You do some awesome work on your videos. So clear and professional. Great job....and some cool guns as well. Keep up the good work...and say hi to Big Johnson for me.
Big Johnson Guns & Gear Excellent will keep an eye out for it. wanted to go shooting today with the good weather, but no one wants to go. At least I can save ammo that way. Have a relaxing day buddy.
I have two Burris Fastfire 3's and love them. Personally I feel the "field of view" thing is overrated but that's just me. I like the thinness aspect of the FF3. So I've had them both for over three years and shoot competitively, not like every weekend but enough to know the FF3's have never let me down. One I use for my revolver and the other my auto, highly recommended. Next time I see someone with a Vortex I'll ask them if I can shoot it to see for myself. Great video...Thanks
stuzinno2 can’t say because I never shot with the vortex models. I’ve heard great things about them. I wouldn’t hesitate purchasing the vortex. I know the BFF3 is very difficult to find, not sure about the vortex. Be sure the battery is accessible through the outside and your dot size is not too large or you’ll cover your targets. I love the 3moa....... aim small miss small.
I opted for the Burris 8 MOA for my glock. I chose it for both carry, fun and weekend matches. I like the slim profile of it over the Vortex and it just matches the gun better as well. My views are, if you want a slimmer design match for a glock that is slim for carry as well. Burris. If you want the more aggressive wider FOV optic for race or just range gun. Vortex all the way. As for as reticle. 8 MOA for carry or a gun used for quick draw ability. Due to bigger sight picture and faster acquisition. Even still that is only a .82" dot at 10 yards. The 3 MOA is a .32" dot at 10 which is beyond tiny. 3MOA for a paper puncher or if you plan to shoot to 50 yards and extend beyond. Draw back is movement is magnified with the smaller dot vs the bigger dot which helps mask small movement while trying to hold target. YMMV. My take, both are amazing sights for the money. Especially for this type of pistol red dot application.
Does the vortex glass have a tint and the burris have a more clear colored glass? Not sure but looked like it in the video. I'm not partial to having tinted glass myself but other than that liked the vortex. Not sure if it is only the video or it really does have a blue tint on the vortex
I have the Viper on a S&W M&P and the ff3 on a Glock 19. I agree with you, although i like them both if i had to pick i would choose the Viper. I prefer the controls on the Viper more than the Burris but they are very comparable. Unfortunately I've had to test customer service with both red dots. The emitter failed on the Burris and the dot disappeared on the Vortex. Both companies handled warranties well and turnaround times was less than 2 weeks
Sgt Supz thanks Sgt! Yeah, both are great but the Vortex edges the FF3 out by a hair. That glass on the Vortex is great. Both companies do a good job standing behind their product which is refreshing. Cheers!
You are so rite about the Venom I have one on my PSA Dagger Doctor Cut which works flawlessly on my depressor Hight sights. I have no complaints I recently upgraded from a Cyelee Calf 2 the lite weight is a plus and the quality is like Nite and Day .Great Vedie Bro......
Nice, thorough comparison of the 2 RDS's I'm considering for my shotgun. I'm leaning towards the Vortex for the slightly wider window. I'm still on the fence regarding which dot size, 3 MOA or 6 MOA, would be better for target shooting with a shotgun at a range of 15-to-50-yards max.
Awesome video! Very clear and concise. I recently purchased a Glock 19 MOS and did the research on both and went with the Burris. I wanted something simple to use and for me having less property on the glass helped me focus faster on the red dot. As you mentioned, it comes down to personal preference. Thanks for the great video.
there a reason you dont have a rear sight with the Venom? does those Mark's on back of venom just work well enough with front suppressor sight to not need rear sight?? I ask because due to the length of the venom on the Glock 20...it requires plunger work because it sits over it. can advoid that of dont even need to run a rear sight...
I'm thinking of ordering the Burris III , 2 things I noticed in your video, first the Burris had a glare shield not a protective cover (Vortex) that's why their was a lens you took out, it helps in bright sunlight, second the Burris has a lifetime no ?'s or receipt needed money back or replacement guarantee that is transferable to however many people own it, that you didn't mention?
Subscribed!!!! I love video like this that doesnt waste time listening to overkilled review like Sage Dynamic.Nothing against them some i guess want in depth review but not me. I just want to know which has brighter dot and overall feel of the optic basically info you wont see on the spec sheets. Great review my brother and keep up the great work , this is the perfect example of KISS review.!!!
