Let’s be emphatically apophatic about philosophy
There is no sound more sinister -- at least on our shared, terrestrial plane-- than the smug, knowing laughter of a pack of analytic philosophers. Truly chilling.
Well not sure about sinister but it’s hard not to notice how amusing Hilary found the development of
his arguments -particularly the recursive move. I believe we get the word ‘hilarious’ from him.
I think this comment says more about you than philosophers
“This is not praise”. A haunting, disrespectful comment.
Putnam on the Ritz
can someone recommend a book or paper by Putnam on religion/theology etc?
Dude sounds like Jeff Goldblum if he were teaching a class
Hey world
I enjoyed this talk, but it was abstruse.
God cannot be evaluated by any human propositions. God cannot be wise or not wise, merciful or cruel, etc., as we aren't able to clearly conceive the concept of god, as his nature remains abstract to us. We must admit that the human comprehension is extremely limited no matter how we try to develop it either through religion, philosophy or other means. Either you believe with no logical application or otherwise. But this "otherwise" is still rooted in belief.
“God cannot be evaluated by any human propositions” is a human proposition evaluating God.
@@kiDchemical Yep, a vicious circle. We are limited.
I was looking forward to this video and turned it off party way through. The man was clearly partisan in his philosophy and seemed to direct hate toward other faith traditions.
god is anything but good
Theology, yuk.
Yeah, it depends on ? ( Knowledge as in the most respected aspect must be especially when in it comes to ( religion) in a secureler mode with evidence to chut the bigots one for all... ? As I see and think
grow up
@bankafouf Once you indulge in it, you're mired in a priori logic chopping, that nonsense on stilts. Either that, or consulting with ancient text for the final word.
