Wow this is simply mindblowing. Centurion Transport is one of my biggest favourites and their triples looks fantastic here. The new Cascadia is very pretty in their colors. The mega quad is awesome, just like the Fenix Newhaul Volvos. This is big rig territory, everything is enornous in this part of the state. It's great you can visit these remote towns more often Phil. C Trains, over here in Aotearoa we have B Trains double hook ups and double quads, twin steer tractor units pulling quad axle trailors, but go central Island kaingaroa forest we have big gear there built big pulling double trailers 120,140 ton, kenworth and Mack.
All that money spent on those gorgeous quad trailer cab-over Volvo's, yet the poor driver has such a small cab to sleep in ! You would have thought that someone would have come up with a retro-fit box behind the cab to give the driver a little more space when all those dollars have been invested. The next generation of European cab-overs that are coming are going to have larger more aero cabs that can take a larger rear sleeper area as there has been a recent change in design regulation there. 👍
What a spectacular video! The Great Northern Hwy is wonderful for watching the Road Trains! And Mount Magnet is an essential crossover of these huge trucks. Through your videos I learn a lot and I am getting to know that region of Western Australia, which I hope one day to visit, and travel the Great Northern Hwy from Perth to Newman and then to Port Hedland, that is my dream! Thank you for showing these spectacular videos! Greetings from Asuncion, Paraguay!
Glad you enjoyed it. The Great Northern Highway is certainly an adventure, I hope you make it over here one day. After Port Hedland you can continue on to Broome and even Kununurra. Watching how much the landscape changes along this trip is incredible, and it’s all in the one great state of Western Australia.
That's right, Western Australia is a great and spectacular state. And yes, going all the way up the Great Northern Hwy to Kununurra would be fantastic, incredible landscapes and seeing the great variety of road trains. Thanks friend for the videos, and I will always be watching them. Hope to see you there in Western Australia soon!
Some lovely old "frontier" style buildings there. Good heavens above, count the axles on that outfit at2:00: 4 on the tractor, + 3 + 3 + 4 +3 + 4 + 3 + 4 ! 😛
I remember back in the day when I drove in the US a pair of 150-gallon tanks was the bomb, these trucks look like they are carrying 400 to 600 gallons!
When I went around Australia in 2008, i would often see 3 trailers without the semi attached, so I would back up the Sigma to look as if it was a road train. She made it, all at 80kph😅. There is a child in all men.
Great video, all the trucks looking great! And pure engine noise sounds good. 1.09 WStar looks like it has replacement door. A heavy load with that triaxle dolly/booster and float combo. 3.33 All the Blue Volvo's pulling Super Quads, awesome gear. 3.56 Kwhopper, C509? pulling a big dozer, sounds really good. 6.16 Hamptons Western Star, I've only ever seen Hampton quads being pulled by K-worths. IDK. 7.00 Is this truck an older T650? I like seeing the older trucks working hard. Thanks for the video!
Glad you liked it, it was a good day of spotting, a good cross section of different trucks. You’re right about the Hamptons truck, they are usually Kenworths. There’s a Hamptons (or RTA) Mack pulling a quad tanker in the newer video, I was very happy to catch that one.
The road working department in that country must be outstanding because one tiny pothole in the road these truck would destroy that road in one afternoon with so many tires on these "road trains" driving over that pothole. Here in the US our roads are so bad you need a major 4X4 just to go grocery shopping, our roads are pitiful when it comes to repairs to them
3:20 I wonder if that truck has min. 800 - 1000 horse power. Must have lots of torque. And I wonder if the engine powers all 3 of the rear axles of the vehicle, if it wants to pull so many heavy trailor under sometimes rough condiions? And, ypu need a flat country. Because I believe if you got to go up a steep road, the trailer slow you down a lot, simply by the weight.