NEITHER. I mounted a HOLOSUN 509T fully enclosed circle/dot on my RUGER 57.My gunsmith drilled the included HOLOSUN mounting plate and when he black Cerakoted the slide he also coated the plate. Great sight for this pistol as it is TOTALLY WEATHERPROOF. Plus the 6 o'clock position of the circle is good for 100 yard aiming IF you sight in at 20 yards with 40 gr. FN ammo. The 5.7 x 28 ammo is VERY flat shooting for a pistol cartridge and needs that circle reticle.
I was wondering, if you got that bag of screws on Amazon, could you show a link to them? I'm having trouble finding that size, M3 X 7mm, 0.5 thread pitch, locally. I'm mounting the Burris to my Glock 17 MOS, but can't find those screws, to mount the #1 plate. Thank you.
Do they both have clear glass or tinted? Nothing said about the Venom having a double line for dot alignment and the Burris a single line. Not sure if one is better than the other.
I purchased the Fastfire. I looked at the Venom and all the various functions vs Fastfire 3. Being a Glock guy I like simplicity and I don’t like all the Vortex graphics all over the sight. I hate advertising on something I purchase and not a name dropper. I have other Vortex products like them and their service. They didn’t get my money because of their gaudy graphics.
I got both the Vortex sights and the Venom came defective and the Viper was impossible to dial up. So I’m now going to buy the Burris and see how that goes
I don't think it will help you since the red dot will potentially be off from your iron sights, I would practice with both independently and not rely on one to find the other. Thank you and cheers!
Good stuff, liking the vortex. Have a Burris but your right would like a little more field of view, do like the clarity of the glass though. Keep up the good work!
They both have auto off feature, but do they have auto on? The Vortex Venom does not. Why does no one talk about this? It's really important! If you pull your gun out in a home defense situation and seconds count and you have to fumble around to find a little button on the side to turn on your red dot (if you even remember that you have to turn it on first), that's simply not a good look. It could get you killed. That's why I'm returning my Vortex tomorrow.
Thank you for the video. I’d been considering both. One thing I noticed the venom has a bluish lens and the Burris appears more clear to me. As a side note the vortex has too much large writing. Looks like a nascar. What sights are on your Glock?
I have read several reviews which complain about difficulty with the battery cover. Seems it's difficult to get started and avoid cross threading. Any comment on either one in this regard?
I have the Burris and the battery cover is awful. I actually had to loctite it down because it would back itself out and launch the cover and battery out during firing mild 9mm subsonics. There’s not enough threads on the cap and it’s soft aluminum. Torquing it down hard enough to try to keep it in place without loctite has really damaged the surface of the cover. I wish they’d just make the battery housing out of steel
Great comparison! Thank you. I have a Burris FF3 on a M&P9 and am sitting here, about to buy a sight for my Canik (pronounced Janick, BTW). I was leaning towards trying the Vortex, although I have no complaints about the Burris. Have you removed the front sight on the Canik? Does the Venom have a notch in the housing to use to co-witness a front sight? Black guns are hard to see on a video. If you used a dark background, the lens would open up and the guns won't be just black blobs. Or maybe there is a manual option on the camera to open up a f stop or two.
This was an awesome look at both of these dots, thanks! I was looking to mount a FF3 on my Beretta 92FS as a dorky project, as Burris is the only company who makes a mount for the 92. But you're telling me the FF3 and Venom use the same mount?! I have a new Venom on hand, so learning this makes me pretty hype. So, on both your Glock & Canik, they both attach using the same scews/holes/mounting pegs, all in the same dimensions?
Thanks for the comments and questions! The FFIII, Venom, and Viper all use the same mounting plates on most guns as the screw hole dimensions are the same. As for the screws, you may have to play around with those though I would start with the screws I cover in my original MOS build video. I can't remember the specs off the top of my head. You can find any of those types of screws on Amazon which makes it pretty easy. Hope that helps! Cheers
KSGunGuy 01 That's awesome, I'll check your vid out. I'm just glad that I won't have to buy another $200 red dot, vs just needing to get the right screws lol. Wouldn't have found this out without ya, thanks much
Own the Sig P320 rx with the Romeo 1.The Romeo 1 is the worst optic out there.Ive been waiting for over 2 months for Sig to fix it.Battery dies every 2 days. And the battery cap is so fragile, must use cheap plastic tool which doesn't tighten Romeo 1 enough to work. Will sell gun as soon as I receive Romeo 1 back.
