He seems to sing from his soul and when he does it touches my soul..This song takes me way back to being a young girl of around 13 and i heard him singing this and i just so wanted to be grown up and go and dance with a boy and see the stars and be in love...honest to god even now when i hear this i kind of shiver as im back all those years..50 odd years or so now lol,but truly he takes my breath away and im young and beautiful and carefree again..just wonderful...xxx🙏👍💞🇬🇧💖👋🙂
My father and I watched him on Ed Sullivan in 1968. Perhaps one of the greatest vocal and cover. I like the Doors, in fact, I really the Doors. But Jose makes this His song. What a memory...TJ STRUSKA
This was on Midnight Special show 1973 where he also presented two songs of his new great LP "Compartments", hope to find videos of these, "Simple Song" and especlally the great song "Compartments"
Insane talent here; constant vocal key changes without a pause....like it's nothing. Remember when the Doors were singing it in 1967 with 'Season of the Witch' and Jim Morrison was everywhere with this song. But when Jose showed us how it's done on a 12 string acoustic!
This isn't the best version even by Jose'. I love both Jose' and the Doors, but they almost seem to be two different songs altogether. The first time I ever heard Jose's version was on an AM transistor radio very late at night, could even have been the wee hours of the morning as we were camping out at the time. Fell in love with it on the spot. Never even associated it with The Doors version, and I still don't. : ) I give Jose' full credit for his interpretation of this song though. Happy Holidays to all ; )
@@shawnbruce6934 He did his own interpretation of The Star Spangled Banner instead of singing it in its original style. Unfortunately, people went ballistic over his version.
Funny thing about this used to think the Doors version was hands down better but over the years I'm starting to realize what a great job Jose did here and with the other version so overplayed now prefer this one.
@@chiefxx8259 agree, not saying this version is bad, I prefer the Doors, just listening to this intro and seeing that date July 73’ makes u think Jim had been dead for 2 years already and still would’ve been in his 20’s. Very sad but good intro
@@allegra0 silence. Even if we're entitled to our own little opinion. Your opinion in particular is incredibly wrong. Morrison would commend him on his talent and innovation.

I love this song
미친감성.. 듣는사람도 미치게한다.
best version of Light My Fire
It’s great but that’s not possible. The instrumental from the original is one of the best pieces of music ever recorded. This version lacks that.
It honestly is
@formula carl. Extremely valid point

I totally agree
Jose was blacklisted after performing his fantastic rendition of The Spangled Banner in 1968.
Not for long!
Why?

Jim Morrison will always be the best
@@chiefxx8259 definitely not, not in a trillion years. Jose copied the song, no talent.

I have read a lot about Morrison and I doubt that he would applaud this lightweight.
