sakura, Chobits, and Magic Knights Rayearth, all of which have been made into anime. I don't think you've heard of any of these as they are somewhat old now, but one I know you have heard of is Code Geass, for which Clamp provided the character designs.
Please react to the "Shakugan no Shana" openings. It´s a fairly old anime and Season 3 was kinda chaotic but the music was really good. Especially Opening 5 (Season 3 Op1) was straight up fire! Also i recommend to listen to the full song from opening 5 (Light my fire from Kotoko) because it´s such a banger and gets a bit chopped up in the opening version.
Day 2 of requesting a reaction to the following openings: Chivalry of a Failed Knight op Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress op Darling in the Franxx op Kiznaiver op You could make a multiple op reaction for this. Thank you!
The premise for the anime is: what if different warlords and prominent historical figures from Earth got sent to another fantasy themed world (isekai'd) and started a territorial war. It doesn't focus on a particular time in history, so you can see modern warfare vs older warfare. The combat is really good tbh, but it's been a long time since I watched, so I don't remember if there's a lot of monologuing. As for recommendations, if you liked Gospel of a Throttle, I would recommend checking out the song and opening for the anime "Juuni Taisen Zodiac War" called "Rapture" by the band "Panorama Panama Town".
A lot of animation studios do have specific style choices that make it into their shows, to the point where you can even tell who made it just by how the characters look. Studios like CLAMP and Trigger, for example, tend to be instantly recognizable. CLAMP, because their character designs have existed since the 80s, and Trigger, because of how they tend to exaggerate character movement and because they probably snuck that 4-pointed star effect into one of their shots.
Drifters came out after Hellsing Ultimate and was even teased/announced in a special episode of Hellsing Ultimate and made by the same studio. It's a shorter show as of now and is focused on both action and interactions between historical figures that were somehow thrown into another world, with the term "Drifter" referring to said people usually. I think you would like it, overall a solid 8/10 show and unfortunately short as of now. The animations become slightly worse around the second half for a little bit and it can be argued wether the story is amazing, or weird, but it is definitely interesting and entertaining.
Drifters is a pretty fun show, but yeah the music on on another level. I have seen it recommended before, but I think its easy for things to get lost in the sea of comments. Sadly the show hasn't gotten a second season yet, but there is always hope with all the old shows getting new seasons or reboots lately. A show that I have seen recommended, and recommend myself for you to react to the OP/ED for is Asobi Asobase. It gets lost among the more popular suggestions, but I am sure that you will love the ending song Inkya Impulse. You will definitely want to watch the full version. Its one of those shows that tricks you with the opening, and the ending reveals a completely different side of the show. Also the OP/ED are sung by the cast which is always really impressive.
This anime is my screen savor on my phone since it left such an impression I’ve been waiting for season 2 ever since. Imo this is one of the best new gens to come out in a while.
I remember i listened to one of the cover by Dima Lancaster, pretty dope to intensify the songs by adding more layer of instrument. Forgot to tell that Dima Lancaster also made Genesis, an opening for Dimension W anime
Personally, I like Drifters way more than Hellsing Ultimate. The story is much more interesting and engaging, and the characters feel even more maniacal and charismatic.
Drifters is as intense as the first OP, the artstyle is unique, it's bloody, insane and stars some famous and infamous characters from world history. If nothing else it's worth watching only to hear the OP before every episode!
Another one off the list! I'd been suggesting this one for a little while, so I was glad when it peaked your interest last time. It's a cool intro, and the show is pretty good too, but unfortunately it only got 1 season and it's nowhere near close to conclusion, and we're unlikely to get anything new anytime soon. Shame really. Anyway, the list continues; Godzilla: Singular Point Sakugan: Labyrinth Marker Record of Ragnarok (1 + 2) Deca-Dence Akudama Drive Cross Ange (1 + 2) The Dungeon of Black Company Worlds Finest Assassin... Astra: Lost in Space Revenger Problem Children Are Coming from Another World, Aren't They? Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress Gate (1 + 2) Erased
Love your reactions!! Drifters is an amazing not-so-known anime, and it should definitively be on the watch-list. On another note, I would like to recommend the Ao Ashi Anime Openings and Endings, also, I'm not sure if you already reacted to Erased (Boku dake ga Inai Machi), if not, I would recommend its Opening and Ending as well. Cheers!!