Thanks for the side by side comparison, I've been looking at both of these for a red dot to put on my glocks. I like them both so I guess I still have a tuff decision, also do you think the vortex would hold up to the recoil of an M1A1 ?
I have a really cheap red dot on my 556AR at a 45 angle kicked off under the scope on the side and it’s holding up well can kick the rifle to its side and use the red dot or straighten out and look through the scope at it is holding up well
I have the Burris Fast Fire 3 on a Glock 23 MOS Gen 5. Really like it so far. Almost tried a Sig 1, but I already have a Sig Romeo Zero on a Ruger 57. I wanted a really light optic for that one & it works well after a small modification to the mounting plate.
I know both of these RD sights have auto off feature, but when the weapon is moved / raised to the target do either of these have the motion activated on feature?
Old comment and I see you didn’t get a reply, so - no there is no motion on feature, the auto off feature kicks in after 14hrs so you just leave it on when carrying.
Roger that. I'll go ahead and mount my Vortex Viper onto my Glock 10mm (non-milled slide, dove-tail mount set up), run it through a few hundred rounds, then report back.
Do your sights on the mos with the fast fire 3 co witness? If so what sights are you using because I have the same setup and can't find suppressor height sights that are tall enough to line up over the rear of the fast fire since its taller than other red dots.
Great question! Yes they do. The Dawson precision.395 and .495 sights both co-witness very well. I'd recommend the .395 as the taller really look oddly tall. Thank you and cheers!
Thanks for the question! I think it all comes down to what you are shooting. The larger the dot, the harder it is to shoot at long distances. I prefer the smaller dot just in case I do any longer range competitions. Cheers!
I'm planning on shooting USPSA carry optics. Most of the shots are fairly close. I've never used a red dot on a handgun. It was hard to decide between 3 and 6 MOA. Glad to hear you like the venom!
any difference in the maximum brightness settings? I currently have a burris and have been considering switching to a vortex because the burris can be hard to find in very sunny conditions.
RacerX AKA Joel thanks for the great question! The Vortex may be slightly brighter at its maximum setting but not by much. If you can co witness, I'd rely on that in those conditions if you can. May be easier. Cheers!
Yes, the bolt holes are the same. As for the fitment, the screw holes will line up but you may want to research the other dimensions of the two optics to make sure they are the same. Cheers
So... now that this video has been out for a while. Which one would you recommend? I’m in the same boat as you and my eyesight is fading slightly. I’ve never shot a red dot and hate to spent a ton of money on a Trijicon right off the bat. Great video as usual!
Thanks for your video! Considering the Burris, but now the Vortex also. Just gonna put them on my Ruger .22 pistol. Move out of KS last year, but did shoot down at Frontier twice, and it was very nice. Too bad I wasn't still there, would have been neat to meet another YTer. As this vid is more than a year old now, are both still working well for you? Thanks.
Just letting everyone know just purchased a new Vortex Venom when sighting it in windage adjustment worked fine elevation adjustment didn’t work at all after looking into it further I’m not the only one that’s had issues with this I know that Vortex will send me another one still a lot of inconvenience
Red Dot for a 50 AE? Just shoot in the general direction and the person/animal will most likely die from the sheer energy or shit itself and go into cardiac arrest.
I had the burris on my cz Shadow 2 and it started to turn off after a few rounds. Then it stopped working. Im sending it back for repair but bought the venom which I will try out as well.
Nice Review! I bought the vortex venom from Optics planet and when I received it the elevation adjustment would not work at all. Not to mention the clicks are not very noticeable so it's hard to tell when you're doing one click as opposed to two or three clicks. What is your experience with that comparing both of them? Now to give vortex a fair review I did purchase another venom for a rifle and it seem to work fine adjusting it to zero. I was trying to decide between the Burris and purchasing another Venom for a Ruger mk 3 hunter. They Burris seems to be older technology as compared to the Vortex. Still on the fence. Thanks for the review
Thank you very much and great question! They are both good optics. I've had great luck with the vortex. To be fair, the Burris did have to be returned twice... once because of me and once because of the optic itself. But, they do both function just fine. I do prefer vortex however. Cheers!
