- This week Ian went hands on with Steep and discovered 2 stupid things to do in the game that you’re really not supposed to. Oh, and 1 incredibly stupid thing that you are supposed to do. so, if you want to check out some brand new Steep PS4 gameplay, you've come to the right place. Unless you wanted to see actual, proper Steep gameplay and not someone crashing lots or earning the Shaked by the Bell achievement. If that's the case, apologies in advance.

It's because of the way the game handles K.O.'s.
Since he hit the "fail" button (up on D-pad for controllers) he took minimal damage needed to fall, and is unable to take more damage, thus cannot K.O. This only happens if you hit the fail button. If you fall during a race and continue to take damage, you can K.O. Happened to me a ton during a derby race.
But, since he was flying full speed and not currently in ragdoll "fail" mode, when he crashed into the tower, he K.O.'d. If you fly into the ground from the hot air balloon, you will K.O.
You just can't K.O. after getting knocked down with the fail button.
You're going at a very high speed when properly wingsuiting. Meanwhile, a freefall is slower and the character felt on a fairly steep slope, which dramatically decreases the force of impact.
Here you have 3 very very high freefalls survived by people:
· During a commercial flight over the Amazon river area of Brazil, the plane got incredibly fucked up and broke into pieces. A young girl made it to the ground alive while still being strapped to her seat and survived for almost 2 weeks until she was found by some locals. After the crash she went down the river trying to find some form of civilization until she did.
· During World War 2 the plane of some German pilot was destroyed over France and he ejected himself. He started freefalling and was going to land on some town but somehow crashlanded into the crystal ceiling of the train station. The glass slowed him down enough and he survived. He then was shown around the area as the guy who was shot down, freefell and survived.
· Also during World War 2 some big allied plane (British or American, can't remember) was shot while flying over the Alps during Fall. Since the plane was on fire the pilot was fairly sure he was going to die either asphyxiated or by crashing into the ground so he decided to bail out and kill himself without the whole intoxication thingy or without having to fly a plane while being almost dead. The mountains were full of fresh snow so when he crashlanded on to a big snow bank he survived.
***** Just rewatched the video and the slope isn't steep at all. The snow is also quite shallow/hard as shown by the small dent where the character landed. You could also hear a crunch of bones breaking upon impact. The character also landed head first but with their chin on their chest meaning that the bones which would have broken would have been the upper spine and possibly the skull. This would certainly mean paralysis, if not death. There is no walking away from either of those.
As for the bell, the character is travelling at high speed into it and it barely moves, if at all. This would shatter the skull, neck and spine and cause death, not loss of consciousness.
Your 3 examples, while amazing, are all seemingly flukes. The girl was in a seat which is more than likely padded which would absorb some of the impact, add on to that the fact that younger people tend to be overly strong and tough in proportion to their size and workout routines. You also never mentioned where she landed. She may have landed in water which, given she entered at the right angle, would have negated a lot of the impact. These things put together are enough to save anybody's life. As you said, the Nazi pilot went through a crystal roof which would have drastically negated the impact. The same goes for the allied pilot. He landed in a big pile of soft snow which would have negated a large amount of the impact force. Also, aren't ejector seats fitted with parachutes? Those would drastically reduce both the speed of descent and the impact force and would mean that the fall is no longer considered a free fall.
Try to snowboard/ski off of a wing suit drop.
i did this in the beta. you can spin like 50 times before you land. pretty epic actually.
Soran Is On Yeah, I did it off of a shorter one, but it was just high enough to gain max speed instantly when I hit the ground. I proceeded to snowboard down the whole mountain in epic style XD.
I cratered every time. couldn't land at a steep enough angle to not get KO'd

Me too I used to play LBB 1 and LBP 2 so much but then LBP 3 came out and I didnt like it as much and I stopped playing.

"Experience exactly what it feel like to free fall from a hot air balloon"... Umm pretty sure this might be slightly different to how it feels in real life.
You also shouldn't buy helicopter tickets and use them outside of the beta, some places work if you close to the border of the game then if you to far away it won't let you move.
Proper ragdol and silly fall physics. Hours of fun :)

How do you take yourself out of flight mode with the wing suit
Bit chilly in your study? Gloves and scarf or was that just to tie in with the game?
get on top of the hot air balloon using the rocket powered wingsuit then go off with any sport
What the music called in the video
You can also buy a helicopter ticket to stand on top of the balloon
With the Rocket Wingsuit in the Extreme Pack, you can also land on the hot air ballons by launching off of one, then flying above it and pulling the parachute before going directly over top. Both methods are fun though. :D
In the beta there was a glitch where you could snowboard and ski from the air balloon
you still can lol just use helicopter tickets to fast travel on top of it
they should add a vr mode in the future.
edit: nvm they actually confirmed a vr mode. lol

Poserboii I'm sure they'll make the camera much more stable in VR mode. Since it's meant to resemble a GoPro it'll look like that. They want you to take in the pretty atmosphere, produce fear from the heights, adrenaline from going down, etc. I wouldn't worry lol.

When you're freefalling you are experiencing a whopping amount of exactly 1G of acceleration...

If you angle it correctly in mountain view there is a way to spawn on top of an air balloon and you can snowboard of it.
I think that's something your not suppose to do.

There's no ice ingame that is covered by snow, so why would there be snow?
Also, yeah, it's the alps, I imagine it's pretty dead during winter except for the athletes there. Uninhabitable, or something like that.
I don't know how to tell the devs. I write it here hoping they see it but it's too late now anyway. It's coming out. I'm still buying it but I just hate how Ubisoft doesn't pay attention to detail.

No, same team (or VERY similar) to *Shaun White Snowboarding*. The trick system is the same and some animations like how the character walks are incredibly similar.
This game worth 60 bucks? How long would you say the play time would be without getting bored?
