      Just show some compassion and comprehension , maybe it really hurts her to talk about it (normal lol ) that's why she didn't mentioned her friend. Words are powerful and by using "passenger" maybe she avoid thinking too much about it. On top of that it wasn't abt her dead friend but really about her hobby and how she manages to pursue her passion after this ... Just let her it's her intimacy and private life. Let her deal with it in her own way, she is not forgetting her friend by not mentioning what happened ...

    • @AmeGllrd
      @AmeGllrd 7 років тому +58

      ***** who told you she had forgotten her friend ?! Y'all are so judgemental I've never seen that ! The interview is about her passion not about the details of the accident ! Go read some psychanalitic book or philosophy about memory , you'll see its so much more than you think.
      It's not because I talk about useless things that I have forgotten my cousin who died in a car accident and iam not denying her when iam not talking about her.
      If you want sensationalism and drama go read some shitty people magazine.
      Have a nice day

    A disabled life is still a life worth living. Please like if you agree.
    EDIT - I honestly did not expect my comment to get this many likes, but I'm so glad it has. I hope that someday everyone will be accommodating and accepting and compassionate towards disabled people, regardless of the disability. We are not tragedies or burdens, we are people who live life differently than most.

    Wow! People are so judgemental. About 15 years ago my brother and my husband were in the car driving from lunch back to work and my brother dozed off for a couple of seconds while driving and ended up having an accident, everyone was ok, but he was definitely not drunk. So no its not always from drinking. I dont drink and hate when people drive and drink, but you should Get your facts before you comment that someone was drinking just cause they dozed off.

    My husband fell asleep behind me (following me home) , his car swerved across traffic, missing every car, went airborne & knocked down an electric pole which smashed a parked car as he stopped right before going in a house. His new car was totaled, but he was asleep the whole time/did not get one scratch. I thank god every day for keeping him here. So happy this girl also had that chance ❤

  • @Maryxx95
    @Maryxx95 7 років тому +177

    Same thing happened with my mom. She dozed off for 3 seconds on her way home and when she opened her eyes her car was upside down and on top of another car. She was 3 houses down from our home too. Her car and the neighbors car was totaled, but fortunately she was able to walk away without any major injuries except back pain. And our neighbors were nice enough to not take up any legal action against her. It's not always alcohol.

    It's happened to me. Didn't think I was that tired and before I knew it, I scraped the barricade doing 100km/hr on the highway. Never saw it coming. I just slowly dozed off. and I'm so thankful that we were able to walk away from it. I've learnt my lesson. At the first signs of fatigue in Australia we say STOP, REVIVE, SURVIVE. ❤

    I can relate so hard to her statement about being happier and more content with herself after what happened to her. I was very dramatically put into a medicial indused coma two years ago, after I was diagnosed with kidney failure and my numbers were so bad that I was very close to dying. Now two years laters, after ten months of dialysis and one kidney transplant, i can honestly say i'm happy that those things happened to me, because I am so much happier and content with myself now that I have ever been.

    I can't believe how nasty and judgmental some of these comments are... It is very possible to doze off behind the wheel without alcohol being involved - she was probably lacking sleep from being out late and knew her friends depended on her driving, so she made a bad call which will haunt her for the rest of her life. No regular person deserves to be partially or entirely paralyzed, and I am sure she is struggling to get through every day and is suffering far more than what this short video with "up-beat music" is portraying. Show some compassion and stop wasting your time with hate 😊

    Guys, people can doze off like that. It doesn’t necessarily mean she was drinking and driving, in I’ve known some people who have dozed off while driving and almost gotten in car accidents if it wasn’t for someone with them that was in the car. And she probably didn’t mention her friend because it was either too hard for her to bring up those memories, or they could’ve her certain questions that didn’t require her telling them that

Maybe the awareness shes bringing has nothing to do with drinking and youre the alcoholic. Fyi as someone whos had a serious injury being awareness to getting your life back after a tragedy IS bringing awareness. A persons self confidence can go all the way down the toliet after a mishap like this.

    Instead of motivating this brave girl u all have to bring her down. These comments are disgusting. How dare u act like u were with her during the accident. How dare u accuse her of MURDER without knowing shit. Innocent until proven guilty, which is exactly why she does not deserve to be the subject of your criticism. Your using your fucking fingers (a blessing that she no longer has) to place blame onto this girl. Like being paralysed isn't bad enough people have to always other people down no matter what

    I am amazed at how many self righteous people comment as if they have never had an accident. This is a tv show that gives a short time limit on what you can say. You don't get to tell the whole story....you tell the part that they want you to tell. Who says she isn't or won't ever be an advocate against drunk driving (if that was the case). ...The show focused on how she found a way to get through each day. She may very well have days where she is guilt ridden. Am I the only one who has an ounce of compassion that viewed this video?

    too many young people ruin the lives of others and themselves by driving recklessly, don't judge me for pointing it out because when I was a young driver I did everything to insure I was responsible because you never know who else is in the cars around you as as much as I want to keep myself safe others matter too

    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ
    if you and your friends are at a party, and you are drunk, tipsy, or tired, PLEASE don’t drive. Call an uber, a taxi, or even drive with a friend who is sober. It’s not worth your life to drive home. 💓
    and no, i’m not assuming she was drunk or tipsy or anything, it was just the scenario she was in that made her seem like she was drinking

    Last year when we had to make a long car drive we almost had an accident that could hurt us really bad or even kill us. My mom who was in the passenger seat fell asleep and when she woke up she saw my dad had fallen asleep (he was driving) and she woke him up just in time. Apparently we were seconds away from crashing into a truck.. this video made me realise how thankful we should me

    I don't see why people are praising her. SHE got behind the wheels knowing she was tired. SHE didn't do anything about it. Yes, gladly she survived but it's still her fault. If you get behind the wheels sleepy, what do you expect? She could have easily pulled over but no she continued driving. Sad that she now goes through this but this could have easily been avoided

    I don't understand people who drive when they are that tired. My family really raised me to acknowledge if I was at risk driving. If my sister or I were too tired to drive someone would come get us even if its a few hours away or we'd get a hotel to rest. It's ridiculous to not realize you're tired and tempted to doze. Sleepy driving is almost as bad as drunk driving, reaction time is severely hampered.
