That's strange because I used to have a load of knives. I now have two after selling all my TRCs and Chris Reeves etc. Now I only have two, a stainless garberg and a carbon one. That said TRC do make flawless and amazing knives.
Bro I'm surprised everytime I visit this channel again that they are not exploding. Maybe timestamps would make it more watchable though. By the way, how is it possible to get the DBK knife? Do you just have to check the shop everyday until it is not sold out?
Too broke to afford a $375 knife, but I LOVE to watch you work! You gents do an excellent job of informing and entertaining. Thank you again for another great video!
Terävä Jääkäripuukko from Varusteleka is also considered a military knife fron Finnish perspective, if the 375 is an obstacle for getting a good mil/surv/allround knife.
Nobody does knife reviews like you guys, always entertaining and shows the knives capabilities. Got to get me a Trc knife, I love them. Thanks again, great video.
When I was just a little lad not much younger than you two I had a BuckMaster184 and I swear if you can get one to test as they are very vintage @2:20 it took branchs just like that in one swing no effort. That first slice Mikki did reminded me of that fond moment , great video as always.
Just came back from the woods. This is an EXCELLENT knife. It is now my favorite one. By FAR. M390 doesnt matter, this thing PERFORMS. This is like a Porsche or a Ferrari, not an F350. As long as you avoid prying shit with it, and stabbing cars like JoeX, this thing will hold up. Its edge never goes away, and it can be doused in water or rain and be alright. Highly highly recommended.
Excellent blade. I liked mine so much I ordered myself another. My spine was absolutely useless for striking a ferro rod, though. I ground the spine near the handle where the M-1SL is laser marked, It now has an actual 90 degree spine & throws sparks very well. Lionsteel T5 is a good budget version of this blade btw for anyone that wants a cheaper option. T5 is also an excellent knife.
Lionsteel are no where near the level of TRC though.Their geometries on the bevels is the worst I ever had on a knife and their heat treatments, aren't perfect, where on TRC they are. Same goes for the materials (steel, sheath etc). (in my experience) Only thing that Lionsteel is better at, is the handle comfort, but it sacrifices grip, which means the TRC is a safer knife that can indeed serve better a professional or a military use role.
@@greekveteran2715 Yeah, I definitely agree on that. Blade geometry is nowhere near as good as TRC but because lionsteel are thicker behind the edge you can remove the shoulder, pull the edge right back, & put a high shallow convex on them. Martin keep the beard going. I've been growing mine since probably last August and at points it it is an adjustment for a week or two. Don’t know what it’s worth but looking at the test GUY from survive did on 20cv 11 years à do think it can perform well for bushcraft. He froze a 4inch 20cv in a block of ice and process some frozen 2x4 with it. You can see it bend without breaking much more than I would ever think

I feel like the knife community has left me. I used to watch videos to find a good affordable knife. Nowadays every knife reviewer has 300+ knives and everyone is the most amazing knife they have ever seen. Until the next video. Well there has been a few knives that broke . I can't imagine someone trying to say a stainless super steel is a great survival knife. Nobody actually tests these expensive blades. This is basically a commercial for overpriced cutlery the best ever. At least you can probably buy this one. Worktuff the others push are always soldout. But evidently free to knife channels. I just don't see any situation ever that i need a $200 knife so more is even crazier. Marketing and branding. Fortunately i know how to sharpen so all my knives can be sharp.
Hello! I was wondering if I should buy the naniwa professional/chosera set. How long have you guys had them before needing to replace them (worn out)? Are they strong enough for elmax?
They will last for a very Long time. I’ve used mine often for 2 years. And you can’t really see it. My favorite’s are the 600, 1000, 3000. For my Buschcraft knives, i leave it at 600 (for bite). For kitchen i bring it up to 3000. I have a Lot of different Stones. The Naniwas are King. Shapton very close though, and a bit cheaper. For reprofiling the Atoma 140.
