DAMN!!! Talk about bringing back memories!! Back in the early 90's I has an 86 GT. Was running an 88 long block, GT40 heads fully P&P'd, B303 and GT40 intake. God that was so fun!
B cam and American thunder flow masters is what I had in the 90’s and I’m pretty sure everyone else did too. 😂 I just put a summit f303+ in my Torino with some bad ass aluminum mufflers that sounds pretty awesome.
The b 303 cam in a fox body Mustang with the American thunder flowmaster exhaust is the most iconic sound in .car history . Just by having that Cam and exhaust.. makes you a badass
If you know enough about cams you can have both. In my case I'll turn down all of them and choose the Edelbrock Rolling Thunder hydraulic roller for a SBF.
Jeremy Willis, I apologize if I have this wrong, but I don’t know if you were directing your comment to me or not.... I just picked out the best Sounding Cam with the exhaust system that was on EACH OF THE CARS THAT WERE THERE... The F- cam in MY OPINION, ALONG WITH THE MAC PRO CHAMBER, out of all the cars that were there, sounds the best TO ME... I WAS AROUND IN THE 80’s & 90’s when the 5.0 was the badass to beat, so Please Believe me when I say I know about cams. Also, UNLESS YOUV’E ROCKED A MAC PRO CHAMBER, then you just don’t know. LOL. There’s NO MENTION about an E-cam, or any of the other nasty cams that were out there, plus WHAT COMBINATION WAS BEING RAN??? Hydraulic Rollers definitely are more efficient, but if you don’t have the matching heads, intake, and exhaust, the only thing that your 5.0 is gonna do is fall on its face if you try running anybody that’s serious....Nothing more..... But there are ALSO PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT COULD NOT AFFORD ALL OF THE GOOD CRAP.... And THEY DIDN’T NEED IT!! They weren’t racing at the strip, OR racing on the streets for money. Somehow they were able to get their hands on a nice 5.0 FOXBODY, and THEY COULD NOT AFFORD to get all of the go fast goodies that other people had, BUT THEY’RE ESCAPE AND THEY’RE PRIDE went into making their 5.0 LOOK AND SOUND Really Hot!! If you grew up in the 80’s, and you didn’t come from money, or be lucky enough to get a GREAT Job, then you did the BEST THAT YOU COULD! Straight up, I started out with a beat the F up 5.0 Fox, BUT it was quick as hell... It looked like dogshit, but it was basically a Sleeper that would lift the front end off the ground almost a foot!! Mind you, it was an everyday driver! Honestly, there no doubt that I would have traded that straight up nasty Fox body 5.0 for a Really nice 5.0 Fox that just sounded mean and looked the part. 5.0’s, were quick for the times anyway, so “THOUGH ENDETH THY SERMON”...😱😂👍🇺🇸
The B-303 gets my vote! That cam is legendary for sound and performance. I can't think of a cam that you can identify just by the sound of it other than the B.
I knew, before I even listened, that the green XE274HR would be the quietest of the group being a turbo car and a 347. More importantly, I’d be willing to bet that this cam would make the best power of the 4 cams in an apples to apples comparison. 👍
The Comp cam was idling high. It's difficult to get it to idle around 650 where it lopes like a mfr. It's a very high reving cam with AFR 165 heads and 306ci.
These all sound amazing in their own way, it's really crazy how the closer to or stockish cars kinda sound better thru the speaker on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S20 ultra)
I love your dedication to the fox body. I appreciate how you always get into detail about all the cars.. and don't talk down on people who are maybe new to the car scene and fox bodies
I was picking them before you did that at the end and I'm in full agreement. That F cam with the prochamber is wicked! That with the paint and wheels is what I remember from back in the day. Awesome video!
1 thing you didn't mention, Idle RPM! Great vid though. I've been looking forward to this also! My picks are identical to yours. Your dads car sounds so good. I love a deep exhaust, which is why I choose a 5" over a 4" on my diesels... My carb'd B cam sounded great through long tubes and original 40's. Loud! I'm older now though...
