To listen to Herr Moll sing is like being invited to be part of the happiest day of his life ... not only is he the best, but his humility and friendliness and joy just comes out to meet you and carries you entirely away!

Kurt Moll sings with three voices. His high notes have nothing to do with his deep. I know him since the begin of his career in Wuppertal in the 60ths of the last century.

Une merveille, Kurt Moll: I hadn't seen this before. RIP Maestro...
Kurt Moll's contra Bb was incredible at 4:04- 4:05.
That's the lowest I've ever heard him go....dang!

One of the true great basses ever undoubtedly
It's too bad Moll didn't get to more comedy, because he's so good at it!
Kurt Moll, whom I know best since his early days in Wuppertal in the 60th of the last century, before he went to Hamburg, did a lot of buffo-operas.
His Osmin and Ochs at the Met were wonderful performances. He also sang Bartolo in Nozze di Figaro there as well.
4:16 Bassoons play the last note, and Moll thanks them! Ps. Why didn't Moll finish off the descent himself?
what did he said?

that's actually how it's written in the notes, probably for comedic effect. The bass is supposed to open his mouth wide

Pity he skips one bar and butchers the Allegro Molto part at the end... Chapeau to the conductor for holding his nerve!
That ''joke'' is part of the score; if u listen to other recordings u'll see it's part of the score

I'm not sure this is intended. Im quite sure he didn't mean to do this. In any case, in the music sheets I have, it is not written like this
Gottlob Frick and Leo Schützendorf also did that joke.