I like shooting the 320 and want a Red Dot, but I've read too many negative reviews of the Romeo1. Sig offers plates for Docter, Leuopold, and Trijicon, but availability of less expensive optics like the Venom is not addressed.
I have both, Burris replace my 10 year's old Fast Fire I to FF III no charge. great customer service 8 day turn around time, door to door. But I do like the Venom better with different level of brightness setting and battery life.
My Venom crapped out on my Glock 17 MOS. It just runs constantly thru the flash 2 off flash 3 off and repeat. I made a video about it yesterday because I had recommended it. I didn't want to throw a link to it up on your channel. I subbed you.
That sucks that it crapped out on you. Have you contacted Vortex? Their service is very good as is their warranty. Hopefully you can get it sorted out! Cheers
KSGunGuy I have talked to them when I needed screws to mount it on the MOS. They were super nice. I'm sure they will fix me up. I just hate to take it off and send it back. Thank you so much for your reply. Swing by sometimes. Uncle Dan out!
I can get the venom for $185 or the Burris for $145.. do you think the venom is worth the extra money? Also there is about a 2 month wait on the venom.
Vortex venom: better field of view. Burris fastfire iii: you get to cowitness....toss up. Both excellent quality with outstanding customer service. Have to think about it.
I'm really confused why you didn't even include the Sig simply because it comes with a Factory red dot. That doesn't make any sense to me. Obviously Sig thought it was a good competitor to the market.
Thanks for the comment Josh. I will be doing a broader comparison that will include the Romeo 1, but because it came as part of the P320 I decided to focus on ones that did not come as standard on a gun for this review. Merely a personal choice. Cheers!
Thanks for the comment and question. It all comes down to which gun you like and shoot better. If you go with the Glock, the Venom is awesome and my recommendation from a red dot standpoint. As for the P320, they are great for sure. Both guns just feel and shoot very different from each other. I recommend trying to rent both at the same time to shoot side by side if you can. Cheers!
Thanks for the reply! I just realized that my question was wrong!! haha, I currently own both glock 19, p320 and I love both of them! So I wanted to buy another one that i can add red dot on. So right question should be Venom VS Fastfire3 VS SIg Romeo 1!! I read some article in forum that romeo 1 has some quality issue and it drains battery real quick. What do you think if you compare those 3??
Jason Kwon ok, I'm tracking now! All three work well for me. That said if I could only have one, I'd go with the Venom. The glass is clear and wide enough. The functionality is robust, though it takes some playing around to figure it out. The company stands behind their work and they have a proven track record. There you go.... winner is the Venom. I'm testing a Viper soon so stay tuned for that! Cheers brother
I just picked up the Burris for $190, I wanted the Venom but it was $229 still and it was on backorder. So I might pick the Vortex later, but for $40 savings i don't mind the Burris at all. It's going on my Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Tactical. I'm also waiting for Dead Air Mask can to get approve so i'll have to shoot it with ear plugs for now.
You do some awesome work on your videos. So clear and professional. Great job....and some cool guns as well. Keep up the good work...and say hi to Big Johnson for me.
Glocked 17 thanks for the great compliment! It means a lot man. I will say hi to him for sure! Cheers brother
KSGunGuy 01 Hope to see the big guy on your channel...that would be awsome! Good day.
Glocked 17 we will doing a live chat tonight On KS Channel starts @ 6:00pm central!
Big Johnson Guns & Gear Excellent will keep an eye out for it. wanted to go shooting today with the good weather, but no one wants to go. At least I can save ammo that way. Have a relaxing day buddy.
Glocked 17 hopefully we will see you!

YMMV. My take, both are amazing sights for the money. Especially for this type of pistol red dot application.
Great points. This was helpful for me. Probably going for a FF3 for all of the same uses
Hey brotha, is it me or is does the vortex have a more blue Hue than the Burris?
Does the vortex glass have a tint and the burris have a more clear colored glass? Not sure but looked like it in the video. I'm not partial to having tinted glass myself but other than that liked the vortex. Not sure if it is only the video or it really does have a blue tint on the vortex
Just bought a fastfire 3 for my ruger mini 14. I absolutely love that gun and the 3moa red dot is perfect for that style rifle.
I have the Viper on a S&W M&P and the ff3 on a Glock 19. I agree with you, although i like them both if i had to pick i would choose the Viper. ....you mean the venom?
