Aidan Roessig tosin as garstka)
+1
dang you i was coming here to make that same joke :D
And thus Djazz was born.
See tigran himasayan
Or Jent?
with the levels of musicianship that are being shown right here, it definitely makes sense that at some points it sounds like you would be fighting a final boss.
so crazy!!
Kevin Corkran I agree, reminds me of some knockoff final fantasy stuff
i felt like listening to a rhythm game boss song, specifically DrumMania/GuitarFreaks series.
Yesss! ... absolutely yes
i keep thinking ff7
Jesus Christ I knew Henrik was amazing, but didn't know he could play this kind of stuff too, and never expected to see Eldar and Matt play together either. Amazing stuff.
Exactly. First time hearing Henrik Linder playing odd time signatures and a lot of complex chord changes. So unexpecting!! He's such a beast!!!
From Matt’s Instagram post: “This is 100% raw and unedited! We made a point to be 100% honest.”
...that hurt.lol
Lol that’s simply not true though is it
%100 raw!? So it means that they did not overdub an electric guitar. :)
TehWinnerz How is it not true?
Alper Sönmez At what point is there an electric guitar? All I hear is the keyboard that’s sitting on the piano.
I’m a drummer but I came here for Henrik Linder the bassist, and I was impressed by the pianist. That’s saying how good these guys are 😆
Me. Too.
prominent double bass in jazz fusion: priceless.
Omni Optometrist only if we fight in odd time signatures owo
@Omni Optometrist nice dude, the mix is a lot better on this one
Check out Nova Collective.
@@bobloblaw9690 that sounds like legal double talk, bob 😂
It's a really old meme.
This is music. And garstka is such a versatile drummer yet still shows his style in everything he does.
It's barely music; does fusion really need to be re-explored?
Don't worry, you'll grow out of it.
jonescrusher1 Nice bait.
Andy Ham his articulation mixed with his velocity control makes for some of the best display in emotion through drumming.
This is one of my favorite songs in the history of music and I really mean that. I listen over and over. Jeezum Crow it is wonderful.
Make no mistake - Eldar is one of the greatest artists of our time and any time for that matter...the rest of this trio is simply lights out....unbelievable!
I remember listening to Eldar "the child prodigy" on my local smooth jazz station over 20 years ago..
That ride cymbal is gorgeous 😍
Finally some nice new music that is fresh and classy.
GEM makes me so happy there’s literally no way to describe it
The bassist's look took me back to my high school days in 04. But Matt Garstka's playing took me back to some of my drumming I did...in a dream...while I was sleeping.
Progressive Jazz. I can dig it.
BGaming Videos look up Tigran Hamasyan’s quartet
Actually in jazz it's called fusion, quite gnarly this musicians, superb
I thought fusion was "fusing" existing genres together into jazz, progressive I took as trying something new and exploring undiscovered territory. That was just my interpretation.
Yup, thats quite the deal with the term fusion, fusing two or more genres with jazz, using all the theory and technic of both amm worlds haha my point is in this case instead of being progresive (like the examples of rock and metal) its more accurate see this proyect as fusion project bevause of the harmony and composition structure (theme, solos etc) ((:
This is Snarky Puppy if they went ROGUE
Major Keith Emerson influence here with Eldar. Bravo 👏🏽👏🏽
This is x rated. Absolutely insane
wow. this is not a combination of musicians i’d ever thought of together, much less would happen. they’re all really talented though, and the end result is nicely intense. props
This trio is just mind blowing. I’m at a loss for words.
reminds me a lot of Tigran Hamasyan "mockroot" album!
was gonna say exactly the same...
thinking of the same, but i like this a lot!
Tigran is an influence of Matt.
Chip Kanobe No doubt, Arthur Hnatek is a god
je comprends ce que tu veux dire
Eldar is a BEAST man! Amazing new project
what...the..why. how. where in the heck have a been for 4 years for gods sake. this is AGAIN...next level listening music. and muscianship.
I am actually more impressed at that pianist to be honest, jesus christ thats some crazy limb independence he has
Eldar is amazing.
Check out virtue and Breakthrough. His stuff is incredible.
My thoughts exactly man.
