- 15 year old Max and spoopy A.I. murder-cube IC-0n take on the shadow government. Basically, imagine you're running a 110° fever after watching too much anime and this is hell.
Episode 2
A strange girl, Kirie, recalls a fragmented and nightmarish memory - bringing into question the true nature of IC-0n and these A.I. "cubes" in general. Just what was tucked away in that mountain facility, what became of it, and what is Kirie's relationship to Max in the present day? Meanwhile, Max and IC-0n continue their steady trek forward . . . though it seems more than one of them is hiding something.
About The Series:
Just an exercise in storyboarding practice. There are not currently any plans to fully animate this series to the level of, say, the CliffSide pilot. Any future installments of the series will be rough black and white boards timed out with scratch VO and SFX as seen here. I'm just having fun making wacky cartoon content even when I can't spare the time to fully animate episodes.

Which wouldn’t be so bad since it means the pilots are still alive. The problem would be getting IC-On to change them back to normal. It wouldn’t surprise me if she kept them locked up in some kind of conscious purgatory, where they can’t see or feel anything but they know they are still alive. She’d do something like that.

personal theory as for why the vending machine says that is that IC-0N has some sort of hivemind (as hinted at in the desk scribbles of part 3) However Kirie somehow escaped and they're now trying to get her back

7:09 Something I find funny about this moment is that IC-0n doesn't *have* a user manual. It's revealed in episode three that the administrator story is bullshit. Also worth noting that despite the fact that she believes she can't harm Max due to him claiming to be her administrator, she very much has, when she slammed him into the dirt just moments before this.

To be completely honest, for me this is just as engaging and entertaining as a fully animated episode.
I agree, while it looking good is nice, i prefer just seeing a good story, I'd be a fan of this story concept even if it was a comic

In all honesty even incomplete animation can still be absurdly good if the story is properly compelling to the auduence
@@Casual117 I think the girl is another character that will come into play soon and she'll be trying to hunt down the guy as he seems to be the only one who's yet to be marked with an X on the photos of the new girl. She also seems to have a technology similar to what Icon has (They are both composed of various cubes that can take more complex shapes).
@@Yahaire5 Huh, that's a really interesting interpretation. I actually thought that the girl and Icon were the same person, and she was turned into Icon after the cube technology attacked her and changed her body into cubes. And then when she woke up, that wasn't just a dream, but it was a memory. And when she was in the mansion, that was all actually in Icon's head, because they are kind of like two entities living in the same place. But those are just my thoughts. :P Did that even make sense? XD

Ok, ok, I just noticed that when Kirie orders a snack, the vending machine flashed "Welcome Kirie" with lets-be-honest IC-0n's face, "Your flesh will be reformed anew", "We'll peel apart your soul", and "Come back to us Kirie" twice. Is Kirie a prototype of sorts of IC-0n who somehow managed to escape? Im the first episode IC-on mentioned future designs of her, and labeled herself as the first. Who's to say there weren't alpha and beta versions already out, running around, and causing chaos. How many IC-on...s are there???
Someone who has more time and is willing to start theorizing please take this.
And yes I did step through each frame at 0.25 speed.
Edit: When her eyes turn into box-ed X-s, is that IC-on, or some prototype taking over? The POV of sorts of her vision showed what could only be unstable/incomplete vision, but she bled, and has (or had) bones? What is Kirie!?!?!?!?!?!? Also IC-on's face.
Also I don't think this is a dream, rather a memory. She has a photo labeled "Class of 2038". indicating she has lived a normal human life at some point.

My assumption, based on what we see, is that Kirie *was* human at one point, but during the scene where she has contact with a cube, I believe that what happened was that the cube sort of integrated itself into her rather than assimilating her, and the eyes changing is when she became a fully fledged Internecion Cube. Some people might think that she was always a cube though, due to how faces show all these errors, like she was a machine observing them, but I moreso believe that they're errors *remembering* them.
Also, tangentially related, I think that her demon cat was an attempt to synthesize a cat that failed, though not catastrophically like IC-0n's egg. This failure was still functional, just not *complete*
I don’t think it was necessarily IC-0n who was responsible for Kirie being mutated/corrupted, I think it was more likely one of or maybe even a few of IC-0n’s many iterations, there isn’t a lot of solid evidence but we did see that IC-01n all the way up to IC-40n where being contained by the Biowaste Management Inc. (which is likely a cover title used by a much more nefarious organization… wow sounded a lot like Kofi there, sheesh. Anyway) thanks to IC-313n’s appearance in episode 3 we know there are at LEAST 313 iterations of IC-0n that have been made by that point and we can imagine that pretty much all of them are either laying low, dead, or working for the government and maybe even BMI (Biowaste Management Inc.) if there still around anymore. I imagine whatever event also caused Kirie to become corrupted is likely also the same reason all the iterations where either killed or able to escape. I’m also convinced that there where definitely more iterations created after this event as well but how, by who, and how many is well… at this moment, impossible to know for sure. If the main characters ever return the facility hidden within the Eisenhower-Johnson tunnel (which they might do at some point to try and figure out the origin of IC-0n) they may find out that the facility has long since fallen into disarray likely destroyed and abandoned after the event we saw in this episode and was probably shittily covered up by the government later after they found out about it.