Awesome! Like you said, exhaust system has a lot to do with it - F cam, B cam, B21 (mainly due to mufflers), Comp XE274HR (I thought about getting the 270HR).
Really do Appreciate the video in fact I really like your red mustang the best I have really wanting to build a SN95 mustang with a Ford explorer motor and throw in a b303 cam!! With a supercharger!! Used to have a 78 Cobra 2 mustang with a 302 3 speed automatic with a Holly 750 double pumper carb and long tube hooker headers!! Really do miss my 78 cobra!! It was a blast to drive!! Hard times is why I don't have it!! But the SN95 will be my redemption mustang!! Which it will mean a whole lot to me considering me and my brother are working on this project together before we leave this world!! He's not doing so well and recently two years ago I have had a stroke!! The good Lord willing we will get it done!! God bless and thank you very much for this excellent video!! It put a smile on my face and gave me confidence and what me and my brother will be doing together!! #GodBlessYou!... 💯♥️✝️🙏🇺🇸⚖️❤️🤍💙🌎✌️👌👍👍🙌
Cool video and nice rides! Brings us all back in time. I understand why they have the exhausts that they do but apples to apples with the exhaust my vote is. F cam #1, B21 #2, B cam #3 and XE274HR #4. Don't rule out the E cam for an experiment some day. That little guy has some lope to it and really sounds cool with a 1.7 rocker on a stock piston/ head/intake deal. It can make a number too...
I just found this channel the other night. I have had an 87 gt and a 94 gt. My plan is to find another FOX soon!! Great information. I am hooked. Thank you for all the great information. You are real world. love it!
Sweet comparison. I have always enjoyed the F303 the most out of the letter cams. Sounds good, drives great and doesn't bog at lower rpm's like the E. I have a 10.8:1 347 in my 86 right now with some 200cc heads, a factory HO roller cam and a 500cfm 2V Holley. I like to be different 😁
for what it is the anderson hands down. I have owned b303 f303 X303 comp 292 and a old dual pattern lunati back in the day that anderson is going through those stock tail pipes wow sounds good.
I have been looking forward to this vid. MAN. that white Notch sounds BREW2L! I am so sold on a B cam. One day. I will switch over to Mass Air so I can toss a B cam in. Well done video.
I'm bias as I had a B303 in my old Fox, but even after all these years, I still think its by far the best sounding one. It just has a great lobe sound. Like you couldn't time it with a calendar.
Kind of crazy how the most rowdy car of the 4 (calypso) sounds the most tame. Retro is my favorite still with the classic sound of the b303..but that anderson cam sounds great as well.
Grew up loving the sound of Stangs. Owned many GTs but never my fox body. Always put long tube headers with shorty off-road x pipes and 40 series Flowmasters. Never had the money for a after market cam. The white Fox Body LX sounds the most retro and I could meditate to that rumble. Im 43 now and ready to make my childhood dreams come true!❤
Now my car ran high 11s with basically the same set up as the red and black steed. I had Dart jr. heads, X303 cam, GT 40 intake with a bigger throttle body and mass air, injectors and so on. Bored 30 over. Miss that car. Thanks for your videos. Brings back a lot of good memories. Naturally aspirated.
I could smell the Blu-gas through my screen Funny the Anderson & B-Cam came over my CC worded as Music ,Id have to disagree...all of what was just heard is music . so I told the you-tube figure it out yeah, get your CC updated. A Chevy guy I was, till I learned how costly it got to get a street car(In1994) to get into the 13 sec qt. mile time, Back then a Mustang with a big-oh bump stick ,flow masters/y pipe and a flipped over air cover top with to give that big 75hp shot a little room to work lol was hard to beat'em. (and yes in 94 a guys everyday driver street car who had a 75hp shot was tuff from light to light racing) that 5.0 loved spray right up till.....well till it didn't. then you'd pop that number 3 piston ring like a 7th graders zit lol anyway gr8t video it took me back to my high school parking lot days all it needed was a KZ1000 with a Drag pipe
Running B303 cam with 1.7 FMS roller rockers, trickflow Box upper , Brodix Alum 5.0 heads with twin turbos, has an incredible sound to it, you hear the sweet turbos sounds thru the exhaust right along with that sweet sounding B303.