Is you ff3 3moa or 8moa?
Good timing that I went back and saw this vid. Was considering both of them so this really helped, thanks!
Glad to help 72! Thanks for watching and cheers!
Venom is terrible imo
Nice, thorough comparison of the 2 RDS's I'm considering for my shotgun. I'm leaning towards the Vortex for the slightly wider window. I'm still on the fence regarding which dot size, 3 MOA or 6 MOA, would be better for target shooting with a shotgun at a range of 15-to-50-yards max.
Thank you for how thorough your videos are. It really helped me make my most recent red dot optic.
Thank you very much! I’m glad the vid helped and congrats on the new optic. Cheers!
Like to put the Vortex on my CZ SP-01 shadow. What kind of mount plate do I use?
Any issues with the battery cap striping out on the Burris? Battery life, has there been any issues?
Awesome video! Very clear and concise. I recently purchased a Glock 19 MOS and did the research on both and went with the Burris. I wanted something simple to use and for me having less property on the glass helped me focus faster on the red dot. As you mentioned, it comes down to personal preference. Thanks for the great video.
That's awesome Xavier! The Burris is a great option for sure and it makes sense about having less property to help focus. Thank you and cheers!
there a reason you dont have a rear sight with the Venom? does those Mark's on back of venom just work well enough with front suppressor sight to not need rear sight?? Thanks for the overview. I have the Vortex on my XDM and enjoy it. I have a chance to get a Burris so this was helpful.

Frank !
Vortex and Burris both have pretty much the same warranty. They are both great.
Man, this was an excellent review. I've been looking for something like this for a while.
Thank you very much William! Cheers

will there ever be standardization with footprints and red dots? i find it very confusing!

150.00 plus tax and 15.00 shipping worth buying multiples?
Thanks William
Nice review. I own both. I like the Burris a lil better. The quality seams a bit nicer IMO.
Thank you and cheers!
I got both the Vortex sights and the Venom came defective and the Viper was impossible to dial up.
So I’m now going to buy the Burris and see how that goes
Damm that sucks. I was looking at the venom...
Please provide Amazon order info/link for those screws.
I got one already mounted on a Beretta what i do about warranty no box or information
Why would they put an abrasive material on something used for cleaning a delicate lens
Nice Video! Do you think suppressor height sights will help me acquire the dot faster. I realize people install them usually for backup purposes.
Thanks for checking in Paul! Yeah the Vortex just has a little bit of an advantage there but both are great! Cheers brother

Because most auto on feature are "shake awake" and if its a daily carry it will always be on..
Thank you for the video. I’d been considering both. One thing I noticed the venom has a bluish lens and the Burris appears more clear to me. As a side note the vortex has too much large writing. Looks like a nascar. What sights are on your Glock?
My pleasure! The sights are Dawson Precision. Thank you and cheers!
Thanks for the video! Making this same choice now.

did you need a 1%angled shim for any of those optics on the glock?
Do these sights work for night vision?
This was an awesome look at both of these dots, thanks! I was looking to mount a FF3 on my Beretta 92FS as a dorky project, as Burris is the only company who makes a mount for the 92. But you're telling me the FF3 and Venom use the same mount?! I have a new Venom on hand, so learning this makes me pretty hype. KSGunGuy 01 That's awesome, I'll check your vid out. I'm just glad that I won't have to buy another $200 red dot, vs just needing to get the right screws lol. Wouldn't have found this out without ya, thanks much
Happy to help Ion! Cheers
Will the Burris 3 fit a Canik TP9 Elite SC
Own the Sig P320 rx with the Romeo 1.The Romeo 1 is the worst optic out there.Ive been waiting for over 2 months for Sig to fix it.Battery dies every 2 days. And the battery cap is so fragile, must use cheap plastic tool which doesn't tighten Romeo 1 enough to work. Will sell gun as soon as I receive Romeo 1 back.
the hood on the ff3 is for rain when you mount it on rifles with the included picatinny mount
Which mount plate did you buy
@@Nonamecowboy8888 For the Ruger?
I bought the Ruger factory one with the Shield footprint.
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to share this.
Are these red dots durable enough to be mounted on a hot loaded, regularly used Glock 10mm?
Thank you very much Bill! I can't speak to them handling a 10mm, but it's worth a try! Cheers brother
Roger that. I'll go ahead and mount my Vortex Viper onto my Glock 10mm (non-milled slide, dove-tail mount set up), run it through a few hundred rounds, then report back.
