Just because she found peace in the light dose not me she is a jedi. And on top of that I dont think her view on the jedi has changed. They lost their way, she saw that. She acted poorly and paid for it. So I doubt she would want to be a jedi again. Its not like the Jedi have exclusive rights to the light side of the force.

If she had been a true Jedi, she would have told Lyn "no" originally, or let the other Jedi kill her in training (or for that matter tried to flee as well), or attempted to save the civilians from being killed. She died as a recluse, attempting to attone for her failings by providing healing/advice/guidance to those she deemed willing to meet. She was no Jedi.

@@Chrisyork21 She explicitly reclaimed her Jedi identity, in her own words. And she always believed in who the Jedi were meant to be. She lost her way because she was disillusioned by what the Jedi had become during TCW. She thought she could force them to see the error of their ways and return to what they once were, and took it too far. Watching Lynn kill innocents made her realize what she had become and that her actions went against everything she believed in. Which is why she spent the rest of her life atoning. She was absolutely a true Jedi in the end. @robertdickson9319 She was less of a recluse than Yoda, and not only returned to the light, but inspired another to return because she never lost hope. That's the definition of a Jedi. Boiling who she is down to just her worst moments goes against the entire philosophy of the light side, the Jedi, and Star Wars.

Here are my thoughts on the argument of the gut shot death or lack thereof. Maul, the Grand Inquisitor, and Reva, were fueled by anger, and revenge which drove their desire to live. Qui-Gon was at peace, without fear and knew that he would live in the force. He didn't need to fight anymore and welcomed the journey.
Is this true, probably not, but it helps me justify my acceptance of what is often confusing or frustrating.

After talking with many people, I get the impression that literally half of the fandom doesn't think that Barriss died because of Force Heal. They didn't show us the real visible answer: Lyn's farewell to Barriss or funeral, nor did they show us the healing of that wound.
I'll allow myself to copy a quote from Wookieepedia: "Promising to save her, Rakish (Lyn) held her injured friend, and only then was she able to exit, carrying her body outside." - I'm not saying she survived, just that even Wookieepedia doesn't know if it's death.
So if that's true and she died, then it's a very very weak death scene, if not then it's a disorienting ending.
Additionally that character returns after 11 years just to die? Filoni talked for years about plans for Barriss, if it was only those 3 shorts and her death, they could have made a comic or done nothing because it's a total waste of her potential. Now even if Barriss appears in events before Episode 6, she'll have permanent plot armor. Unless she survived.
Then it would be interesting because this character has a lot to offer.
Working with Ahsoka and rebuilding trust (Meybe even Ahsoka seson 2)
Maybe a student and creating her legacy
    Continuing Lyn's redemption
Potential references to Luminara, maybe even learning how to become one with the Force
    Hidden Path
And these are just a few options. Her first arc is over but that is only a summary of her morality. Barriss has much more to offer.

Even within the existing content, there are things like Nightsisters. The old EU also had various Force sects.
Jedi and Sith are two specific creeds with specific philosophies regarding the light and dark sides, specific behaviors/rituals/rules, etc. There are other light side users, for example, that are not 'Jedi'. There are dark siders who are not Sith. But that's also part of why I hate the whole 'Grey Jedi' thing because by definition, Jedi reject the Dark side. You might still be a Force user on the side of good, overall, but you're not a 'Jedi'.
It might even be argued there can be Force users who use the Dark side who are good guys but the implication is that it's quite rare because it's naturally addictive/corruptive. I've always viewed it as a kind of One Ring scenario. You might be able to stave it off at first but in the end it will throw you out of balance unless you're incredibly exceptional (there are examples of characters like that in the old EU, and there are also some 'good' Nightsisters even in the current canon).

@@zacharyjackson1829 Baris shouldn't have had the opportunity to do that! I think Vader would have realistically snapped her neck for what she did to Ahsoka. Heck he snaps necks in Kenobi just to draw him out. In a way that could have been severing one of the last ties to his feelings for his Padawan

@thomas216h what should or shouldn't have happened is pointless to argue over. The reality is this is the story we got and the story Dave Feloni wanted to tell. You either can accept that or sit and stew over what you wanted, while missing the nice story in front of you.
Nobody else but barris is capable of having the story she did. She is the first jedi to call out the order for their fall from grace due to the war and while her actions that followed certainly were not savory, it was ultimately rooted in what her and Ahsoka fight for; a truly balanced relationship with the force.
Andor literally came out last year and gives you what you want, an insight to the Empire. While I wished they would put more effort into making the Empire more gray than black, you can't say they've neglected telling the Empire's stories.

To me this was the most disappointing episode. The overall idea of Bariss' arc was good - that she thought the Inquisitors were something that they weren't and she decided to leave and go a different way. But I honestly wasn't sure they stuck the landing with this episode; she wound up a little too similar to Ahsoka/Kenobi and every other Jedi that survived Order 66. Think it was a missed opportunity to tell a different story that isn't just pure redemption.

I liked the episode, but I think they missed the opportunity to make it great and important within in the universe.
I think I would've liked it more to see Barriss become a real Inquisitor, she was corrupted by the dark side, she believed the Jedi to be evil and the force responsible for the war, so Order 66 and the the Empire would've been a success for her. Inquisitors could've teached her how they have to find the lasting memebers of thew Jedi and kill them by all means necessary so they can't ignite another brutal war and during that Barris could've lost herself fully on that dark path.
Eventually she would've met Ahsoka and that's where we could've seen a learning moment for Ahsoka, maybe Ahsoka was still angry at Barriss for framing her and therefore changing her life. Through that fight with an old friend she could've learned that Barriss's actions weren't the cause for Ahsoka not being there for Anakin but her own decison. Ahsoka could've learned something about forgivness and therefore Barriss could've learned about forgiving herself for betraying her old friend, maybe Ahsoka helped Barriss to get rid of her dark side and Barriss could've been someone in Ahsoka season 2, not a Jedi Master as Ahsoka is (I now "I'm no Jedi" but let's be real, Ahsoka is the ideal Jedi master) but really between the 2 sides and just a friend from the old days when Ahsoka needs one.
It would've given us a truly savage story of a beloved character who fell as deep into the dark side as possible (losing limbs, breathing machine, whatever kidn of robotics on her body), an important part of Ahsoka's story and a kind of successful mirroring of Anakins story and a reason why Ahsoka still believes in her old master because she saw it working.
But maybe that's complete bs and everybody likes the actual episode more haha

I won't lie...I thought the barris stuff was definitely the weakest they've put out in a while.

I respect y'all's opinions as I always have, but personally, I was disappointed in this storyline. There were 2 missed confrontations: one with Vader, and one with Ahsoka. Maybe they'll do the latter one later (hopefully), but considering how involved Anakin was in the Ahsoka trail, I was expecting at least a little more tension between the two. This story deserved more than a quick 3-episode arc imo.
Also, and more importantly, they mentioned The Traveller, and NO ONE made a Jester/Mighty NEIN reference?!?! Disappointing!!! 🤣🤣🤣

I'm sure it's not intentional but you guys have both refered to the non-binary Jedi and Morph in X-Men as he/him instead of they/them. Just something to keep in mind. Especially with Morph. Even when the other characters very clearly use they, Adam in particular immediately says he. Again, no biggie, but something to work on.

I think they leave it somewhat open ended in case they want to use them again. Right now I'm going with Bariss jedi sacrificed herself to save Lynn
