    4 years later but I am dealing with my second dead battery. Might try this if I can find a winter plug in source. I usually store the ATV in a barn with no power.

    this is great idea-does that battery tender plug mount up to that plug you mounted perfect or did you need to buy an adapter for the male and female ends to fit?

      It's a standard plug. I had to get an extension to reach the battery.

    hey mate when you use a hole saw on plastic reverse the drill after you get the center drill in, it cuts a neater hole with way less spalding, lessons learned in aquaponics

    What's the difference between this and just keeping it on a tender? I always have mine on a tender but it still dies fast when I take it out for a ride. I have a yfz 450

    Been meaning to do this for awhile so I ordered it and the cable to the batt.
    It's so easy and when it is installed I would suppose most people will use it. If ya had to dig in and find the battery not many would keep it charged.
    Thanks

      Yea, this is literally one of the best ATV mods I have ever done. I set it and forget it. This will make your battery last forever. I went through 2-3 batteries going bad before I did this.

    My way is superior, i am forever done with all these super dinky quad batteries going dead on me($180 every 2yrs) with the Gutless junk of 200-350 CCA's (temps common here @-30 and up, and my Bruteforce drains a battery pretty quick cranking when i need to plow my driveway). .I installed a 850CCA walmart car battery ($130) onto the rear rack..working perfectly for 14mths now.

      @@MattsShop oh ok. What if my battery dies sometimes after a few runs in the field? I have some newbs that ride it and kill it while shifting. Does killing it multiple times drain the battery?

    • @MattsShop
      @MattsShop  4 роки тому +2

      If it dies while you are riding it then your charging system isn't working right.
