Fantastic interview. Reggie 'loved' her? Only in a way the way that was a controlling obsession which would now be seen as abusive and rightly so. As a depressive I totally understand why Frances died the way she did. Depression can sometimes be a terminal illness and it kills you. I thank god every day for the advancement of anti depressants for keeping me alive in the same way insulin does a diabetic.
Ron didn't like Fran and the mother didn't like her, the mother felt like she was taking her son away, Reg was after Fran's brother and got rejected, Reg married Fran for a cover up, he never had sex with her and she wanted an annulment and left him, when he went to prison he got warned for trying it on with guys, it was common knowledge that she had tried to kill herself in the past which was good for a member of the Krays, she didn't commit suicide.
This is BRILLIANT! I LOVE Flanagan! She’s so glamorous and such a brilliant story teller - have read her book several times! I also love your interview style - thank you for this - thoroughly enjoyed it! ❤️
She is still defending the Krays, what she seems to forget Francis left a diary of the abuse, mentally she suffered from Reggie, when he was drinking, which was most of the time, she had no life. She was his possession. She had changed her name by deed poll back to Kray. That was why her poor mother wanted Shea back on her tombstone, her daughter would have wanted that. Francis put in for a divorce, but Reggie said he would handle it when in fact he dawdled and stalled it. She spent 3 months in Hackney mental hospital after the wedding getting Electric Therapy, which didnt help her depression. She was terrified of Ronnie. The poor girl was trapped she had no life, plus she was extremely vulnerable and malleable, because of her mental health issues. I think she got married thinking things would change, but they only got worse. The marriage basically lasted 2 months. She moved back to her parents, then went holidays herself or with friends, but he couldnt leave her alone,as he was obsessed with her, even Father Hetherington wouldnt marry them, because he was right. They couldnt make each other happy. Imagine taking your young and beautiful bride to live downstairs from your crazy brother Ronnie, which Reggie did in Cedra Court. Leave her in the house all day and night. Then go up drinking at your brothers. Maureen Flanagan got that wrong Frances tried when she was 13 to take her own life, but after the wedding she tried twice, her father found her once with her head in the gas oven. On her third try she succeeeded with tablets,at her brothers home. There was no escaping the Krays. They had broken up many times, but got back together. She was only 15 when she first met him very impressionable. Her poor parents only tried to protect her,and as she was trying to divorce him, they had every reason to put a slip underneath the wedding dress. He thought she was a doll a trophy like a possession,Reggie took everything when he went to see Frances body, left no mementoes for her parenrs, thats how vindictive and spiteful he could be,the parents knew how dangerous the Krays were, thats how they didnt want their vulnerable daughter being married to them. Their was no doubt he felt guilty about her death, but of course blamed her parents for it,but she wasnt allowed a normal life. To go shopping herself etc. She felt trapped, and wanted out. What life would she have had. Trying to meet someone else none. He would have had her followed. Her taking her own life was her only way out,she was another victim of the Krays. Even when he went to her grave. He saw flowers from her parents and brother in their pots at the grave. He tossed them aside in a bush. Grieving or not. That was the kind of spiteful man he could be,and also it didnt take him long to find another beautiful woman Christine Boyce, although she has never mentioned what their relationship was like. She obviously had a lucky escape when they got jailed for life. Maureen Flanagan was very fond of their mother, but she didnt know what Frances went through. Regardless of Frances mental health issues. Living with the Krays would drive anybody sane into a downward spiral of depression
So you witnessed this all did you ? Saw it all for yourself ? No? Thought Not. I suggest you read less biased books or watch interviews where people had a grudge against Ron and his brother, the same people that reaped all the benefits of being associated with them but turned against them when they were arrested . Also, you can’t say what goes on in some one’s mind and your account of their marriage is based on second guessing . Frances and Reg loved each other but unfortunately were emotionally unsuitable and as for Ron who you also vilify, you wasn’t there so you can only make assumptions which you have now turned into facts . Ron was a very fascinating, complex and gorgeous man who through no fault of his own had a severe mental illness which caused him to behave erratically but like I’ve said you wasn’t there so can’t really say what went on in their private lives !!!!
And just because he met Christine after Frances passed away doesn’t mean that he stopped loving her. I always find it interesting how many people like yourself seem to know every facet about the brothers or think they do aswell as having an intense dislike at the same time . Why bother watching videos about them if that’s how you feel . Just saying.
@@tina5203 Ron was a psychopathic organiser of a sex ring,he procured young men/boys for sex parties for the rich and powerful. He was a murderer and serial rapist. Maybe get your own facts right before criticising other people.

I’m not sure it was mentioned, but in case anyone’s not aware, this lady was Violet Kray’s hairdresser and visited the the Kray family home to do her hair. I believe this went on for quite a few years in the 60s and she became friendly with the family.
And yet again another sad story of how Francis was a weak person who was afraid of her own shadow! before casting judgement after reading a few books or watching a few films try finding out about the real Frances ... she was sassy, bold, fiery, beautiful and loyal (despite her mental health) ... no one knew her better than her own niece and i for one choose to believe her niece, who is more grounded, truthful and loyal than all the band waggoners who claim to know Frances better than her own family!
