    My absolute favourite steak when I was young was a seared sirloin that was then cooked in the oven on a bed of onions and also topped with onion and covered in foil, cooked for about 20 minutes on a high heat and it was just delicious.
    Probably not the best way to cook a sirloin but for me it was just a tasty, lovely, moist, succulent, tender and easy meal that was "put in a pan to sear it, then pop in an oven tray and forget it for 20 minutes" and you got what to 12 year old me was the best steak imaginable.

      I'm a boomer and remember when SIRLOIN was a tasty, mostly tender steak that middle class folks could enjoy. Sirloin can be good, but not as easily as it was. I'm STILL going to get steak though. LOL

    Personal notes:
    1. Rest steak to room temp. 30 minutes
    Thaw frozen steak first
    2. Thick steaks better
    3. Olive oil, salt, pepper rubbed on steak
    Then seared without added oil
    4. Garlic and butter ontop after steak is cooked
    5. Thermometer 130 degrees F in oven
    6. 10 minutes rest for juices to absorb back

I set my air fryer to 350° and put my steak in there for 30 minutes and flipped it at the 15 minute halfway mark. It came out medium rare 😊 warning though- I used a fat steak that was like a pound of meat so take that into consideration. You could burn your steak if you put the wrong settings for it's size ❤️

    Thanks, I cooked steak for my first time ever and used this method. I followed the steps and it seemed like the process was quicker than expected. After I finished I cut the steak for my first bite and saw some clear "jelly" looking stuff where I cut and I got paranoid it wasn't fully cooked, so I threw it back on the stove top for another 5 minutes and it was more well done afterward (which I like). Come to find out what I saw and thought was uncooked meat was more than likely just fat. Anyways, in the end I made a pretty tasty steak and the process was much quicker than I would have thought. Thanks for the help!

    We used a copper skillet with excellent results. This is a fabulous way to cook steaks. As for resting in the pan, I love my steak rare so I rest them on a plate and also forego the oven finish. But it also depends on how thick your steaks are- mine are usually just under an inch. Everything else I follow exactly. If. you can find dry aged beef-it is amazing.

      Steak should not be eaten everyday, it is used as a treat food. Not a daily meal. Eating steak everyday will ruin the excitement and experience of it.

    I'm sick of using my George Foreman grill in my Apartment and setting off the smoke alarms every time i do steaks! Might try this method

    • @jessestratowski6178
      @jessestratowski6178 5 років тому +2

      The smoking-hot pan is even more likely to set off the fire alarms...always does in my house (but it's worth the effort).

    • @IronWolf277
      @IronWolf277 5 років тому +2

      Jesse Stratowski I didn’t follow this method, my steaks were thin enough to just pan fry on medium heat for 7min per side. Still kinda smoking had to keep range fan on high
