- Summarizing our van life journey this far! There has been some highs and lows during this time, let's take a look at how things have turned out and how we got to where we are now. Covering the entire process of renovating, traveling, struggling and enjoying time in our old, nostalgic Vanagon camper. So far, we have seen big parts of Europe and a lot of our home country Norway. Hopefully the engine conversion will be done soon and we'll take one more trips, some winter camping would be high up on the list!😊

It always takes longer than expected and costs more than it should I lost a lot of time waiting on parts, then they show up and then, the next item, I need to order something else I did not foresee. Second engine was an automatic, a day, a week to swap right ? It took me like a month ? 2 ? 3? I don't remember. We are learning..which is slow and can be painful....it took me 22 weeks to prep it for paint but as of this week, it is painted ! Yea ...the punch list helps show progress, else we would give up. I enjoy the series and the chance to see Norway....and still wonder where those shoes floated off to...

Hey! My boyfriend and I bought a Volkswagen T3 in Juli this year and since then I've come back to your van build series more than 4 times I think. It just really inspires me and gives me the power to go on, even when it doesn't seem like were making any progress. You guys have inspired as so much, that we now started our own youtube channel and we hope to do the same for other people as you did for us. It’s a joy to here from you both again. I always enjoy following other Westy owners and seeing how they choose to use their vans. I am an the major investor (owner) of an 86 westfalia. I have also it seems spent as much time under it as in it. I installed an Bostig upgrade and have not regretted it at all. Great fun watching your adventures! We had a 1980 T3 Westy, purchased in the US and brought to Norge in 1990. It died of rust, unfortunately, in the mid-90s. It was very sad to see it go and we’ve missed the freedom of the open road. But we’re back in business now with a «new-ish» T5 California and will be using your travelogue as an inspiration for future tours. Looking forward to following your experiences with Truck Norris. Perhaps Bob the Bus and TN will cross paths in the near future.

With all that you've gone through, we realize it's a great advantage to have mechanical skills, so that labor costs have been non-existent with our own Westfalia! This despite replacing the engine with one obtained at very low cost from a person doing a Subaru engine conversion. You can check out the money-saving details on our channel.

Today my t3's 1.6d engine started to make metal hit noise at high revs. But after some time on the road the issue is gone.
I hope it will not be a big problem :) But anyway, looking how you are changing your engine, that's inspires me, and i'm not afraid to change my as well ;)

Great to see your story in a few minutes. Me and my wife we are working on restoration old Mercedes Benz 208d from 1993. It is really time and money consuming and I think about to sell it even before we hit the road. I did not expect such a complication. But your video gave me a hope that our investment may have a chance to make our adventure and lifes much better. :)

Hello, having retired last year, finally gave me the funds to get my t25 fully restored, you are right it's a big commitment, for the money maybe I could of got a bigger motorhome, but I've always done my travels in these t25's, for better or worse I'm sticking with them and can't wait to get her back.

Great video. It looks like you had the 1.6L Diesel engine originally? I hope the Volvo engine installation works well. I’m watching for the progress you are making on the new engine. My 2.1 has 292,000 miles currently.

Thank you for this year and all trips spending together. I have the same engine 1.6 TD and I was so happy making him run my T3 with a new turbo seply. Now it looks it is broken and tomorrow I will get a reason.

Our pleasure, thanks for watching the videos! :) Oh, fingers crossed it's okay. Our engine started to get worn out, no compression left and I think it was the right time to do something about it. We found a perfect 1.9 AAZ engine and have skilled friends who could help out, so we decided to do it after the summer season was over. Good luck with your engine :)

I've looking for my perfect van for a while. I've had vans with and without bathrooms, how do you guys survive without a place to 💩 ?
No problem for us, you always pass a gas station, restaurant, shopping center etc. We’ve used a RV with toilet and we honestly prefer not to have one onboard 😄