Bringing back memories. Miss my old SN95. Typical build. Top end kit with a e303 and a flowmaster exhaust. Just something about a choppy idle sitting at the light ready to lay some stripes!
I have a 10:1 331 with a Comp XE282, long tubes, H pipe, and straight through magnaflows. It sounds amazing. Probably would sound similar to the Calypso car if it didn’t have a Turbo. Makes over 400whp NA aswell.
i totally agree with you on the order you picked papa-T's car sounds just awesome!!!.....but that B cam....wow cant beat that classic 5.0 sound from back in the day!
The intro is back! What a good time to upload. Im at work with headphones on. I like how all the cars are different and they all sound good. That Anderson be hittin tho for just exhaust. 👌
Ive always liked the F-cam the most compared to the B, or E. I have an Anderson N21 in my 93 Coupe and it sounds awesome. My favorite so far. Note: you should race your Calypso Clone against Papa T’s car and record the runs.😉 That would make for a great video.😁
Well my friend I have a brand-new B can that's been sitting wrapped up nice and oily for the last 10 years brand freaking new you've convinced me to install it finally
Great video! Love the Anderson B21, but I cant give up on the old B303 in the 5.0s!😎 badass sounding rides. I bet if the turbo calypso green fox had a good set of mufflers on it, it would sound sick as hell.👍
Brew2l 💪straight power!!.....I'm a Ford performance cam all day I like that F then B myself........I run a E303 in my 92 with longtubes, h pipe and pro chamber turn downs pre axle you cant beat that rumble!!
I have an '85 with a 306, Edelbrock heads, intake, b cam, holly 650, bbk long tubes, h pipe, flow master super 40's And she has some serious chop! All the cars in the video a beautiful.
im the knucklehead 17 yr old that put a x303 cam in a bone stock 85 GT! sounded good, ran like crap! washed cylinder walls down with gasoline and would even blow gasoline out the exhaust. had to change the oil constantly until i got more mods and better carb.
I’ve gotta go with Pop’s car. I had a couple of fox’s, but my Absolute Favorite was a 4 eyed 86’ GT w/ the F303, the Mac Pro Chamber, and the 2 chamber FM’s. The Additional BAD ASS SOUND to add to the symphony was a big Kenne Belle PD blower! How many of you remember that unmistakable “Wine” of a Cammed & KB blown Fox body pulling up at the light??? LMAO!!! I got my ass whooped a few times before I was able to save up for the KB and that was a Life Changing moment for me... LOL. Before that, I just remember hearing the sound of that car pulling up next to me at the light and thinking 🤔....👀“Ohh Come on Now! NOT AGAIN!!!! ✌️👍🇺🇸
Man ive gotta say.....on this video its a close one for me between the Retro & Papa T's!!! The Retro sounds nasty af!!! Idc tho.....the clone is my pick! I love tht car!!! Good video brother!! 🤘🙏🙏 I wanna see yall run the Clone and Papa T's!!
Now this was a great idea for a video! Incredibly useful as well! GOOD JOB! In my personal opinion Andrews’s notch and the Retro Fox sound the best. Sounds like that take me back to high school!
The red & gray fox has that sound that I have loved since childhood!! But the white fox has that calm kinda sound to it that says please underestimate me at the stop light Jr. & let me show ya what being an adult is all about! At the end of the day though, to me, performance ALWAYS outweighs fashion, so it would boil down to which cam gave me the better numbers for a build, Not which one sounds the coolest. If ya can pull off both then that’s GOLD!!