The anime itself is f..cking amazing, you definitely should check it out. About the origin of it, it was a funny situation, because Drifters are written and drawn by the sole author of all of the Hellsing and the the anime looks like Hellsing Ultimate because the studio and the staff of both are absolutely the same))
Day 2 of helping @nobody_2.0 recommend the Beyblade openings. There are the Japanese ones and the English ones. This is SUCH A GOOD ANIME. Like top 20, maybe top 10 anime of all time. The anime lives up to the opening. I waited years for another season and never got it though Recommending the openings to Fist of the North Star for the 20th time. If you like this, you’ll like that. The anime itself isn’t as good as Drifters, but the openings are awesome. Fist of the North Star. Please someone else recommend this so we can finally get a reaction. 🙏
Definitely a brutal anime in certain parts. However also very funny at points. More than a worthy watch. It's an experience. Also as one of the other comments stated. It's like all the historical figures of this world wound up in another world post death, and also teamed up while fighting each other
It is hard to believe that the production of the Drifters' OP was done by only one person. Maon Kurosaki, who sang the ED, has passed away and her voice can no longer be heard forever.
Imagine the most badass people from whole human history transferred into a fantasy world and fighting on 2 different sides of eternal conflict. AND it is animated by Hellsing Ultimate crew. Man, its a wild ride!
Since you like MYTH & ROID, I suggest you to give a check out in "Bubuki Buranki" or "BBK/BRNK". The anime have 26 Ep, with 2 OP's and 2 ED's that are great. The 1st ED is made by MYTH & ROID. In terms of animation is a CG show. So is something a little different to what you are used to.
ive recommended Drifters in the 100 anime video and there it is haha love to see. Well i enjoyed Drifters and i hope they continue the series. I would guess you will like it. In the end it is a short series so its not that heavy to watch either.
You know, I actually have a whole list on my desktop with a bunch of anime with openings I think are underrated. *Of course, Drifters is in it kk* 😁 There's also Kamisama Dolls, which is an anime I never found anyone besides me who have watched it, but I love the opening! Boogiepop and Others has an opening by Myth&Roid. The World's Finest Assassin is a recent one with a SICK opening too. And I have no idea why that otome game isekai anime (Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu) had such a good opening, but somehow it did and made the list too kkkk XD Anyway, Drifters songs are awesome! The word has to spread!! 🤩🤩
To Explain Drifters, Have you ever imagine What happen if famous historical chars that changed the world were alive in the same time & how things will change in war? That's basically drifters, but most of the historical chars in the show are from Japanese history.

Drifters in an interesting anime series addapted from a manga. It is a good show but sadly short one :D 12 episodes only soooo not that much. But you would probably enjoy it a bit. It is better paced than Hellsing Ultimate.
Well Drifters is a show about important historically persons DRIFTING AWAY in a place where a Bureaucrat guy looks at them and say, you can go there and throw them in doors
Drifters's opening is a mood, I put it at the same level as Hero from one punch man, it just put you in the perfect mood to watch the anime and never skip it. Drifters is a great anime, can't call it a masterpiece, but it's pretty good, it's only crime it is being unfinished.
I forgot to mention, Bulletproof Dreams album of Minutes til midnight is a banger, you should listen to them, i just remember how i got so much into them just because this song, man... good memories.
I still wonder what is doing those Patreons that never recommend the openings of "Shingeki no Bahamut I: Genesis" y "Shingeki no Bahamut II: Virgin Soul"
Most of Minutes Til Midnight is in the same vain. Weird to see what I'm pretty sure is an American band in an Anime. But then again you got stuff like Bastard!! which is pretty much Metal the world. Bastard!! is also a series with a fantastic OP and EP.
Actually anime gave away some important fact that the people in the anime has historical/religious figures fighting each other in a fantasy world. It's basically Hellsing the FATE. Edit: After reading this, I felt like out of line.
The Drifters anime is amazing, but sadly it only got one season and i think an OVA. It's basically about famous historical figures that get isekai'd to a fantasy setting and have to fight another group of historical figures
its a very special Artstyle but its still good. Drifters is basicly 1 World where various Historical or "important" people get forced in from different Timelines Its (sadly) only 12 Episodes with a 99% Chance to never get more. Like No Game No Life.
