I have come across your video to gather information about buying this and it makes me want to get it right away. You earned a like and another subscriber
Great review! My wife and I are considering this band as we're on a budget. We've read several reviews that still left us with a couple concerns. Your review answered our questions about the HR tracking, and it's ability to be submerged in general activities. Thanks again, and you helped us out on our decision.
+Mick DeWitt awesome! Glad I could help, and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the detailed review. You touched some points that I didn't see in other reviews like the automatic jog detection, great job.
+StrikeFreedom1920 thanks! Glad it was helpful to you.
thanks for the running review, just exactly i was looking for :)
+hayderimran7 Perfect!

I just bought one for my boy and went straight back to the shop to get one for myself, im quite impressed with it
Thank you Eric that was great review!
Great review, you answer all my questions. thumbs up.
thanks for a great and thorough review. I was still on the fence about this one but this review made me decide to get it after all. it seems to be a solid tracker.
+Danielle Prewett It is definitely a solid tracker. It's not the very best on the market, but at its current price point it's a steal.
A compression review, so nicely done! Thanks mate.
+Kapil Thakare 👍

I really like ur review great job:-)
Great review! About to buy one myself. Do you recommend a screen protector? I heard there was a stock app for it and a paid one? Do you know the difference about the two? Also is it really that hard to read the time out in the sun? If you gave it some coverage using your hands could you see then? Thanks!!
Thanks for the review... Top class
+Chanaka Jayakody 👍thanks
Thanks for this video! I should have mine today. I have the MiBand 1, without heart sensor, and its at 30 days usage with 50% battery, amazing.
+Rudi Wells awesome! You'll really appreciate the new band and all its upgrades!
great review. very helpful. thanks
+Yuliendry Insafrestiandi 👍
i have it for about 2 months and its great, now im waiting for my metal strap to be delivered so i can eliminate the ONLY problem i have with it - sweating due to the original band material

Watching your video made me comfortable to get myself a new Mi Band 2, thank you for the complete reviews! I just subscribed to your channel!
*Can you recommend any good fitness apps other than Mi Fit? Thanks!
dicksontham93 is it worth to bought it?
Thank you for the review bro . It was just fascinating. Can't I see my hearth rate while running ?
Hi! Great review! I have a question though, does it work on iPhone? Thank you
thanks... just bought 1 yesterday..
super review! thanks you.
+davidogan thanks David!
what a great review.
I was buying this to have a calories calculation of my High intensity cardio workouts at the gym.
but i guess this would not help be as it tracks jogging and running. and not weights or HIIT or tabatas.
they are consistently improving the app, there is jogging tracking option in the app, you can manually set on to jogging mode when you are about to jog.
Thank you for the review. Can you tell me how do you track the sleep using this product
Thanks for the video. I'm just wondering, do I need to have this device connected to my phone all the time for it to keep data? Or does it store data within the mi band 2, to which I can read and save that data on my phone after a work out? When you said that it wasn't tracking your weight lifting work out, was that the heart rate not working? And does the heart rate not work all the time then? Thanks
very nice review thank you
+HannoSLM8213 👍
Hey Eric thanks a lot but I have some concerns does it calculate heart rate accurately? And is it worth it to buy this smart band?
thanks for your review
+Sarmad Hassan 👍
hello Erik, that's a very good review. can you plz tell me if this band can track elliptical trainer or cycling activity randomly?
Rampay Pramod Yes
Hey! While strength training does it register the changes in your heart rate? (that you are straining your heart, while still standing on one place)
Thanks for introduction!
+Graig Valley thanks!
Hey Eric ... thanks for the video. Very informative. One thing I would like to know. Though Is this band compatible with health app on iphone 7?
+Suraj Jena yes it is, thanks for watching!
thank you for you review here
i just wounder y all smart bands doesn't show time in seconds so i can track rest time between sets while i am training at gym
It only counts step or also tracks gym activities and calories? Like cross fit etc?
