My 9 year old son is making soap for his science fair project. I measured out the lye and added it to the oils, but he measured out all the oils, and water, and picked all the colors, and scent he wanted to use. He has to create a posterboard talking about the process and all steps involved in making the soap. He didn't even need to look up all the technical terms because he has learned them from you and Katie Carson. I tried to get him to pick out some mild scents so that way I would not get a headache, but nope Natures Garden is out to torcher parents with some of the names and scents they come up with. My house smells like Fruit Loops, Monkey Farts, and Reindeer Poop. Those bars are going to the kids, but I did get him to make a Lavender one for adults so they could get a sample piece too.
I am watching your videos and they are ALL chalked full of information. I love that you explain everything you are doing and why. It is so refreshing to not feel left in the dark as I am learning to be a soaper. Thank you. ❤❤
I love making soap in the cake mold; what I do is give them away as birthday gifts to friends and family + I do list them on my website! This batch turned out so beautifully and I bet they smell amazing! Thanks so much for sharing! Enjoy the upcoming week! Take Care☺☺☺☺
Absolutely beautiful and looks so realistic as a cake, love the swirls through each piece and the frosting on the top looks so yummy. Thank you for sharing Ellen 😊x
I use this same mold to make Thanksgiving soaps with pumpkin fragrance oil and molded pumpkins on top with the ‘whipped cream’ frosting. I then package them in cellophane topped pie slice shaped boxes. So much fun! Love the ones you made here…got a new idea!
Absolutely beautiful ❤️, you are such an inspiration and wishing we lived closer to each other as I’m sure we’d be close friends. Have a beautiful day and thank you for such a wonderful video.
Oh wow! So pretty! I made some with Peach Bellini fragrance and peach embed slices on top. I portioned off a small amount of brown for the “crust” and it turned out so cute. I use a liquid colorant advised by my soap class in clear M&P and the peaches looked edible! I’ve never done the whipped cream look on top but will try it next time. Did you pour off the piping amount before you did your pot swirl? I’m so terrible at estimating the right amounts and don’t want to run out of “frosting” before I get to all the bars. Also, thank you for sharing another great recipe with us! I’ll try it next time I have Almond oil, it looks perfect!
Yes, I poured off what I thought I would need for frosting after trace. I'm not good a guesstimating the amounts either and usually end up with extra, which become soap flowers❣️
Love this, I may try in a cupcake mold, I do have a round mold but I am not sure how I would cut it. What program do you use to edit your videos? Am trying to figure this out and not tech savvy! 😊 Thank you for your videos, enjoy them very much!
New soaper here....Do you have alot of customers that will purchase soap with food fragrances.....I myself would love them but I have had some say they only like clean scents???? As I said I am new so only a few people surveyed that are family or friends....

What a great gift idea ❣️
If the slices had a crumb looking layer, I would think they were real slices of chocolate cream pie😋so yummy looking.
Cheers 👍 💕
Lovely bars. I use 20 oz oil for this mold to include piping on top.
A lady after my own heart. I’m getting ready to do something- a cheesecake, a beer or something. Looks so beautiful! So delicious! Thank you🌹
I love "yummy" soaps❣️
Love them! Can't wait for that smell-a-vision.
Me too 🤣💕❣️
Mil gracias Ellen 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌹🌹
Love the idea of the slices. Great alternative to a traditional bar of soap. They do look a bit yummy!
Thank you 💖
I KNOW! A lot of her soaps look delicious! It’s just not right since we can’t eat them. 😂❤💕
Oh! This would make a beautiful chocolate cream pie, if you layered the soap. I may have to do that... 🤔😄
Yum, love that idea❣️

I do all my filming and editing with my iPad.
they are adorable, but how much do they weigh? they look huge!
They are huge, they were over 6 oz each
How long do you wait before you start piping? I always start too soon and wind up with a big mess!
It really depends on the fragrance and how fast it sets up... I just keep testing the frosting until it's ready.
Elen could talk about the silk you add to your soaps where do.i get from the name❤ alicia
Here's a link for some Tussah Silk: amzn.to/45LWHCG
💖😘🤗
How do you price something like that for selling?
Pricing products is a huge subject 😉 Modern Soapmaking has some great articles on it.
New soaper here....Do you have alot of customers that will purchase soap with food fragrances.....I myself would love them but I have had some say they only like clean scents???? As I said I am new so only a few people surveyed that are family or friends....
Yes, I've found that folks like both the "clean" scents and foodie scents😉
What can I used instead of palm oil
If you change any of the oils, you'll need to run the numbers thru soap calc.