BurnThePope crazy how much I see you in comments. Keep running into you for years now lol. Hope you're good. 👍
Try Hiromi
Dirty Loops featuring Tosin Abasi incoming! I predicted it in a UA-cam comment a long time ago
Breath-taking performance! Nice to see Eldar finally met with Hendrik and the incredible Matt on drum.
I found this hard to dance to, not impossible, just hard.
the smooth touches and the accent at 1:04 blew me away
YES!!!! Was in need of some great new jazz fusion. Incredible musicianship all around. Amazing to see how far Eldar and Tony Royster have come (remember they were both featured on the Grammy’s when they were kids).
How can anyone not like the virtuosity and beautiful emotional colors on display in this incredible piece. ;0)
I can't stop listening to this! Incredible!
I love all 3 of the dudes in this and this music is just fucking insane.
at least release this and the other 2 tracks as a sinlge, please, we need that so bad!
So complex but it ACTUALLY works...the intensity is jarring but also soothing AF. Literally my song of the month, and as I saw in the comments who hurt you Henrik, its illegal to be THAT good.
This is uber-human….Henrik confessed to having had nightmares before this, -and what happens here is frickin awesome!
Whoa! 🔥🔥🔥
Hands down one of the very best drummers this world has ever seen!
i cant get over how awesome this is. i keep coming back to it every week or so.
A whole new breed of musicians. Amazing, can't stop watching. More please
Eldar boy i'm gonna be studying and transcribing you for a looonngg time now
Jordan Johnson yo look who tf it be
Henrik Linder said that this is one of the most challenging things he has ever done in music. His “weak point” is the rhythm!!! Absolute monster
And BRO WTF IS GOING ON WITH ELDAR, he gone crazyyyy, he left me speechless.
this is where you listen 3 different masterpieces at the same time in harmony.
I don’t want the song to end! Great musicians. Blown away!
Awesome! So excited for the world to see this project!
I came here for Matt but DAMN that pianist tho....
I still love you Matt you’re phenomenal
Excellent!!! Very high level!!!
Matt garstka is the hottest drummer in the game HANDS DOWN
He’s really good too
Idk Halpern is a snack attack.
Elliott Hoffman from Car Bomb
I 1000% agree! He’s definitely #1 in my list for sure. But I do have so many favorite drummers, it’s not even funny. It’s awesome to see him do different things but still keep his flare that everybody loves. 😂❤️🙌🏽
Donati and Weckl would like a word with you
This was the most bad ass piano playing I’ve ever seen. When a pianist is upstaging Gartska and that German bassist dude, you know shit got real.
10/10.
I don’t know much about piano, but I know that that independence required to play the rhythm/lead around 3:40 is masterful.
Not to mention that wild shit he does after that at around 3:55.
Now that I think of it, this whole thing was insane.
That German bassist guy is Swedish :)
@@bassmanoz9577 : He is Swedish, but one of his parents is German 🙂
The next return to forever!!
You guys are out of this world! infinite vibes..
OK im done my favorite pianist and drummer collab..... GooOoOOosh
According to what is said in the Meinl interview just published (August 2018), a GEM album was recorded last year (2017). It'll be released "soon". Also, there are three more complete performances from this very session in Nashville. Let's hope Meinl releases those ASAP.
Steaknife You mean asap as in the 4 months your comment was posted?
Can't stop listening to this... Where's the album guys?... Please?...
Progressive metal fan here..let me tell you.. This is beyond gold, how awesome is that!!...
Damn. Eldar w Gartska. Never would I have imagined this. What a dream.
Yes!!! Three different worlds collide here!!
This is perfection. Ive been looking for a serious progressive piano focused act for a while!
3:58 the jazz piano and double bass combination we need
As someone who is a drummer and a pianist, this is a dream come true.
Brilliant. EL&P feel.
Fusion often sounds like an angry computer...this sounds angry and human. Totally refreshing.
Simply put.... WE. NEED. THIS. ON. APPLE. MUSIC.
Reminds me a lot of Mats/Morgan band 👍
Absolutely! Damn M&m are incredibly awesome
Here, we see the Garstka out of its natural habitat playing with a bassist, a truly rare occurance.
Came here for Matt, stayed for all.. insane musicianship, next level..