Hi.. i just got my mi band 2.. everything work quite well unless for sleep tracking.. it wont track my sleep pattern and i dont why it happen.. work on everything including reinstall the apps and create new acc.. but nothing seem to work.. any advice?
Good review
Thank for your video. Do you have a video on how to use this watch app. on MI device? thank in advance.
Nice review, looks pretty good for a low cost tracker, would be cool if they utilized the heart rate monitor more though...
Yeah, it's not bad. It's not on par with Garmin or Fitbit products, but it's not trying to be.
the hardware is definitely good enough. only the software sucks. it's running on a closed ecosystem, which make the use very limited. can't even use Sleep as Android because of the ecosystem. I wish xiaomi could be more open and allow third party developers to make full use of the hardware.
Yes, you CAN separate the walking and the jogging. Check your Mifit app.
gr8 review! btw does it good for cycling ?
+asif ian unfortunately it's not good for cycling, it has no way to detect your pace or how far you ride
does atleast it track cycle paddling as a steps? :p
hey bro which camera you used to make this video????
hi Eric! great review! would like to know if you can use the vibration for this as sleeping alarm clock? Can it display the date and day? thank you :)
+Lou Loop it does not display the date and day, but it does have a alarm that can be set with the vibration feature
Thank you for your prompt reply sir! I thought you can add the calendar app in the mi app for it to show the date and day. I hope Xiaomi can update that feature as well. Thanks :)
+Lou Loop you may be right on that one, i'll have to doublecheck and see
Thank you sir. I hope it can show those options too like the Garmin Vivosmart. Mi Band 2 costs $45 here in the Philippines from online resellers. Still looking for a physical store or a cheaper way to purchase it. Thank you 👌
March 2017: Amazon was selling this for $70. The Fitbit Charge HR is $90. The slim price difference shocked the crap out of me!
papaGhurka i bought mine for 35 bucks 👀 ( Amazon Germany)
papaGhurka 23€ on DX.com
My wife has had hers for 10 months and has not had any issues with it. She wears it daily and loves it!
+Chris Robison Awesome, good to know
Thanks for the review, it was really useful. I am planning to buy this product but I have found 2 other fitness tracker which really caught my attention: 5 Plus Smart Bluetooth 4.0 Watch and Zeblaze ZeBand BLE 4.0. Generally, I would need a fitness tracker which counts calories, steps, distance, running, biking, home workouts...Could you help me please, which is more suitable for me from these fitness trackers? Thank you very much.
In the Brightside video he mentions figuring out his circadian rhythms with the mi-2 band does it do that through an app can you recommend which app?
Have you tried the vibration setting for this band as an alarm? Is it strong enough to wake up a heavy sleeper?
Hello Eric, the mi fit app has an option of manually starting an activity and tracking it using the phone's gps and the band's heart rate sensor. It would be useful if you could do an update testing that feature as to the accuracy of the gps and heart rate measurements.
Yes, that's an update over what I originally tested. I'll see if I can maybe do another updated video. Thanks for the idea!
Very nice review....
hey, will this band completely response with the iPhone 6, such as call alerts, message alerts...
+glidin bernabas It will let you know that you have an incoming call or message, but you won’t be able to see what the actual message is
do you have to have your phone with you in order to track milage when jogging or heart rate?
I hope that I can receive this as my new year present
hi techy agent, i just want to know if do i need to turn omy bluetooth on all the time for it to function as a pedometer and a heart rate tracker? thanks
Hey, thanks for the awesome 'real review'. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S7 and my brother is using an iPhone 6. I was just wondering if this band is compatible these two mobile set. And, can I use with the Samsung Health app and with the default app from iPhone. Or we just need to the Mi Fit app? Expecting your response.
It is compatible with ios and the Health app automatically connect to the Mi app. Works fine for me :D
I dont understand how they call it a fitness product when it cant monitor exercising heart rate. That aside you did a great review, good job!