@@sideshowbilly3755 did you ever try it on 10mm?
Been running the fastfire3 on ny glock 20 10mm auto for years and 3k rds..no issues.
All things being equal, which, in your opinion would be the better option for use on a Smith/Wesson model 52-2
Either would be just fine though I prefer the Vortex. Thank you and cheers!
that is the way I was leaning.
What suppressor sights do you use for Glock MOS with Venom?
They are Dawson Precision. Thank you and cheers!
How do you like the 3 MOA dot? Vortex is coming out with a 6 MOA Venom. Seems like a lot of people prefer the bigger dot on handguns.
Rotorwind good luck with the competitions! I think you'll be fine with a 6 moa in that setting. Cheers!
KSGunGuy 01 thanks! I'm a new subscriber to the channel. Enjoying your videos!
Thank you very much. That means a lot!
Great review, brother. Definitely helpful. As a guy hitting middle age, I think I'm with you with a little bit more field of view.
Thank you very much! Age does funny things to you for sure. Those reds dots really do help. Cheers!
Does the venom mount fit the Burris optic?
What’s the suppressor sights for the Glock w/ Burris ff3
any difference in the maximum brightness settings? I currently have a burris and have been considering switching to a vortex because the burris can be hard to find in very sunny conditions.
RacerX AKA Joel thanks for the great question! The Vortex may be slightly brighter at its maximum setting but not by much. If you can co witness, I'd rely on that in those conditions if you can. May be easier. Cheers!
KSGunGuy 01, thanks for the input! You actually live very close to me if you shoot at Centerfire. Do you ever shoot 3 gun in De Soto @ Mill Creek?
+RacerX AKA Joel awesome! No, I haven't been out there but I hear it's great. For now, Centerfire does the job! Cheers
Are the bolt holes/patterns the same between the Burris and the Venom? If so, getting a milled slide for one may allow fitment of the other, right?
Yes, the bolt holes are the same. As for the fitment, the screw holes will line up but you may want to research the other dimensions of the two optics to make sure they are the same. Cheers
Roger that. Thanks!
any findings yet, about to mount a Burris FF3 on a Steyr M9A1 and want to know an option other than my Gunsmith fabricating a mounting plate?
vortex venom 6 MOA for my Cz shadow 2 optic ready rear sight
is that trijicon rmr cut on your glock? if it is how did you mount the burris on it? thank you
It's a Glock MOS. You can mount any optic on it. Thank you and cheers!
So... now that this video has been out for a while. Which one would you recommend? I’m in the same boat as you and my eyesight is fading slightly. I’ve never shot a red dot and hate to spent a ton of money on a Trijicon right off the bat. Great video as usual!
I would definitely go with the Venom. Thank you and cheers!
Thanks.
Thank you very much! I stayed with the Venom and still use it today. Although both are fine, the field of view on the Venom is my favorite. Cheers!
I went with the Burris, found one under $200 on Amazon. Looking forward to it's arrival and trying it out next week at the range.
Awesome!
How did you mount the fast fire on the Glock, i have G26 9mm & G17 9mm
If it’s an mos you have to use baseplate #1. If it’s not MOS, you have to either buy a milled slide or get your slide milled
They sell adapters that fit in rear sights
What sights did you use with the glock / Burris red dot ?
Good vid and info on the red dots....Good details...Good stuff...
Thanks Scott and great to see you tonight! Thanks for your support as always!
Just letting everyone know just purchased a new Vortex Venom when sighting it in windage adjustment worked fine elevation adjustment didn’t work at all after looking into it further I’m not the only one that’s had issues with this I know that Vortex will send me another one still a lot of inconvenience
Super nice Video Brother! Great info, You mounted them? Lol Carry On!
Big Johnson Guns & Gear haha! I was waiting for someone to catch that. Figures it would be you! 😂
Why Yes it was! Lol Carry On!
could you recommend red dot for DEagle 50AE?
That's exactly why I'm here..haha
Red Dot for a 50 AE? Just shoot in the general direction and the person/animal will most likely die from the sheer energy or shit itself and go into cardiac arrest.
Either...have a vortex on my eagle ..burris on my 454 ...both hold fine
I had the burris on my cz Shadow 2 and it started to turn off after a few rounds. Then it stopped working. Im sending it back for repair but bought the venom which I will try out as well.