I think I know the recipe for this one: 1/5 Dream Theater, 2/5 Tigran Hamasyan, 2/5 Animals as Leaders, plus a dash of T.R.A.M and sprinkle of Trioscapes with a side of Mats/Morgan Band. That's gotta be close to it, right?
So marvelous and complex theme - i Love it
Just sick on so many levels!
mockroot vibez , love it🤘, struggling to find stuff like this 😍
I feel sick watching this. Overwhelmed by the mastery.
The piano dude just stole the show the entire time! Damn
This is just fantastic! So locked in and tight, awesome performance!
Why is it not on spotify? I need this so much
Great video. ☺️ This is another video that I've seen with the same people in it including Henrik from Dirty Loops on the Bass Guitar. ☺️
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾I’m standing!
Scary good! Great PLaying Guys.
Wooooow, unreal. Love the bassists expression...”What we doing after this ‘cos I’m getting a bit...”
Eldar Djangirov. No words.
That ride is the most beautiful cymbal I've seen. Would hang it on my living room wall.
Dear GOD this is intense! And freaking amazing!
This track is "ofensively amazing" keep doing
ELP is what I was first introduced to in Prog rock. Immediately listening to them first the first time and even now hearing them today after being a fan for years I’m always in awe at how amazing the music is with just Piano, Bass, and Drums. Something I’ve noticed further seeing other alternate or similar band 3 piece set ups I always find that it is so unique and stuff and great opportunity for all instruments to be synced as one and orchestrate a technical swagger that shows off the hard work paying off to every musician who put the time in to get to that level. Such a cool way to shred piano and show off some drum chops with great bass playing to fill the missing tone. The pianist are always unique (Keith Emerson.. Rick Wakeman) truly amazing to see an instrument like piano, that you grow up thinking is one of the more soft and beautifully intricate instruments, get shredded apart by unique playing, amazing speed and overall delicately phenomenal precision. The real reason I’m saying all this is because Matt Garstka kicks fucking ass and it’s sweet as shit seeing him rip it up to piano.
Then you must really love Niacin?
Rick Lang never heard of them going to have to get back to you on that
@@NoahDavidFrancis Surely Dennis Chambers, Billy Sheehan and John Novello must set off a bell?

Best 6min and 9 secs of my month.
Awesome!!! I hope to hear more songs. 👏👍🤟
This is the best progressive jazz I have heard in a long time!! WELL DONE! TORQUE is Transendant!!( deserves a properly mixed album) ?
Elder as leader with some crazy loops !!!
How did I sleep on this for so long
esses caras tem que fazer um projeto juntos pelo amor de deus !!!!!
esse som e de outro planeta
Those Tama star bubinga drums sound so damn good with these meinl cymbals. Love garstkas cymbal setup and his fat stack is my favorite cymbal of all time hands down, also have his equilibrium China which is the perfect blend between a 20 inch traditional China and a 20 inch extra dry China. Got the cut and brashness and loudness of the traditional with the dark dry qualities of the extra dry mixed into one perfect China cymbal. Not too cutting and loud when practicing by yourself but when playing in a live setting and you need it to cut through, it easily does the job. Just such a versatile dynamic China cause most chinas either have one of those qualities but not both like this China. Same qualities for the fat stack, not abrasive and too loud but just perfect but still cuts through any loud music depending on the tension you have the cymbal nut. And that pure ride sounds phenomenal as well. Def wanna get one of those.
I love the china as well. I think it works well with many genres since it can be interpreted differently in different contexts.
I'm in tears!
Thank you, thank you, and thank you.
I LOVE THIS!!!
Man can't wait to hear more from these guys
Progressive smooth jazz.
I can't get enough of this masterpiece 🔥💯💯💯
Wooooow!! Amazing 💣💣
henrik who hurt you
atopermusic LOL
i guess it’s just the aesthetic he likes, considering how consistent it is
somebody who only prefers over simplistic music.
atopermusic he doesn't seem as cheerful as in his dirty loops vids :(
Why did i lol?
Tyler Weibel he’s probably super concentrated 😁
Matt's feet and his hands are controlled by different people living in his head. Insane.
We need more of this!! I hope you guys are still working in new stuff
This performance is just too sick !!
Beautiful Yamaha
