Depends on how technical you want to get. It’s really an “air fuel mixture” screw but it directly sets the idle, therefore it’s often referred to as an “idle screw.”
From my experience - one screw controls air supply, the other one - fuel supply. Both screws affect rpm, therefore it would be confusing for me to call one of them idle screw.

Hi. My 125cc atv, just working fine than The skrew is full inside in. Is this a problem?
Best video If the idle screw is screwed all the way in, it’s not going to idle very well, if at all.
these carbs must be pretty common on all chinese stuff i have a mini dirt bike im messing aorund wiht for my sisters friends hubby and the carb is pretty much teh same as this one
I think they’re extremely common.
M6 (main jet) are too small for my pz22 carb, are there M7 main jets?
Helped me a by a Million times.
You do good job!
I’ve looked at mine and mine doesn’t have an idle screw. There is just like a small brass plate where the idle screw is supposed to go. What do I do?
It doesn’t have any screws?
BellyUpFish no it’s a Chinese 125cc
BellyUpFish I may also just get a new carb
Ttv_adenboz Mine is Chinese as well. They’re all over the map. You can get a carb on Amazon for like $15. I’d just grab that, then you’ll be going from a fresh start.
I’d also try to run non-ethanol gas if you can find it.
Any thoughts on porting/polishing the intake runner? Or do you leave them stock?
Johnny Turbo I’ve never really thought about it on these. Might be worth a shot. If I did it, I probably wouldn’t go to a high polish like 2000 grit. I’d probably stop somewhere around 600...
@@BellyUpFishGarage 🤔 i may give it a try. Why not lol. I love tinkering, especially if there is performance to possibly gain. 😁👍
Hey why is gas running out of the tube coming out of the bottom
Your float is stuck. Need to clean it.
It is not really an "idle" screw, but rather a fuel screw, isn't it?
Depends on how technical you want to get.
It’s really an “air fuel mixture” screw but it directly sets the idle, therefore it’s often referred to as an “idle screw.”
From my experience - one screw controls air supply, the other one - fuel supply. Both screws affect rpm, therefore it would be confusing for me to call one of them idle screw.
They’re mixture screws. Call them what you want.
Do you know what causes my ATV it dies bogs down at WOT. I placed new carb spark plug adjust pre your video. No power at open throttle
Carb needs to be cleaned, your idle jet is working but not your main jet.
Nice work mate great info.
I did mine but everytime I let of off the throttle it gives me a popping noise
Popping could be a lot of things. I’d start with a carb clean.
@@BellyUpFishGarageit’s actually a brand new carb
My son's ATV backfires a lot when easing off the gas, how to you solve that?
Turn the mixture screw out. It’s running lean, most likely.
Can you please answer this question.. how many turns from full idle should I turn the screw counterclockwise?
Try 2-2.5 and see where that gets you.
@@BellyUpFishGarage ok trying that right now
@@BellyUpFishGarage no luck ..I have both the idol and the airgas mixture screws turned out two and a half from tight
@@BellyUpFishGarage my buddy came over and sprayed out the carburetor with starter fluid and got it started for about 30 minutes but it wouldn't start after that not to mention it wouldn't start or run with the carburetor filter on
@@upnorthofcali7399 Did it run with the filter off?
My pitbike doesnt want to start without the choke but with the choke on it starts good anyone got good advice
Blocked pilot jet
@@joeltamai8758 but i cleaned it and still only want to run on choke
I have the same carb but when i rev the bike it stays at the rpm for a second even after i let off the throttle and if i dont keep reving it it will die,do you know a fix?
Have you cleaned the carb?