I enjoyed Drifters for sure. Give The Hero is Overpowered but Overly Cautious opening a listen by Myth & Roid, Luke you said it was interesting in the 100 openings but it only had the Japanese name on it.
WELL... this anime looks INSANE!!!!

Anyway I'm just geeking out because of all the characters Oda Nobunaga made me laugh the most in Drifters.

Opening: ua-cam.com/video/iOrkj_MFXm8/v-deo.html
Ending 1: ua-cam.com/video/HyHx4oNGGOQ/v-deo.html
Ending 2: ua-cam.com/video/tckg-WQ5sQs/v-deo.html
Highly recommended!
I absolutely LOVE Drifters! So much fun! Definitely should give it a watch. It's one that I actually bought I watch it often.
Shakugan no shana, thats something i havent heard in over a decade,
Day 2 of requesting a reaction to the following openings:
Chivalry of a Failed Knight op
Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress op
Darling in the Franxx op
Kiznaiver op
You could make a multiple op reaction for this. Thank you!
first two is amazing as hell
Kiznaiver's OP feels like I'm flying.
laaaaaaaaaay
youuuuuuuuuuur
haaaaaaaaaaAAANDS
on me
The premise for the anime is: what if different warlords and prominent historical figures from Earth got sent to another fantasy themed world (isekai'd) and started a territorial war.
Glad you decided to check these out. Drifters is an amazing piece of work.
i think the op from anime gangsta is something you would like
My second favorite incomplete anime, and such a great op. Show is definitely worth checking out even without proper ending.
09:44 the disappointment in Luke's face is completeley visible 🤣
Finally!! Been waiting for this reaction!
Kuroko no basuke's opening and ending song is a huge banger, hugely recommended
IT is here! i was asking for this about 1 or 2 years ago xD
listen "gate" opening 2, the opening and the anime are top tier
point to be taking in consideration:
The Opening is the Remix version of Gospel of the throttle.
Some opening/ending mix to watch:
Ergo Proxy
Rideback
Devilman Crybaby
Darling in Franxx
Drifters is a great anime! Sadly it was not a hit but I remember loving it so you should definitely give it a try!
Anyway, the list continues;
Godzilla: Singular Point
Sakugan: Labyrinth Marker
Record of Ragnarok (1 + 2)
Deca-Dence
Akudama Drive
Cross Ange (1 + 2)
The Dungeon of Black Company
Worlds Finest Assassin...
Astra: Lost in Space
Revenger
Problem Children Are Coming from Another World, Aren't They?
Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress
Gate (1 + 2)
Erased
The English version has one opening for a generation, and that for the 1st and 2nd generation. The 3rd gen has one op for one season. But the Japanese version has multiple ops for a season in any gen. You should definitely check both versions out. @nobody_2.0 made playlists on his channel, so you don't need to search, cause in those compilations are a few off and not in the correct order. Thanks for checking out!
This is SUCH A GOOD ANIME. Like top 20, maybe top 10 anime of all time. The anime lives up to the opening. I waited years for another season and never got it though
Recommending the openings to Fist of the North Star for the 20th time. If you like this, you’ll like that. The anime itself isn’t as good as Drifters, but the openings are awesome. Fist of the North Star. Please someone else recommend this so we can finally get a reaction. 🙏
Drifters is from the same author as Hellsing series, so that is why the art style is so similar.
Definitely a brutal anime in certain parts. However also very funny at points. More than a worthy watch. It's an experience. Also as one of the other comments stated. It's like all the historical figures of this world wound up in another world post death, and also teamed up while fighting each other
I recommend to you seraph of the end( owari no seraph ) openings and endings!
Drifters is an anime about popular historical figures getting transported into a fantasy world to fight each other.
Gundam iron blooded orphans opening 1-5
Gundam iron blooded orphans ending 1-4
It is hard to believe that the production of the Drifters' OP was done by only one person.
Maon Kurosaki, who sang the ED, has passed away and her voice can no longer be heard forever.