I run the 274HR in my 308cid with Canfields and Keith Black pistons. I had it in my old combo also. Stock block/rods/pistons and E7's with GT40X valvetrain in it. Ran great and never had an issue. Sounds great too esp with full lengths and old skool 2 chambers. Ran a B cam back in the day with Cobra 1.7's and also loved the way it chops.
@BREW2L- I'm sorry to admit that I have never heard of you before, but you sir, have earned another fan and subscriber thanks to this very video! My wife and I have an '89 Notch with about 43k original miles on her, though she was not taken care of all that well by the previous owner. So far, I've balanced and blueprinted the stock bottom end, some 170cc aluminum heads, ported and polished Explorer intake, BBK equal length headers, Magnaflow catted exhaust, American Muscle cold air/throttle body/spacer/MAF housing m, 24lb injectors, Sportline springs, Strange shocks & struts, double adjustable rear UCAs & LCAs bunch of other crap, but I'm undecided on a cam. Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed! This project has languished for too many years thanks to a broken back and otherwise busy life, but I now have a gearhead friend who is game to help me get her back on the street, so I'm extra thankful and excited!
Wow . what a fleet. Glorious. Call me the Calypso Clown but I like that muffled sound of power. quiet confidence. Its morning again in America at Brews house.
I love it, what a great comparison! They all sound great, I thought the red and silver one with the b303 was carbureted. If I had to choose I guess I would pick Papa T's
I remember 13 yrs ago I ran a B cam in my 89 LX. Back then, NO one was running the B cam. They all wanted the E and F cams. lol my have the times changed.
B-cam is where it’s at for me. Definitely old school sound.
Sorry for the late reply - I'm running a TFS Stage 2 in mine and it sounds absolutely rank.
definitely, we're in an era where that beautiful sound is vanishing. Love that first one, and BONE STOCK! Wow.
I don't even care if others make more power. That's what a Fox should sound like.
Retro fox just brings me back the 90’s and the way a fox should sound lol
Yes sir 😎
Yup! Retro fox sounds best IMO
DAMN!!! Talk about bringing back memories!! Back in the early 90's I has an 86 GT. Was running an 88 long block, GT40 heads fully P&P'd, B303 and GT40 intake. God that was so fun!

The Anderson cam sounds really good but you just can’t beat the sound of that B cam!!
That is unless you go with PapaT’s F Cam...👍👍👍
I’ll stick to the cam that makes the most power over the sound. Which I’m pretty certain is the xe274hr
If you know enough about cams you can have both. In my case I'll turn down all of them and choose the Edelbrock Rolling Thunder hydraulic roller for a SBF.
E cam would sound more rad and also happens to be more driveable

For a cam that's been around for 35 years, that B303 still sounds sweet.
The B-303 gets my vote! That cam is legendary for sound and performance. I can't think of a cam that you can identify just by the sound of it other than the B.
The B cam is the king of Fox sound. My first car was a 92 GT with a B cam and it sounded incredible.

@@DWBmotorsports i could care less what that man thinks.
@@frigglebiscuit7484 Well, good thing you don't then!!
I put a B cam in my car 15 years ago , I still have it and I have just found a new appreciation for it , thanx!
I am running an xe264hr. It sounds amazing with bbk equal lengths, H-pipe, and American thunders.
They all sound FANTASTIC!! I agree, Cam with a Carburetor is the best sound!! I've got a 85' Fox with a 347, with a 650cm Holley and a 303B Cam.
These all sound amazing in their own way, it's really crazy how the closer to or stockish cars kinda sound better thru the speaker on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S20 ultra)
Omg the end part with all the cars running is cam heaven!!! I need a loop of all these cars idling to fall asleep to!!!
The best sounding: All of them!!!!!!!
