  • Hope you enjoy my MOD 2 practical motorcycle test in Nottingham. This was done in July 2020, the date and time stamp on the footage is correct (it was an early start)! This is the bike I've primarily learned on, it's a Yamaha MT-07, my training school has just taken delivery of two brand new ones!
    Speaking of training schools, I would HIGHLY recommend Roadcraft Nottingham based on BEECHDALE ROAD, NOTTINGHAM who helped me through all my training, from CBT to MOD1/MOD2. Check out their page/channel for hours of help and advice!
    / @roadcraftnottingham
    As hard as 2020 has been this is one of the best things that I have achieved throughout it!
    Apologies for it not being as polished/edited as well as others but this is my first proper upload and I'm new to this. Any advice/criticism will be taken onboard for future uploads. I've added a couple of notes along the way but if you have any questions drop me a comment and I'll try to elaborate. The footage starts just after the show me/tell me questions from the examiner, if you don't know them have a read through them from the .gov website.
    If anyone is nervous/due to take their MOD 2 the best advice I can give is if your training school is willing to put you in for your test, relax, you're ready! This is one of the Nottingham routes the examiner likes, especially early mornings, less traffic. The few times I stop is when the examiner asked me to and was also giving me instructions of what we were doing next.
    Lastly, I probably will further edit this footage in the future but this is the pretty raw, original footage.
    Thanks for watching (and reading this if you have!) and happy riding! Please drop me a like if you did!
    *edit* I've had to mute a few sections of music so excuse some silent sections, apparently the royalty free music I used isn't free lol **

    Failed mine yesterday! With only 3 minors and about 200metres to the test centre and end of exam, I was at a traffic light in lane singalling to turn right in front of a box junction (right arrow clearly on the ground). Some 18 wheeler from Europe decides to come past me on the left lane (arrow indicating straight on his lane) and pulls up ahead, put his truck ahead of me and turns in slightly to the right. If I raised my right elbow an inch I would have touched him he got that close to me. I moved off and took the right turn because I had enough space to get into the new road and if he moved on, he would've touched my front wheel or even crushed me. The exit wasn't even clear for him and had he taken it, his trailer would've blocked the whole box junction!! Examiner said, I should've stayed put but he was several meters behind me so very unlikely the truck would've made contact with him from where he was positioned. I'm a competent rider and had this gut feeling, it wasn't me who was going to mess up but someone else for me. Absolutely effing fuming. Passed Mod1 first time. Could've passed Mod2 first time but for the actions of another road user. I have to wait 10 days to do again but the weather will only get worse as it chucked it down the whole time I was riding!!! Honestly feel like it was my best chance to pass and unnecessarily have to fork out more cash to do something I technically passed first time round. Absolute knobhead HGV effed up my exam when he could've waited knowing full well I'm wearing high-vis with an examiner clearly behind me on a bigger bike. Gutted!

    • @binghambiker6656
      @binghambiker6656  3 роки тому +4

      Gutted for you mate, but at least on the bright side you only have to wait 10 days. Know someone that had to wait over a month for a retest. To be fair tho this is the ethos of riding a bike, take a breath, let it slide and carry on. You'll get there !

    • @binghambiker6656
      @binghambiker6656  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah pretty much, you don't quite see but at the zebra crossing there's a no entry sign so those cars are coming "up" a one-way street so I have no option but to turn right but also have a give-way at the junction. Had the lorry been a car I'd have probably been able to turn at the same time (as they can't really do anything but turn up the road I was coming from) but as he was larger I allowed him room. Examiner actually commented on this junction and how I dealt with it, was very pleased.

      @Near2Future 3 роки тому

      @@binghambiker6656 I just thought it wasn't a mini roundabout due to the no entry. Might cause more confusion, their definitely is a space restriction for sure.
