Yes, everyone knows that he is an imitation. SNK will admit to that, but this intro still shares the style to the Art of Fighting games when a match starts. For most of you, you are probably too young to remember that game.
I used to sleep over my cousins house who had this game. He mained Kyo and I mained Iori. It would be 2am and we'd be hopped up on moutain dew. Everytime their intro hit, we'd get so hyped like we we're fighting for our families honor. lol. We were so lame. Those were the days man...

Back when this game was released it was so insanely cool to see all of these characters, those special intros were an amazing way to show the character's personalities even if you dont know about them new and old rivalries are presented so well and gotta love the meta jokes like the one with Dan and Yuri.
MARVEL and DC deserve a game like this.... not only would the matches make way more sense logic wise. It also gets reality breaking Weird and Tiring seeing JustCommonHumanAttorney - PhoenixWirght -OR JustSchoolLoliGirl - Sakura - beating MarvelsGreenForceWhoPotentiallyBrakesAPlanet, and the humans win with their hitboxes. Just cause said humans won a poll contest to be in the game, because fanboys.....
For a guy from those days like me watching this is like meeting old friends after a lot of years. I see some of these intros with a slight smile in my face and nostalgia. Even these were characters from fighting games some of them were really charming and nice. I bet that I'm not the only one who remember this stuff with affection. You don't see this kind of characters nowadays.
I remember being a total fan of all SNK fighting games, they were the best. But I was also fond of Street Fighter,so when the Capcom vs SNK came out, it was the biggest fangasm I have ever had as a gamer...
@@nore5888 Yeah but that's only dialogue. Better example is how Joker's victory screens override the normal victory screens in both 1v1s and team matches. He even has a special victory screen for if he wins with a final smash. Given all of that I wouldn't be surprised if they did break conventions and do a special intro for 1v1 matches with Terry and Ken.

I love this. Why can't we have those in Street Fighter 5? Ah yes, it's too much to ask for, especially in the CURRENT YEAR. I mean, they delivered a 50% completed game, how could we ever ask for this?
Capcom vs SNK 3 needs to come out already. one of the most greatest created games ever made imo. They should stick to all the grooves and keep all the fighting mechanics the same. Only tweak what needed tweaking to begin with. It would sell millions of copies worldwide no question. Of course put Dee Jay & Fei Long in thea too. God willing it will happen

Back in the day a lot of people complained this game was mostly Street Fighter vs KOF, and that all the other Capcom/SNK properties were either underrepresented or totally absent... comparing it to the wild variety in Marvel vs Capcom 2, I suppose. But I think Capcom absolutely made the right choice. It allowed them to do so many dream matches fans wanted to see for ages, and let them ground the mechanics of the game more without having to accommodate characters who were too crazy.
The game is also really balanced... even low tiers become good if you find the right groove for them and take the game more seriously. Also the bottom tiers - Dan, Maki and Kyosuke - can surprise you
This also opened the door for SNK to publish an alternative game that did go into the wider roster (as sub bosses to accommodate their over the top gameplay) shortly after; SvC Chaos. I feel like a CvS3 should take the approach Chaos did and have a roster of more over the top sub boss fighters that don’t use the Groove system on top of the core roster of fighters. Even then some IP like Darkstalkers and World Heroes are already fairly over the top. You’re right that SNK’s non-fighters are generally less memorable than Capcom’s thus have less demand for a dream match; I can only name a few IP of that category off the bat, and many of Capcom’s don’t share genres with SNK’s.
It's unfortunate that Capcom really cheaped out on the character sprites on the Capcom side. It just really doesn't jibe well to see the more detailed SNK and certain Capcom characters (M.Bison, Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li) against the old Alpha sprites and especially Morrigan's sprite with its huge black outline.
+AirLancer Sagat's Alpha sprite is my favorite Sagat, and I'm glad they didn't change him in CVS2... But I agree, they look so outdated compared to the SNK or some Capcom fighters, that make the game sometimes look like a MUGEN of it...

I didn't see when you pick Benimaru vs Kusanagi at the Shanghai, China location. Daimon of KOF appears in the background to watch his fellow teammates duke it out. It's pretty cool. He makes few facial gestures, he stands at certain times as well. Try it out guys :-)

Cool. but I find both a characters to be terrible. FANG in particular looks like he belongs in a Disney Pixar movie and takes away any seriousness SFV has.

Back when this game was released it was so insanely cool to see all of these characters, those special intros were an amazing way to show the character's personalities even if you dont know about them new and old rivalries are presented so well and gotta love the meta jokes like the one with Dan and Yuri.

For a guy from those days like me watching this is like meeting old friends after a lot of years. I see some of these intros with a slight smile in my face and nostalgia. Even these were characters from fighting games some of them were really charming and nice. I bet that I'm not the only one who remember this stuff with affection.

Hakuto Sazuki & Mai Shiranui should have a Special Unique Intro
Back in the day a lot of people complained this game was mostly Street Fighter vs KOF, and that all the other Capcom/SNK properties were either underrepresented or totally absent... comparing it to the wild variety in Marvel vs Capcom 2, I suppose. But I think Capcom absolutely made the right choice. It allowed them to do so many dream matches fans wanted to see for ages, and let them ground the mechanics of the game more without having to accommodate characters who were too crazy.
The game is also really balanced... even low tiers become good if you find the right groove for them and take the game more seriously. Also the bottom tiers - Dan, Maki and Kyosuke - can surprise you
Sessyu Tsuikikage & Mai Shiranui can have a Special Unique Intro
This also opened the door for SNK to publish an alternative game that did go into the wider roster (as sub bosses to accommodate their over the top gameplay) shortly after; SvC Chaos. I feel like a CvS3 should take the approach Chaos did and have a roster of more over the top sub boss fighters that don’t use the Groove system on top of the core roster of fighters. Even then some IP like Darkstalkers and World Heroes are already fairly over the top.
You’re right that SNK’s non-fighters are generally less memorable than Capcom’s thus have less demand for a dream match; I can only name a few IP of that category off the bat, and many of Capcom’s don’t share genres with SNK’s.
Chun Li telling Shin Gouki to surrender and Haohmaru saying he's going to take down a Demon are the most funny thing I've ever seen.

It's unfortunate that Capcom really cheaped out on the character sprites on the Capcom side. It just really doesn't jibe well to see the more detailed SNK and certain Capcom characters (M.Bison, Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li) against the old Alpha sprites and especially Morrigan's sprite with its huge black outline.

I didn't see when you pick Benimaru vs Kusanagi at the Shanghai, China location. Daimon of KOF appears in the background to watch his fellow teammates duke it out. It's pretty cool. He makes few facial gestures, he stands at certain times as well. Try it out guys :-)