+Branden Carroll yes, it's definitely the lowest grade "fitness tracker", but at least it's cheap! Haha!
the updated Mi Fit app can monitor your HR continuously. other 3rd party app can do the same.
Great video, is there a active/sport mode for running with timer and distance?
+Ryan Taylor unfortunately not, this does not offer a lot of features because it's a low-end health wearable
Thanks, I am trying to decide between the ID107 and the mi band 2. i believe that the ID107 does have a active mode?
Nice video
Has this device received any OTA updates, after you've published this video, to improve its' heart-rate sensor so that you don't have to manually activate it?
Ordered!
And I suggest you update the link because it shows as "Currently unavailable"
Can you also see the KM that you've done while running? And is there an option to see the "Running Map" with an app, after you've finished the Run? ... like a green or red line in Google Maps, some apps have that.. but can the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 track the running path..
Hey, I am wondering how does it do in terms of checking my results through an app/the app? Can you share your data with others or post them somewhere? Can you compete with others or challenge anyone? Thank you.
Nice Review. I'm wondering about the activity tracking. On what version of the app are you? I've got version 2.1.4 installed on Android and it doesn't automatically recognize runs. Just states it as walking in my app. Can you elaborate how you set this up?
well, I didn't really set up anything. I installed the app on my iphone (ios operating system). I'm assuming that it installed to the latest version of the Mi app. I don't know for sure, but perhaps the android version is different?
+Techy Agent kinda seems like it. I'll test it with an iPhone as soon as possible. Maybe the Android app is a few versions behind. Thanks for the update though!
Is the screen can auto on then user bring up their hand to the watch checking gesture? If yes, is this watch remember the last mode it display on screen. For example if last time in heart rate monitor mode, it will still display the same mode if we do the gasture / press the button?
Thanks
Wht do u recommend for gym work out?
Plz explain fitness band for gym exercise which is good in the point of view of gym workout ...Can we track it or not
Thank you!
while strength training or at gym does it count calories burnt?
Great review. Does it have the smart alarm function?
+Mustafa Burak Bascumali not that I'm aware of. It does have a vibrating alarm for a set time
you said it doesn't track heart rate all except with a 3rd party app but doesn't it use the same app as the 1s, which you said does track heartrate during sleep and resting HR? why would the new one not us the HR sensor to track sleep if the old one does?
Good question! So the mi band 1s did track your heart rate during sleep, however you never got to see those numbers/data. It just used that information to help with the sleep tracking accuracy. You could, however, use the app to take a manual reading of your resting heart rate, however it wasn't automatic and it did not keep a log. On the Mi Band 2, the built in sensor will take manual readings using the app or the band. It will log those readings. I don't know for sure if it still uses the HR sensor for sleep tracking or not.
+Techy Agent so it does use the same app though Right?
also I hear there are better 3rd party apps that can use the HR sensor and do more with it ,have you tried any of those?
also can you please do video on how to make this thing work with Google fit ,all the instructions I found are wrong and I can't figure it out. ,they all just show pictures of a non existent "menu" screen that I do not see anywhere in my App they must have not updated the directions for the newest app because I can't find the menu in the pics anywhere or any way to link it to Google fit I think they have removed the ability to link to Google fit because i can't find any way to link it,
the app version i have seems really limited
Techy Agent oh yeah app version is 2.1.8
And there is no way to link it to google fit
All the directions I found say to go to "menu"
But there is no "menu" anywhere in this whole app
There is just "settings" under the "profile" tab at the bottom.
There are only 3 tabs at the bottom ,"status" ,"play", and "profile"
There is no "menu" under any of them ,in the play tab I see a heading in fine print that says "add accounts" then it has 3. Chinese apps I never heard of under it But there is no option to add anything else
Thanks for the review, can you share the 3rd party application we can use for heart rate monitoring..
I haven't tried any personally, sorry.
