- Project kick-off on this 1991 4 Cylinder Automatic Mustang Coupe that will be getting a 5.0 & AOD conversion. The car has been in the owners family for 30 years and now he is fixing it up for his Daughter and she has no idea!
This episode we will focus on preparing the car for the transplant by stripping out the old drivetrain.

Great video. Finished a conversion 4 to 8 cylinder 6 months ago. Found a coupe here in Illinois with 916 miles on it, a family had no idea of the Fox following. Has a stock 5.0 with a turbo installed kept it stock, interior only exception was a turbo gauge and trans cooler gauge didn’t disturb by hacking it up. First COVID 19 car show asked if we wanted to sell the car.....nope. Looking for a 4 cylinder hatch to do another swap. Look forward to your conversion update. Keep up the good work

I have done 5 of these.... currently doing a 89 4 to 8 full swap. Just finished a full Maximum Motorsport suspension. It will be a fun build for you...

Please do a 351W swap on a 79-80 fox someday there is almost no videos at all out there at all with pointer, tips and tricks on what to run into and what is recommended. It would be a great help

I am about to swap 87 notch 4cyl my donor car is a 92 GT I no none of the wiring harness is any good to me I have a 89 engine harness o2 harness I even got the head light harness for the alternator wires I need my clutch pedals out of my 92 everything but the wiring my 1st swap little scare I guess a long as I take my time I should be ok!! I am going to be watching ur videos when u go to pull the 4cyl harness out can u show what goes in what stays of the 4cyl harness!! Thanks man

That's a nice clean car..good story 2 go with the car 2...? Would the quarter glass from say that car with the mustang in the glass fit say my 1985 hatch.would I be able to remove the side vent looking things to make it look clean.
Thanks! Yes you can install newer style glass in the older models!
Yes, but you will have a pretty big space between the plastic on the interior and the window since the newer glass sits on the outside of the body and the older style is recessed into the body. You can swap in the newer plastic panels if you want to.

For the average person I would say 3 hours.
Hi I got a 90 lx 4 cylinder automatic body is excellent no rust no accident. Can you guys tell how much it could cost to swap it to 5.0 or any shop who will do it thanks.
10k give or take what parts you buy/replace with labor. Where are you located?
Question. I know the 8.8 is different from the 7.5 but is the connection. Between the driveshaft on the 7.5 the same as the 8.8? So could I connect a 4 cylinder driveshaft to an 8.8?
You could if it's 5spd originally. The auto driveshafts won't interchange.

Question are the steps relatively the same if I want to go from a 6 to an 8? If there is a difference please elaborate.
Is your 6 a 3.8? Auto? If so you can reuse the transmission
