Very cool. I have played in rock bands and have always been a hack. Never played any finger picking and when I found this I was pretty floored like I'll never be able to do that! Well, something took over me and I sat and watched this at half speed and figured it out. A whole new world of playing. Thanks a lot man.
@@Darrenmccarthymusica May I aks how you learned fingerstyle? I have played for years but always with a pick, and just now starting to practice fingerstyle.
I think they get a bad rap because people have only played really cheap ones. It seems like places like Guitar Center only carry higher-end Martins, Taylors, and Gibsons because they have the name recognition, and some people associate Yamaha with motorcycles haha.
That's true, but if you compare any guitar in the same price range as a cheaper Yamaha, such as the Yamaha F-310, a very popular beginners guitar, you will find that even those Yamaha's are outstanding for their price! Oh and yes some people associate them with their motorcycles (which have a great reputation) or even with keyboards more so than guitars, The history behind the company is actually very interesting! ua-cam.com/video/fKGu54YKkSE/v-deo.html
Before some really angry person responds to you, I'll let you know that Jimmy Page based much of his DADGAD compositions (dangerous word for some folks) on this much older song.
@@pkornmeyer thanks for saying that mate ,it makes me angry when someone compares anything to Jimmy plage,,he wrote nothing,,but he stole everything and claimed it,,
@@briandunstan3503 Indeed he did. Led Zepplin borrowed most of their catalogue from American black blues. I think it's pretty cool - minus Robert Plants silly moaning all over the songs.

Your welcome! glad you got some inspiration from this! :)
Beautiful. Thank you!
Very cool, brings back memories of the Fairport Convention Cropredy festival, which is never a bad thing.
Superb interpretation, wonderfully expressive performance! The change of gear at 1:40 is magnificent. Many thanks for this. M.D.P.
Got to agree, that Yamaha sounds wonderful. Your arrangement reminds me a little of the way Bert Jansch sang it. Well done!
Thank you Robbie, Bert Jansch is in fact my favourite guitarist, massively influential to me!

You bring such soul to this melody. Love how you use the low strings to add depth. Wonderful playing. Thank you for sharing!
I like this arrangement and tuning better than most versions. Great, man.
Would you have a tab for this that you'd be willing to share. Beautiful
Awesome playing!! And a beautiful guitar!!
Great sound - love it ❤️
Davy Graham was a big idol for Rory Gallagher and Led Zeppelin! (ZEP covered that!)
Very skilled 👏👏 and : You've got the feeling!
Thank you!
Your own arrangement? It’s amazing!!! So much talent 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Nice one buddy, I'm searching youtube for a tutorial on the song & happy I got distracted for a few minutes. We'll played, now back to the the hunt ✌️
Just beautiful
Great sound, gracias
A very nice rendition.
Really nice man, that guitar sounds absolutely huge.
3 root tones and 2 fifths in DADGAD. Fred 2 on 3rd string gives you 3 of each :)
I like the rythm change... nice work ☺gqj

Absolutely amazing ! would you ever consider doing a tutorial for this ?
Tree men does
What guitar is this your playing.. Lovely sound from it.??
Great rendition also....
Hi Noel, thanks! The guitar is a Yamaha FG750s, sycamore back and sides, 12 gauge strings! :)
What's the traditional song's name? White Summer must have been based on this one.
This is absolutely incredible. What guitar is that, and what strings do you have on there?
mattlawson714 Thank you! I'm playing a Yamaha FG750S with 12-54 Martin strings!
Nice! Those Yamahas seem to be great for this style of playing.
Yup, this is a very open and big sounding guitar! Sitka spruce top and sycamore back and sides! Yamaha's are my favourite, very underrated guitars!

Is it based on Black Mountain Side/White Summer?