Sounds like heaven
I love your dedication to the fox body. I appreciate how you always get into detail about all the cars.. and don't talk down on people who are maybe new to the car scene and fox bodies
That B303 cam sounded great!
I was picking them before you did that at the end and I'm in full agreement. That F cam with the prochamber is wicked! That with the paint and wheels is what I remember from back in the day. Awesome video!
I have the F-cam with a 302 forged pistons V3SI & it sounds freaking amazing. Plus it’s a great cam for boost
B303 cam sounds way more aggressive. The f303 cam sounds a bit muffled while the b303 cam car sounds more clean.
TFS1 cam is my favorite sounding cam. It's like music to my ears.
I had aLX with the F cam and long tube headers back in 1998. Did really well racing it in street class. Super consistent for a stick shift car.
And a tighter LSA would have done even better
The Anderson and the tail pipe coupe is the best sounding. The tailpipes is what makes the mustang sound so unique.
The 347 calms that xe274 down. I run the xe276 in my sbe 302 and it chops pretty good
1 thing you didn't mention, Idle RPM!
I love the sound change as the oil pressure comes up, cold starts are awesome.
Awesome! Like you said, exhaust system has a lot to do with it - F cam, B cam, B21 (mainly due to mufflers), Comp XE274HR (I thought about getting the 270HR).
5.0 pushrod !!! I love that sound . I own a GT 95 here in Brazil
c'mon guys blow this video up! nobody else has really done this, IN THIS FASHION!
🙌

Cool video and nice rides! Brings us all back in time. I understand why they have the exhausts that they do but apples to apples with the exhaust my vote is. F cam #1, B21 #2, B cam #3 and XE274HR #4. Don't rule out the E cam for an experiment some day. That little guy has some lope to it and really sounds cool with a 1.7 rocker on a stock piston/ head/intake deal. It can make a number too...
The Anderson reminded me of an old Nova or Montecarlo setup. Not what I'd expect to hear from a Mustang but I loved it honestly
I just found this channel the other night. I have had an 87 gt and a 94 gt. My plan is to find another FOX soon!! Great information. I am hooked. Thank you for all the great information. You are real world. love it!

Well done video.
Thanks brother, can’t go wrong with any of them 👌
Notch all the way.....lol and that's basically stock
That Anderson B21 is a Soul Crushing sound. Hmmm 🤔, might need to add that to the parts list.
Dude this is by far one of my favorite videos of the cams well it is my favorite. Love how you took the time to explain each setup 👍🏻
The b303 sounds amazing
I'm bias as I had a B303 in my old Fox, but even after all these years, I still think its by far the best sounding one. It just has a great lobe sound.

This video was just awesome hands down nothing like a cammed Foxbody singing it’s song 🦅🦅🦅💯💯💯
The B303 sounds great with that exhaust set up. More raw and less muffled
Kind of crazy how the most rowdy car of the 4 (calypso) sounds the most tame.
Retro is my favorite still with the classic sound of the b303..but that anderson cam sounds great as well.
A turbo will do that.

They all sound great but I've always been partial to a 306 high-compression with a z303 cam
I had a 11:1 306 with a Isky custom grind..if I remember right it was 573 lift on 112 lope separation....sounded nasty!
Had the B303 cam in an 82GT with a GT40 crate motor (carbed). LOVED the way that cam sounded and performed. Wish I still had that one lol
Toss up between the Anderson and the almighty "B" cam.
Agreed.
I was thinking same thing for a stock motor that Anderson sounds amazing
I love Andrew's sound but that Red/Black GT is a very close 2nd and it almost sound like a Thumper cam in it. Thanks for the vid
My favorite is the Anderson cam. They all sound good but that Anderson gets my nod.
I could smell the Blu-gas through my screen Funny the Anderson & B-Cam came over my CC worded as Music ,Id have to disagree...all of what was just heard is music . so I told the you-tube figure it out yeah, get your CC updated. Papa T’s car is BADASS! Love the paint scheme, Love the sound, Love the whole setup!
