You are a complete superstar! I was stumped by the form, but having watched your video it was done in 5 minutes and I can now start to receive my ad revenue payments. I can't thank you enough, you've saved me probably hours of research :)
Brilliant, so pleased to hear this helped you and thanks for letting us know. It's not easy navigating these forms, is it? Even with their guidance, it can still be unclear. We hope your ad revenue is now flowing in🙂
I'm so confused now. I'm a UK resident and classed as an individual on AdSense. Just checked my AdSense and it's now asking for Tax information because we get paid through AdSense Ireland. They're asking for a tax residency certification or tax payer ID card for the "individual" listing. Do people in the UK even have these types of things because if so, I've never seen it come through in my letter box? Lol...I'm perplexed as to what I should do and there are practically NO videos on YT about it. Eek! Lee :)
I was actually going to do that but had read a thread on Reddit where someone else did that and it wasn't accepted and they then had their payment frozen until they provided the proper information. So I am reticent to try this myself. In any case, I appear to be getting my AdSense this month without filling in any information. But I am sure that won't last for long and they'll probably insist on the documents soon. @@ChampionsOfTheTrade
Thanks for letting us know! Ours went straight through without needing to tick it... this is not a straightforward system to navigate. Is your account sorted out now?
what about tax residency info? What can you upload? To help Google determine our withholding and reporting requirements, upload a document that proves your tax residency
Is it normal for google adsense to ask for US and Ireland tax information even though my company is registered in the UK. Does every account get asked this?
For the foreign TIN mine is my national insurance number by the looks of it so that is what I am going to try, I checked my previous form (from four years ago) and it is partly covered by 'XXXXX' and then the last three numbers and the letter of my NIN. Also if you are just an individual uploading vids put yourself as an individual and your YT name as you DBA.
I just noticed that there is a new form for me to fill in for Ireland. It appears when I click on the old adsense payments page. Do you know if we would be exempt from tax for payments from Ireland?
I would assume that would be the case for Northern Ireland as it's part of Britain. But I would double check. Southern Ireland is still part of Europe. But please double check.
@@ChampionsOfTheTrade Do you not see the same message if you look at your old adsense page? Go to 'payments info' then click the drop down at the top and click on your old adsense page.
Thanks for this. I've just had a "Some additional documents are required to verify your tax information. This may be because the document that you have submitted is not a type that we accept or it has expired." notification come up. It doesn't say what it's for but I have a approved W-8 BEN-E which expires on the 31/12/26 and an Accepted Tax Info for Ireland which never expires. I have no idea what this new one is for. The help is so poor. I do have the option to delete so I may just do that :(
Did you get yours sorted? If I remember correctly, I think I had to upload a copy of our VAT certificate or Companies House certificate of incorporation. It's really not a straightforward process, is it?
@@ChampionsOfTheTrade I have a Proof Of Residency for the Irish revenue issued by HMRC in November so I’ve uploaded that. It’s a really poor customer experience and there is no one to speak to. Hopefully this will sort it now although it doesn’t actually tell me what it’s for. It’s still in review. 👍
@@ChampionsOfTheTrade Just had my third request for tax info and have submitted my VAT Cert dated last week and that's just been rejected stating it's out of date. I have USA and Ireland approved and I'm wondering if this is for Singapore as I haven't submitted that, but it doesn't say which country. I am now closing my Ltd Co (IR35) and I cannot close my AdSense account as my payments are on hold. Crazy.
@ThePhobicFlyer We feel your pain!! Hope you get this sorted out one way or another. If you close your limited company, can you submit and get paid to you as an individual?
As a limited company owner in the UK, I'm curious if Adsense royalties are subject to corporation tax, even when the revenue originates outside the UK. My understanding is that companies generally don't pay income tax on foreign sales. Is this accurate? Would I only be liable for taxes on royalties generated from within the UK Adsense, or are there other factors to consider? While I understand you're not a financial advisor, I'd be interested in hearing your perspective and any relevant experiences from being part of the UA-cam Partner Program as a Limited Company (Ltd).
That's a really good question! We only started earning from Adsense in August and have not reached the end of our tax year, so I'm not able to give you a reply from personal experience. However, I can't imagine that we would not have to pay corporation tax on Adsense earnings. I'm hoping to bring an accountant on the podcast soon, so I'll see what I can find out. If you find out in the meantime, please let us know.
Thanks for this, had to go through a bit of a faff with HMRC to get a UTR but I got there in the end. One thing that's come up on my end is I'm also getting asked for Irish residency info (even though I do not currently, nor have I ever lived in Ireland) Anyone got any clue how I can get rid of that or go through the form without the non-existent paperwork it's wanting?
they have asked residency tax - i sent them but they said they are no good. they want to tax me in Ireland - i live in England. i don't know what papers they want. My accountant does not know neither there is no info anywhere

That's a good question! I don't believe you need to set up your channel as a business, but if you monetise, you will need to declare the income on top of any other earnings through your SATR. We're working as a limited company (as you know from the video) so would offset any costs of camera equipment etc against income. Whether you can do this as an individual, I would not be able to say from first-hand experience, but would assume you would need to register with HMRC as a sole trader to do this. The fella in this video fills in his form as an individual, which might be helpful to you: ua-cam.com/video/behXMLz2Y8k/v-deo.html Please let me know how you get on.