Thank you for this review! I'm going to get a mi band 2 even though the 3 has been out for awhile. The 3 seems bigger and chunkier and has a lot of features I don't need. I have a Fitbit HR and I hate it. My wrists are small and it is too big, even when using smaller straps. And I have to tap the screen about ten times really hard to get the display to come on. Twisting my wrist to turn the display on doesn't work. Anybody want a free Fitbit? Lol.
Are it must supposely have connection with the phone?
I want to wear it to the school too but I can't bring the phone together
Hello, thanks for the review,
Should I keep my smartphone's Bluetooth on all the time or only when I need to read the data ?
azad did you find any answer ? Cuz i am looking for it
Is the distance reading accurate ?.As iam practicing for marathon so i want to know the distance.Though iam using mi band 1.
Which app should one use for continuous heart rate tracking for the mi band
Thanks!
hello.. when we bring this band when running.. did we need to bring our phone too? to calculate the calories burn? because its connect it via bluetooth to our phone right?
Muhammad Firdaus arshad no it works alone
Keep that in mind, that it's actually very easy to enable showing distance, calories burned and battery percentage on the band using the official application. Anyway, it's a great device, I can only recommend it, and if you buy a cheap 3rd party app for it, it can do SO MUCH MORE, it's totally worth it. (note: this is NOT supposed to be an advertisement, just a friendly recommendation to anyone planning to buy the band, I'm not saying a particular app name, and I'm in no way affiliated with that apps owner.)
Thanks for the comment! Yes, for less than $50, it's a great fitness tracking option.
which apps did you use for it?
I can't find it anywhere, can I take only Mi Band for running, without taking my phone with me? Will it save the training data and then send it to the phone when they will be connected or it's not working without connection with a phone?
it will save your data and send it back to your phone when u synch it.
Thanks, now I can buy it.
don't know
I have had the MiBand 1 for a year, it does the same thing. Read my comment above. Now I am waiting for the second one to arrive
Great video!, to track sleep, is it automatic or do I have to go to the behavior tagging and activate sleep?, can I turn the device off? Im not going to be using it everyday, thanks
+Jose Alberto F it automatically tracks sleep. To be honest, I'm not sure if you can turn it off or if you have to let the battery die
Hi do you have a easy way to get this up and running with my phone. THANKS
does the manual heart rate tracking is accurate and sudden?
Hi, What about biking? Can this wristband be efficient in monitorizing while biking? I wanted it for bodybuilding, fitness, biking. Thanks!
+PaulPPR this will not track biking or bodybuilding. It really only tracks hiking, walking, jogging.
Does the app that goes along with this device integrate with other fitness apps like myfitnesspal or google fit? Will it pass the data collected by the band to those apps? Thanks for any info you or others may have.
+dpbloom it integrates with Apple health and google fit, but I think that's it. The data collected by the band will go to those two apps.
+Techy Agent. Thanks for the quick reply. Great review.
Hi, Do I need to turn on the Bluetooth just can track while I am jogging? :)
when you take this band for running, do you also take your phone? Could we only take the band when we do outdoor activities and then sync it when we reach home?
+Andri Fitriyadi yes, you do not need to take your phone with you, it will automatically sync when you get home within Bluetooth range
would you recommend this over the 1s for a first time fitness band? I don't really need any of the alerts etc.
+Chris Embleton yes, I would recommend this over the 1s. For just a few dollars more, it's a substantial upgrade
+Techy Agent it's about twice the price here in the rip off UK. £37 vs £19.
+Chris Embleton ah, I see. Well, either one will work, both are great products. If you can swing the extra money, the Mi Band 2 is a big improvement. But you would be happy with either one really
Can i reset the steps counter to 0 when i decide to start running or in particular time?
plzzz can you tell me that will this product will work without connection to a device
Does it count my hours of sleep by measuring my heart rate? Or do I need to adjust a timer the moment I sleep?