Running B303 cam with 1.7 FMS roller rockers, trickflow Box upper , Brodix Alum 5.0 heads with twin turbos, has an incredible sound to it, you hear the sweet turbos sounds thru the exhaust right along with that sweet sounding B303.
They all sound pretty sweet to me, different but sweet sounding. My first would be the Retro Fox, just love
the sound and exhaust notes.
Bringing back memories. Miss my old SN95. Typical build. Top end kit with a e303 and a flowmaster exhaust.
Just something about a choppy idle sitting at the light ready to lay some stripes!

Does the N-21 pull, feel stronger than the b- cam? I will be running 1.7 rr,and the n-21 is designed for that? Appreciate the information.
Yea I third this
Well my friend I have a brand-new B can that's been sitting wrapped up nice and oily for the last 10 years brand freaking new you've convinced me to install it finally
💪
I seriously appreciate my f cam b347 v1-SI every time I start it. All those cars are awesome in their own way!
Great video. For some, boring but any old fox head greatly appreciates the time and effort for this video.
That B303 cam is legendary!
I have an '85 with a 306, Edelbrock heads,intake, b cam, holly 650, bbk long tubes, h pipe, flow master super 40's
And she has some serious chop!
All the cars in the video a beautiful.
Stunned and amazed, they all sound like they have after market camshafts in them, WOW!
The white one sounded awesome
im the knucklehead 17 yr old that put a x303 cam in a bone stock 85 GT! sounded good, ran like crap! washed cylinder walls down with gasoline and would even blow gasoline out the exhaust. had to change the oil constantly until i got more mods and better carb.
Love your channel the B- cam sounds incredible I love how you lined all of the cars up so we can actually hear the difference
All sound good but if I had to pick for myself B-cam love it gets the blood pumpin
They all sound awesome, but I'm a Flowmaster fan!!! The Notch and Pops car sounds the best.... And it's that ping sound that he's talking about 🔥🔥🔥
I’ve gotta go with Pop’s car. ✌️👍🇺🇸
You can’t beat the way that b cam sounds all that duration makes sound a lot bigger than what it really is love it
Man ive gotta say.....on this video its a close one for me between the Retro & Papa T's!!!
Damn, finding this channel is like finding my early 20's again 🥳😥
I know I'm late to this vid, but I love the red and silver. I had one just like it and ran the X303 in it. LOVED THE SOUND!
B21 and B303 for sure! Love the snotty idle!
💯
Mighty b cam for the win!!!
Like the jones muffles also.
The " B " cam is music to my ears.
Of course they all sound fantastic.
I'm diggin the retro fox sound the best. Love em all tho.
✊
That B303 sounds amazing
The comps cam makes the engine sound so healthy so beautiful 🎶👂
That B cam boogie does it for me. 😁
My old Fox I started out with E303 which had a decent lump. Moved to an Anderson B1 blower cam. That thing sounded wicked.
Which one made your car faster?
Which one made your car faster?
No time to watch im at work but here's a like and comment until I can watch later. This is going to be so awesome I can't wait!
🙌
No wonder why I can't find a fox body around. This dude has them all lol.. great vid!
I love it, what a great comparison! They all sound great, I thought the red and silver one with the b303 was carbureted. If I had to choose I guess I would pick Papa T's
Dude those paint jobs are fire …. The black and maroon is especially nice
That retro fox sound is amazing for a "hackjob" exhaust. My choice B F A X. Love the green hatch just to quiet.
The red and black car sounds the best in my opinion 👌
Exactly the order I would pick them in as well. They all sound amazing though👍🏼
B cam mafia for me.
Besides mufflers being a big factor on how loud, the B cam seems to take the lead.
I remember 13 yrs ago I ran a B cam in my 89 LX. Back then, NO one was running the B cam. They all wanted the E and F cams. lol my have the times changed.
