I started playing the flute almost 3 years ago but stopped in late 2019 due to the absence of a music teacher. I completely forgot how to play so I'm trying to get back. Thank you, this helped me so much!
I hate long notes!! I really hate them!! I'm always having problems with my embouchure, but if you say that we just need 10 minutes... I will take your precious advice, thank you!!!
Thank you so much for the help! I went from 3rd chair to 1st chair in my band class in less than a month. This very was a huge help and I couldn’t be more thankful! Thank you! 😊
You are beautiful, you play the most beautiful instrument, and this video was useful. Thank God for creating you, and thank you for creating this video! :)
I try to fit 30 minutes of practice on my own. I finally found a student at my university that’s willing to teach me ( I will be paying them for lessons ). I’m so so nervous because I had a band director in the past that was really mean to me and his comments have been engraved into my head. I don’t suck I just need a willing dedicated and patient teacher who’s willing to work with me.
This is nice; thank you. I saw another tip, which I thought was quite profound- deliberately make our tone airier/worse. This somehow facilitates us correcting it and reducing the airiness for a more efficient sound!
I started flute like yesterday in my band class (7th grade) and I chose flute because it’s so elegant! I don’t know how to use music yet but the first thing I’m trying to do is learn how to blow in it correctly
This was very helpful! I’m just a complete beginner that started as a clarinet player so I have trouble with arm pain and embouchure sometimes but I never realized a part of my problem with getting an airy sound was listening to myself. Tysm ♥️
I'll definitely add this to my practice. I'm still going back through your videos (because 1. I only just found your channel and 2. I only started practicing flute again seriously a couple weeks ago after neglecting it for several, several years) but if you don't already have a video on this, could you do a vid on tips for practicing volume? I feel like in order to get a clear sounding note, I have to play it at forte. There is no mf or p or ppp or anything, just f. Thank you for your advice and all your content!
im very reserved to the point i dont feel comfortable playing out loud.. i live in a basement apartment kinda deal with in my moms home.. anyway, i basically have been practicing for years with my fingers and purposefully lacking the airflow to produce a note.. ive done so here and there but i must be alone and trying to not think about neighbors. i started playing like 10 years ago (thats crazy) in a school band.. anyway due to my stupid anxiety and fear of being heard i have basically not improved where it counts: the sound. i think im going to attempt to overcome it, i want to get good because i love the flute. i want to have confidence in my playing.. my mom's husband bought a drum set so im guessing i wont feel so bad about making noise too lool.
Julita Ksenia you might not see that much change in just two days but it’s still actually a great warm up to do and a great way to get your air flow going :) good luck for your competition! ❤️❤️❤️
Great exercise, but please change the title from "How to IMMEDIATELY..." to "How to CONSISTENTLY..." or "How to PERMANENTLY...", because, as you explain in the video, this is an exercise that you need to practice every day. It's not a cheap trick or a fad, it's a genuine good exercise for gradual, consistent and permanent improvement.

Flutecookies Thank you so much \(^o^ )/
I’m quite an experienced flute player but these tips greatly helped thanks!
Thank you so much really ❤️
Thanks for the video!🙂May I ask what flute you play?
Would love to know techniques for the upper register notes as the mouth is less open so they’re much more difficult to play well.

You should acknowledge trevor wye..this is his practice...
Not necessarily, this is a common practice for many wind instruments.