Great review! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much! Happy to do it. Cheers Walter!
Fastfire 3 is 3 moa or 8 moa? And which one would u recommend?
I have a P30sk would the vortex fit on it without me having to cut the slide? Thank you
You need to have either a milled slide or an adapter (only for certain guns) that goes into the back sight channel.
There could be an adaptor if you don't want to cut the slide, but you'll have to remove the rear sight, that's where the adaptor plate will fit in.
My tp9sfx came with the vortex viper.... so idk wtf that has to do with anything.
Is that cover for the venom a sunshade or just a dust cover?
It’s just a dust cover. Thank you for the question and cheers!
The Burris’s cover is actually a sunshade but can be used as a cover. Vortex’s cover is just a rubber dust cover.
That sucks, thanks for the reply guys
Extremely helpful! Thank you!!!
My pleasure! Thank you and cheers!
I like the Burris on my Ruger MarkIII. Vortex for higher caliber firearms.
Cheers!
Are there any adaptor plates you're aware of to mount the Venom on a Sig P320?
I like shooting the 320 and want a Red Dot, but I've read too many negative reviews of the Romeo1. Sig offers plates for Docter, Leuopold, and Trijicon, but availability of less expensive optics like the Venom is not addressed.
Not that I am aware of. Thank you and cheers!
What sights do you have on the Glock?
Same problem with Burris here. They did replace it, but I consider the glass placement a design flaw now.
Agreed! Thank you and cheers!
Great video brother! I really need to step it up and get a red dot for one of my pistols lol
Thanks man! I highly recommend it. Totally different experience at the range. Cheers!
Excellent review. Top quality.
Thank you very much Gregory! Cheers brother
I have both, Burris replace my 10 year's old Fast Fire I to FF III no charge. great customer service 8 day turn around time, door to door. But I do like the Venom better with different level of brightness setting and battery life.
does the vortex power back up automatically after the 14 hours if you pick it up?
Yes it should. Thank you and cheers!
Thank you and will do!
I think I’ll go with the FF for my S&W victory. Great review BTW!
I can get the venom for $185 or the Burris for $145.. do you think the venom is worth the extra money? Also there is about a 2 month wait on the venom.
Personally, I'd go Venom as stated in the video. Thank you and cheers!
Thatguy Tev92 where are you finding these prices?
Vortex venom: better field of view. Burris fastfire iii: you get to cowitness....toss up. Both excellent quality with outstanding customer service. Have to think about it.
Did you zero the sights ?
Excellent comparison..no non-sense and straight to the point.
I'm going to put a red dot on my M1A, and have decided to do the Vortex Viper after watching this review...
Cheers!
KSGunGuy. So, what's the deal with the Romeo mount? Is it a Docter-pattern mount like the Fastfire, or is it proprietary?
How did I miss this? Well. Good one as usual. I'm loving the Romeo 1
Thanks InSight! The Romeo 1 does a great job indeed. Cheers brother!
Does the red dot holds properly in ur Glock mos?
Yes it does. Thank you and cheers!
Good review...I may have to try one out one day.
Gerald Weldin thanks Gerald. They are a ton of fun!
Could you make the music at the beginning a bit more loud?
Yup
@@KSGunGuy01 Thank you!!! Lol. Enjoyed the video.
What sights are on the 19? Do they co witness with the ff3?! Specs if possible
I am trying to get either glock 19 mos with (venom or fastfire) OR P320 RX compact.
Which one do you think its better from your experience?
Will the Venom fit the P320?
@@KSGunGuy01
I just picked up the Burris for $190, I wanted the Venom but it was $229 still and it was on backorder. So I might pick the Vortex later, but for $40 savings i don't mind the Burris at all. It's going on my Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Tactical. I'm also waiting for Dead Air Mask can to get approve so i'll have to shoot it with ear plugs for now.
Where did you get the Burris that cheap?
Great video!
Excellent Video. I just mounted a Venom Vortex on my Springfield Socom .308. Fits great and performs as expected........OUTSTANDING!!!!
Thank you and congrats on the Vortex! Thank you and cheers!
Great video/comparison. It is very helpful, thanks!
Thanks for the comment! Glad to help. Cheers!
How is the Burris holding up? Is it still working?
I actually sold it, lol.