I didn't know until today. I love the high school of the dead eds. She was an amazing talent and will be greatly missed
You really RALLY have to watch Drifters. It's so fucking good
Imagine the most badass people from whole human history transferred into a fantasy world and fighting on 2 different sides of eternal conflict. AND it is animated by Hellsing Ultimate crew. Man, its a wild ride!
Thanks for sparking mood for watching this anime again gonna watch it or 7th time lol
I recommend Wolf's Rain and Ergo Proxy.
There is another amazing Opening theme for a completely different anime. Its titled "Chaos Drifters" for extra confusion!
ive recommended Drifters in the 100 anime video and there it is haha love to see. Well i enjoyed Drifters and i hope they continue the series. I would guess you will like it. In the end it is a short series so its not that heavy to watch either.
You know, I actually have a whole list on my desktop with a bunch of anime with openings I think are underrated. *Of course, Drifters is in it kk* 😁
There's also Kamisama Dolls, which is an anime I never found anyone besides me who have watched it, but I love the opening!
Boogiepop and Others has an opening by Myth&Roid. The World's Finest Assassin is a recent one with a SICK opening too.
And I have no idea why that otome game isekai anime (Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu) had such a good opening, but somehow it did and made the list too kkkk XD
Anyway, Drifters songs are awesome! The word has to spread!! 🤩🤩
DImension W and Gangsta and maybe beyound the boundry are some that have fallen through the cracks of views
Drifters is one of my favorite anime. It's so ridiculous that every over the top thing it does seems entirely normal in context.
To Explain Drifters, Have you ever imagine What happen if famous historical chars that changed the world were alive in the same time & how things will change in war? That's basically drifters, but most of the historical chars in the show are from Japanese history.
I love this opening but I usually listen to the Remix version!! Give it a try!

Drifters in an interesting anime series addapted from a manga. It is a good show but sadly short one :D 12 episodes only soooo not that much. But you would probably enjoy it a bit. It is better paced than Hellsing Ultimate.
I completely forgot about this Gem of an OP.
Well Drifters is a show about important historically persons DRIFTING AWAY in a place where a Bureaucrat guy looks at them and say, you can go there and throw them in doors
Drifters = more action paced
Hellsing= balance more on dialogue and fights, with a different worldbuilding
And I cant decide my favorite
Drifters's opening is a mood, I put it at the same level as Hero from one punch man, it just put you in the perfect mood to watch the anime and never skip it.
Drifters is a great anime, can't call it a masterpiece, but it's pretty good, it's only crime it is being unfinished.
I forgot to mention, Bulletproof Dreams album of Minutes til midnight is a banger, you should listen to them, i just remember how i got so much into them just because this song, man... good memories.
The anime is basically "Important Historical people battle royale in another world", it's the most deranged thematic 🔥
You should watch ReCreators op1 and op2. They are great.
He already did
Drifters is awesome anime,Toyohisa is legend
Incredible show. Incredible openings
Bastard!! is also a series with a fantastic OP and EP.
the raven of the inner palace op and ed
Drifters is one of my favorites
shingeki no bahamut is another crazy good op i think you havent seen yet.
Op and Ending from the anime Karakuris Circus
think a huge battle royal but with famous people from all over history of the world, that's drifters
To resume, this is historical people fighting in a fantasy World Jesus who is fed up of humanity and wants to exterminate it
Allegedly Jesus
Actually anime gave away some important fact that the people in the anime has historical/religious figures fighting each other in a fantasy world. It's basically Hellsing the FATE.
Edit: After reading this, I felt like out of line.
I enjoyed Drifters. Historical bad asses are transported to battlefield in another world.
The Drifters anime is amazing, but sadly it only got one season and i think an OVA. It's basically about famous historical figures that get isekai'd to a fantasy setting and have to fight another group of historical figures
it wasn't bad but it is one of many anime that never got renewed sooo... up to you.
its a very special Artstyle but its still good.
Drifters is basicly 1 World where various Historical or "important" people get forced in from different Timelines
Its (sadly) only 12 Episodes with a 99% Chance to never get more.
Like No Game No Life.
Watch it! Watch it! Watch it!
I enjoyed Drifters for sure. Give The Hero is Overpowered but Overly Cautious opening a listen by Myth & Roid, Luke you said it was interesting in the 100 openings but it only had the Japanese name on it.
