I've got to say, this video actually does spell out some useful features on the Mini 2 without any clickbait nonsense. Just because some of them appear in the config interface doesn't mean DJI took the time to explain them in detail. This video DID flesh them out with real life scenarios where you'd want to use them. Excellent work! That's why I'm a subscriber.

      @mustanghuey89 2 роки тому +1

@@vanl.johnson8342 I believe that you just exit out of the the DJI FLY APP your drone will still be connected. Then just open your camera on your phone start recording, then start your drone by bringing both sticks in and down then take off by pushing the left stick up or whatever one you have programed for up and down. Once you have gotten all the footage with your phone camera just open back up the dji fly app and go into the your drone. Its pretty easy.

Appreciate the tips some of them I was already aware of but being able to disable payload mode during flight was one that I was not. I typically fly over 249g, (landing struts and anti-collision lights and depending on the scene I am shooting, prop guards) so having to be limited to 100ft altitude and 50ft distance was annoying for me. The aircraft is already FAA registered so legality is not an issue.

I knew it makes the drone stop whatever it's doing (quickshots, RTH, auto-landing, etc.) but I didn't know it also works as an emergency brake, can't wait to test it by flying straight into a helicopter on sport mode, I'm sure the pilot will have a proper laugh

Fantastic video, thanks. As a beginner with this very drone it's great to be aware of these addtional tips, wish I'd have been savvy/reactive enough on my 3rd test flight to press the pause button to save my drone from flying sideways into a nearby hedge (thankfully nothing worse) when trying to land at around 2ft high due to a random gust of wind, not sure if the pause button would have done much as it was out of my control but after watching your video example would definitely have been worth a shot. Oh well, you live and learn. Luckily nothng more than a minor confidence dent and a slightly marked propeller.

i know this was 6 months ago, but how are you liking your drone so far? I just got mine a few days ago and crashed it into some branches on a tree when it was in "attitude mode" (meaning it has no GPS signal at all AND is too high to make use of the downward facing sensors, so its just doing the best it can but its not stable).
It chipped a tiny piece off one of the back left propellers, it didnt seem to affect flight performance but I had spares so I replaced it nonetheless. The drone had some wood scuffs and dirt in a few spots, but overall it handled the impact well. Its good to note the drone didnt actually crash and stop flying, it "bounced" off the branches and got sent backwards, but I managed to recover.
Anyways, this drone is amazing in my opinion and I sincerely hope you like yors and have learned how to fly better! I dont live in an area with lots of open fields, or at least not a lot that wouldnt mind me flying a drone on them, so its a buit difficult for me. But I use the drone indoors, and its exceptional at that too, although I wish it had 360-degree obstacle sensing.
      Happy flying!

That VLC metadata tip is amazing! Thanks!
I'm a brand new pilot and this is my first drone other than a toy in the house. It's crazy to admit, but flying FPV freaks me out. :) This thing is easy to fly but judging the depth and position of objects on a phone screen is really difficult for me as a beginner. Also my own height against trees, light poles, etc. when the gimble is aimed anywhere other than zero. I'm practicing in my back yard, which is small, and has some good obstacles for practice. But I find I think I'm about to hit something when I'm not, and MUCH WORSE, think I'm clear of things when I'm not. An example of this is flying past the corner of my house, where I think I'm beyond the corner but I'm really not. Also becoming space-aware of objects above me and to the sides is tricky. To hopefully help with this I have ordered a clip that will allow me to use an iPad Mini instead of the iPhone 12 Pro. I hope it helps. I'm sure I'll get used to it with practice but it's nerve-wracking! :)

Thank you for all of your videos. I'm interested in learning to fly drones recreationally and was going to spend $1300 on the Air2S until seeing your videos. Now I feel comfortable trying the mini 2 and saving a lot of money!
How unfortunate I can't charge my android phone (Samsung) from the controller :-(
THANKS AGAIN for the great videos!!!!

Hey D, nice vid as always. Thanks for sharing. The phone charging I use on iOS but for some reason I have to switch it on every time. Wish they would make it auto charge when plugged in. 😀

Oh yes I know , a few versions back it would stay on but now it defaults to off, suppose it saves the RC battery not being on all the time - thanks for watching buddy

Another good vid and thank you for posting. I'm sure they are some that know the "secret settings" BUT that isn't the point, this vid is for the majority that don't know these settings....Many thanks again for posting a very informative vid.

The recording the drone while takeoff or landing is the feature I didn’t know existed. I do iphone videos and this is a game changer. Was wondering how to record my b-roll of the drone in flight. Thankyou

Awesome. My real phone does not fly the mini so I bought a used iPhone 8 and keep it with the controller. Problem was sending pics to my customers and my tether is not a usb C. Using the bluetooth to transfer the photos to my real phone to send off in a text is a massive time saver.

Great job as always I also noticed if you don't have phone charging enabled and you have map data enabled on the function button it will not work unless you have phone charging enabled

Most of this can also be done on the Mini 1. Except for the quicksync hd photos and faster speed transfer, btw 20MB/s is very respectable for speed.
