Thanks Gary. I like this watch so much and now I'm looking forward to getting the Watch5 Pro now. Did you get the 46mm version of the 42mm? And what differences are there from yours to these?
@@HayesTech I got the 46mm lte. I only did it because of the larger battery in the 5 pro. Other than that the GW4 is the same to me. Thank you for the comment, I really do appreciate that. And yes, I too would miss having the rotating bezel. I'm not sure there would be much, if anything, on the 5 that I don't already have on my 4. I will have another video coming out soon, showing the Moto 360 3rd gen watch against this watch. And spoiler alert, I don't recommend anyone to go out and purchase one. I couldn't agree more in this watch being so nice while driving. I really like that feature. I'm working on another video now, comparing another smart watch to the Samsung. It should be out in a couple days.
You are very welcome. I did another showing an aftermarket case and band install and i will be showing another band that really makes this watch comfortable. Plus I'm going to compare this watch with the last Moto 36p watch (coming soon).
I need to clear up something about the internals. Unlike apple watches, samsung opted in to make the difference sized watches and types of watches have different sized batteries. I made this mistake with the GW4 40mm, thinking they would have the same battery, but its the watch with the worst battery out of all of their options.
Yes, battery life sucks. I've turned off lift to wake display and use double tap too wake now and it helps immensely. But I still only get one full day of battery use. If I use it just for checking notifications, and don't use it for all my calls and turn the display down to about %50 I can get even more. But who wants that...
You know Randy, I don't know. I'll have to watch the video and see now. But the larger I've weighed 52g and the smaller one weighs 47g. I've been wearing it every day since getting them though and I can say that this newer watch model is way better than their older versions and even better than that LG watch that I gave away. I'll bet the apple watch is just as useful.
I think it's worth it, if you can get it for that price, or cheaper. I got an update on mine on March 4, 2024. And I'm not sure how many more update it will get. My issue with the newer models is that I like the rotating bezel, that's on my middle, and the newer models don't have this feature. But to answer your question, they at least updated it over 2 months ago, to version 5.0..
I just like reviews of anything by a guy in a cowboy hat, very fucking cool my friend. As it happens I am buying a Galaxy watch 4 classic so this time around your review pertains to my situation. Win-win for good old Gabe here...

Yes they do. That's where the Google Wear apps come into play. You don't have to have a Samsung phone anyone to use a Samsung Galaxy Watch, as long as it's the Watch4 or newer. It will work with any Android phone now.
@@HayesTech I will be checking the prices on the watches, after having a massive heart attack and stage 3 COPD the oxygen and blood pressure feature would be awesome. Do all the watches have the same features?

Is it possible to disable the bezel so I don't go to the menu when I turn or rotate. I want the bezel even when turning not to go to the menu, I need to stay in front of the hands to use the tachymeter
I'm not sure. When I rotate mine it either goes to messages (left) or widgets (right). If I touch the clock it goes to the battery settings. Long press to change to a different clock.
@@HayesTech there is some option in settings menu ? because i want to use tachymeter, but requires that bezel when turned dont go to any option , need to stay in pointers face watch
From what I'm finding in my research, the rotating bezel can't be turned off. I'm not even finding any settings for it. Now the watch that doesn't come with the built in rotating bezel, but rather has the touch screen rotation (where you just touch the screens edge and slide your finger around the edge of the screen, that can be mapped to do other things. I researched it and you can not re-map the physical, mechanical rotating bezel. Only the Galaxy watch 4, not the classic, but can have the touch screen rotation turned on and off. My guess is you may be able to change that watch to allow the touch screen edge rotation to do other things. The settings for the Watch4 screen edge is under "Settings, General, Screen Edge settings". There aren't any settings for the rotating bezel, even to turn it off of on, in "Settings, General" on the Watch4 Classic. Hope this helps.