The part where Icon questioned if he would hurt him, and then his eyes faded into his glasses. Is highly disturbing, because it shows that he’s willing enough to hurt/kill Icon for his research, or objective.

The question did make his eyebrows drop (and he frowns) before getting fully obscured by the glare on his goggles, possibly because of the implication of her trusting any admin so strongly, so she can't act against the government without him, or because he suddenly feels bad about his own intentions/opinions of her? Hell if I know
My point is he seems surprised by the question and saddened before he looks down, don't think there's too much to worry about (hopefully)

She could be exploiting a loophole as it's the explosive compound is what's going to harm him, not her. Or she was lying about the explosives to try to force him to help her. Or she could've harmed him earlier when she injected him, but now she can't since she rebooted in safe mode.

@@Toasteeei in the just released ep3 it's confirmed that the whole administrator thing was made up. So she can actually hurt him, but she doesn't know that. Or she is pretending not to know, so she can take advantage of Max somehow.

Okay, considering what that means, along with Ic-0n’s bizarre cube heart, I think the interconnection cubes are made by taking the flesh of a person and reforming it into a new body. Kirie narrowly survived this happening to her, which I’m guessing has left such an impact on her psyche she’s even obsessed with the cube. In the last episode Ic-0n mentioned newer models of herself, and pair that with the mysterious elongated skeleton that was behind Kirie, it could be possible this facility is using inhumane experimentation to create these devices.
The company seems to be called refinoc biowaste management inc so they likely have some sort of thing with compacting flesh into cubes. Mabye the souls of everything that gets crushed into a cube and likely stored in some sort of pixel stack box or somthing, sort of became angry and evil......mabye some sort of ai corruption stuff? Mabye there is evil experiments going on but take my thoughts into consideration. They really potentially do somthing with biomatter to the cubes

And if you have had multiple victims [3:51] and only one prototype, you may need new meat for a new body from time to time. Think about it, what we saw behind Kirie was an organic skeleton, it may have been his previous victim, and he came for Kirie as she ran out of corpse meat. (If I had misspellings correct me, I understand English very well but I find it difficult to speak it since my language is Spanish)

Internecion Cube might be one of my favorite properties that never was. It's got a little Half-Life/Portal vibe, some uncomfortable, casual body horror, and a general air of uneasiness. Bits of it almost feel like Silent Hill. And then it abruptly shifts into cringe UwU, which again abruptly shifts into sincere vulnerability. There's a dark, grimy, horror undercurrent to all of this that I *love*. And a rawness here that isn't *quite* present in the other works. I guess what I'm saying is the shy child frantically trying to remove the mystery nano-machines sticking to her hands and pealing all the flesh off her bones is something that stuck with me.

Also, another small, but potentially meaningful detail: the labels on the items in Kirie's freezer refer to parts of human organs.
If you're on desktop, you can frame-by-frame through a video by repeatedly pressing the > or < keys (for forwards and backwards, respectively).
A very nice episode! You really seem to downplay it in the description, but you're getting a lot of mileage out of a "rough black and white storyboard". Looking forward to more, if you're looking to do more.
Seem lots of lore and theory were going this Kiria Boins is IC-On that came from Refinoc BioWaste Inc owned Secret Government before Incidents.
Yes technically that IC-On Kiria eats freeze Foods as human organs similar to IC-On eat two pilots in part 1.

God damnit I can’t get over how great you create the atmosphere of these. It’s the silent fear of these animatics that make them so amazing. Instead of dialog you let the unsettling images and thoughts scare the viewer. The fact that this is an animatic and not a full blown animation baffles me. This is amazing!

The shadowy people are similar to murder drones…. And cliff side, let’s split up, AND this series is similar to murder drones. So he must’ve had an idea to make a series with robots and have some parts that reference other series.
All of those story's come from his old channel ( scary story time with liam also known as SSTWL ) ( his oldest channel we know of ) they come from the main series "Design" that is found on there.
