Plus this looks like something straight out of Cyberpunk which is dope. 🔥

Great video Not sure if you're still monitioring comments but I'm about to buy an M4. I loved the curved screen when I first saw it in an M2, and that was one of the reasons I wanted to get an M4. Since then, I've read all the forums and 9/10 people hate the new screens. The overwhelming consensus is it look ugly/stuck on (which I can somewhat agree with now) and the usuability of it isn't as good (e.g. physical buttons and configurability of the instrument cluster). I think the 7 looks tired and dated, and don't want to buy into something old, but I would never buy something expensive without reading the reviews, and they are so overwhelmingly "1 star". Like EVERYONE hates it, and they loved the 7. I'm torn between whether to get a new car or a 2022. Is there anything you miss about the iDrive 7 car? What, if anything , was better in that version? Is there any good reason to get the 7 instead of the 8? I prefer the integrated hood around the instrument cluster, the straight line of the ambient lighting on the door (I don't like new one that is curved on the door handle). I like the screen size of the new ones though. Google Maps looks amazing.
So I originally had an F87 M2 with the ID6 and now own the G80 with the ID8 and an X7 with the ID7 and personally I do enjoy the curved display and in the beginning sure it felt overwhelming but once you play with it and set it up it all becomes very logic. The argument that it will look dated I find irrelevant. The screen itself is very vibrant and I’m sure with updates the configuration can change. As for the ambient lighting I haven’t even noticed the difference between the lighting. Ultimately the people complaining are the ones that are stuck with a stale mentality that hate change or the ones that can’t afford the cars and want to complain to justify the reason on why they would never buy the cars. Oof. Tacked on displays and moving all the HVAC into the touchscreen or providing very little buttons seems to be a German trend (looking at you MK8 Golf). Hard pass.
BMW completely screwed up with this cockpit ……it took me to years to convince myself of buying this car because of the front fascia, finally when I decide to LCI came out with this ridiculous dash .🤦🏻♂️😃 …… terrible
The front grill took a bit of time to grow on me also. Darker colors makes the car look ridiculously aggressive. As for the lci interior. I took a gamble and canceled the MY22 allocation and grabbed the guaranteed pre order allocation for MY23. I have to say the curved display is not bad once you get in the seat and it does look more premium. Fortunately I’m able to see the differences from ID7 and ID8 since my wife has an x7 with ID7. I can’t help but prefer the new one.
Exterior I use to not like and it grew on me to where now I love it. The grill in darker colors isn’t as loud and darker colors give the car a wider stance compared to the lighter colors. After doing the break in service I honestly don’t feel like I have settled l. This thing is mental.
This new panel is ridiculous. I am not looking for a entertainment system but for a CAR. And I cannot change it, my M4 comp will be delivered with this sh.. and I am even being asked to pay an additional fore it! Is this company a kind of circus, as I honestly feel as a clown.
The car is exactly one year old now, and in Mai24 I put some new black Breyton GTX 20/21" wheels with summertime Yokos on it (oxidgrey II), looks fantastic! But I still feel the same about the panel. The panel just takes to much attention when driving as you cannot "feel" the buttons, but always need to look at the panel, find the app (from aprox. 40!), touch it, next button and so on to get to the function, instead of looking to the road. At 120mph on Germanys hw? Absolute no go! Funny... Thought headsup should keep your eyes on the road, and then they oblige you to constantly look sideways for any s..t. Nonsense. Not to mention the monthly updates, reseting your preset seat position, M1+2 setup, deleting or adding apps. So you basically got another ipad to configure continuously. Definitely a step back in driving experience 👎
And just like the iphone 3 all of this will be very outdated very quickly. There is a reason companies like Pagani and koenigsegg went full analog again. Front grill was already a total fail now this...the new m2... what in the fuck is going on at bmw. Fail after fail.
I don’t really think it will look outdated. Once in the seat it doesn’t look out of place and things tend to blend in. Just hope what you are stating doesn’t happen!

@@HMDriven i believe you, I've driven IX and it very nice TBH, but after F8x generation i can't get over the separate cluster and infotainment screen.
and when you are driving fast on track its much easier to focus when you have small divided area to look at.
That's just me.
@@skidhvh I do like how the track M mode shits off the infotainment screen and just leaved the cluster on. find it to be less distracting.
I’m sorry but that screen looks hideous. We purposely bought a 2023 430i convertible, because we couldn’t stand the screens in the new 24s.
Got to buy what best fits you. After a year of ownership I actually love it!
Bro English skills sind da dachte du bist Amerikaner
Definitely 🇺🇸 in 🇩🇪
Oof. Tacked on displays and moving all the HVAC into the touchscreen or providing very little buttons seems to be a German trend (looking at you MK8 Golf). Hard pass.
Well thats the future of cars for you bud
Idk man. I just really hate this new design. Now I would need to settle on interior and exterior design.
How do you feel about it now that you have had the car for a while?
@@HMDriven trust me man pick up an old cell phone or old tv tablet etc. Tech ages. This is just a cheap easy route. You get a supplier for the screen program it to do fancy light shows and boom youre in business. The dummies all flock while its the latest and greatest. Keep it simple analog + manual trans + subtle clean lines inside and out. This thing will be a forgotten M sadly at this rate. Performance is top notch and i love the seats but its def a gen of m3/4 thatll ill be skipping. Sad they had an amazing run with e30 e36 e46 e92 f82. Only owned the last 3 which i couldve had the first 2 but e36 in north America was crap unless you got the euro spec and e30 was just too expensive.
The screens and graphics of cluster are ugly.
Definitely not my taste.
It is definitely a hit or a miss. With me I was undecided and now that I been driving the car I really like it!
@@HMDriven congratulations! Im glad you like it. I’m still an old fashion when it comes to dashboard but I think it’s the future. At least we are still not forced to drive electric cars.
@@Racedoc I hope the electric car becoming mandatory fades away! They are ok but have 0 want to have one.
Hahaha, einfach nen schmales Tablett rangespaxt😂😂😂. Da gehören Analog Drehzahlmesser und Tacho rein und nicht so ein Mist.
The UI is ugly to me.
Looks cheap
Would have to disagree. This interior looks way better than the F87 and all the previous cars I have owned. I also have an X7 and I been liking the ID8 better than the ID7.
I literally just took delivery of my '22 M4CX. Wow, im glad I didnt get this display, looks absolutely dreadful.
Well thats your opinion 😂😂
It’s really not that bad. I really like it now that I got use to it.
