Hey gang, this is 2020, and our boy Matt confirmed that GEM is dead when i asked him about it on a stream a few weeks ago. I was just passing by and i thought i should let you know. I really wanted this GEM record too... but I guess it's not meant to be.😭😔

Bass player is from dirty loops, not sure where the pianists from, great band though I prefer Matt's drumming in this situation than in animals, he has more room 2 express himself, this is my new fav band, I hope they release an album

On my life I listened to this song literally nonstop for days and it’s just… The small details. The long bass note at 3:10 for example. Just everything ugh I can’t with this song. So. Good. Such a shame GEM is dead (according to Matt :/)

On top of the outstanding musicianship, it’s incredible how simple and accessible they make 5’s and 7’s really seem and feel... opens up a lot of possibilities.
At this point I'm sure you have already but if you haven't go listen to the Modern Value EP by Victoria (Matt Garstka and Joshua De La Victoria) there's a lot of that in there which has easily become my new favorite musical concept after hearing Matt explain it and demonstrate it.
I like Vertigo and Crazy Tweaks too but Torque is by far my favorite.

Not since my college days and Chick Corea's "Romantic Warrior" Return To Forever band album have I been so deeply swallowed up in a pool of joy, laughter and tears. This is Mastery from beginning to...infinity! Thanks for all hours of life invested you 3 did to get "here" with your musicianship. I have no doubt Oscar Peterson and Herbie Hancock are applauding from above too!
In awe! the metal stuff Matt does is cool, but this shows a whole other level of perfection. Pianist and bassist are unbelievable, I cannot wait to hear more of this project.
