I've been learning for several months now. I have a practice pad but I haven't used it yet or have I practiced any rudiments. I just want to jam out haha. Something cool happened to me the other day. I came across a guy on Facebook playing a song. It starts with a cool Tom beat. I watched it a few times and I kinda figured it out. It's not 100% accurate but I can play it.
If you're having fun you're doing it right! And if you're playing something today that you couldn't play yesterday, you're really doing it right 💪 I don't get hung up on playing parts exactly as the other drummer did when I'm doing it for fun. They play it a little different every time too. When you get to a point where you want to build some technical skills, remember it can be done without a huge time commitment 😉 Keep having fun exploring! 🥁🤘