"The best" military knife - when used for bushcraft & survival only! I wouldn't say that's candidate for the best in military/tactical usage. I can say just by looking at it that it is far from having the best penetrability tip, nor the best hand retention handle 😉. Although it looks to be an exceptional all-arounder / survival small tool.
Ohh Lads now that is one make I have actually had my eyeballs on for a little while now, I’m a folder knife man at heart as I live in this land that is the UK or in other words a country that’s knife laws are made by a bunch of idiots we call a government. They have got a good number of models but you know what it’s like we are always keeping our eyes open for the newer models to drop sometimes they are a hit sometimes they are a designer’s drug fuelled invasion that should never have been put into production lol. So thank you lads for doing your impression of this one much appreciated 👍🏼 highlights of this week both go to Mikkie B one for the carving work and second for how well you treated Maartens camera hahahaha you’re are definitely a class of your own. Tops Mountain Lion Knife. No lanyard hole but check it out
Great mates🤘 do youbown the Autine Kurbads? If yes, could you do a test? 😬🤘
Well we did make a video about a $2,5 dollar knife just last week!
You guys should compare the mil tec Bundeswehr combat knife and the Maserin Bundeswehr knife.
Nice vid.
Now done where you put a convex grind on this knife...
Cheers !
Just received my Falkniven S!X love it. Thank fellas. This is maybe my fav channel. Just kidding it is. lol Hello from Canada
I’ve got the big brother A1X. It’s sooo awesome
That is awesome. The N4 will be my next@@frostriver4547
And I got the little brother… F1X, in Eeeeeelmax!
Lovely knife, wonderful steel.
@@jez76 I see all the F1 variants are available in Elmax now.
Bought a Fallkniven A1X because of this channel. I'll take it for my Algonquin park trips 😊
They helped me in deciding on the A1X over the S1X. Love that knife
@@frostriver4547 How does it hold an edge when batoning?
"The best" military knife - when used for bushcraft & survival only!
I wouldn't say that's candidate for the best in military/tactical usage. I can say just by looking at it that it is far from having the best penetrability tip, nor the best hand retention handle 😉. Although it looks to be an exceptional all-arounder / survival small tool.
Looks like you ate that last cheeseburger Marteen 🤣🤪 😬. Do you come with a backing up noise now? lol
You guys should try cooking lion steaks.
Can we see a Montana Knife Company knife review ?
we can't promise sadly as we get many requests. But if we hear the request enough we'll definitely consider it!
$600 in Canada
Ohh Lads now that is one make I have actually had my eyeballs on for a little while now, I’m a folder knife man at heart as I live in this land that is the UK or in other words a country that’s knife laws are made by a bunch of idiots we call a government. So i collect mostly folders spyderco, Benchmade, lionsteel, Giant Mouse, cold steel, MKM, WE, hell the list goes on like all of us that get into this madness that is knife collecting. I only have a few fixed blades I do believe I got 11 nothing really ohh lah lah on the quality side but this is the one thats since i seen it has had my mind going all fizzy for some reason so you having the TRC M1SL on today is absolutely perfect! Looking forward to seeing next weeks instalment already lads. As always you two stay safe and healthy that goes for the loved ones in your lives as well.🫵🏻😘👍🏼
OHHH YEEZUS.😊
Mille cuori ?
G'day Guys, yep nice alright, personally, solid rivets would be better again.
I do like a convex, though happy enough with a regular sabre.
Wow, 80 knicker for a rib eye, ...... are you folks running out of cows ; )
At least you only have to sacrifice 5 steaks to get this knife. Cheers Duke.
You gotta stop featuring TRC knives in your channel for a while. It’s been years since I’ve seen one in stock, and every time you show one, that wait list go further
Their standard models get restocked all the time. Set up restock notifications at several retailers.
it's mostly the size of their batches. They're all hand made. so the batches are a few 100 at a time. TRC is pretty much my favourite brand at this time. I can't stop :D I need them all hahaa
TRC is the new Fallkniven. High quality workmanship and materials. Very practical designs.
Nice Ribeye considering you guys cooked over a hot campfire 👍
