- Funny scene from Lars Von Trier's The House That Jack Built (2018)
Jack pretending to be a police officer and claims that he can help a woman out with her dead husband’s pension. - Фільми й анімація
The way he says "Police", jumping up and down excitedly like it's some magic word that should instantly get the woman's trust, had me rolling XD
Lmao yes that part always gets me
He looks so happy and excited to put his little plan into action at the beginning
This is fucking michael scott

Where is that bit?
Her face gradually getting more and more confused just sells this scene.
I thought it was a comedy movie
@@aa-xy4hg And his face always reminds me of Jim Carrey, it's like they are brothers, which made this scene even more funny for me.

Worst liar in the world.
Still got in.
Because the plot allowed him to..

Correct.
@Edrien Graham wow. Great burn.
Same thing said about Donald Trump
(Edit yeah this film got a whole lot more clever)
@@CannibalWHORE22 I think that's part of it, Lars said this movie was inspired a lot by the trump administration
even though matt dillon gives an absolute stellar performance, all the victims performances were just as incredible if you ask me.
they’re all great well known actors
@@PAMPEP411 the last of the great actors. I’m not sure if there are any real actors anymore
@@whitedragoness23 i agree there really aren’t many newer actors. Jake Gyllenhaal is pretty talented. Nightcrawler is a great example. Joaquin is pretty good & Toni Collette is great. but truly skilled and focused talented actors are rare these days.
Uma thurman killed it as a victim, she was really trying to irritate the dude lol
@@PAMPEP411 the problem is a lot of these actors don’t seem to act well enough and mostly chosen for looks or popularity
What’s truly heartbreaking is seeing poor Jack get humiliated out there
It’s just so damn humiliating. It’s just not fair.
What tough luck!
You know Glenn?
Yeah sure
great guy isn't he?
Everyone knows him.
i know glenn too hes a nice guy
I laughed with my gut at that part... it's those subtle lines that get me lol
I heard he got his head beaten in with a baseball bat by Negan
This is brilliant acting
Matt Dillon kills it in this scene, and in the entire film, but man, Siobhan Fallon is absolutely brilliant here.
He literally kills in the entire film
She was amazing
"So...now what are ya?"
normal people would just shut the door when he said he doesn't have a badge, I guess she's the other kind
Give me sugar and water
Oh that is her I almost did not know that until I recognize her voice that scene still cracks me up.

Dead ass accurate

One of my favorite parts of this movie is multiple takes getting put together, really highlights Jack's skittish and unhinged nature.
this scene was hilarious. the whole 2nd incident was when he keeps going back in the house to check for blood. i was laughing.
It's funny in a disturbing way, yea sure
@@rhombusskullvsteal1 yeah it's darkly hilarious
I told my brother to watch it. he likes stuff like Dexter so. I personally think this movie is wonderfully warped. I laughed way too much.
@Andrew Becker yes
@@rhombusskullvsteal1
It's called dark humor or black comedy. There's nothing wrong with finding scenes in this film funny.
1st Incident - Ed Kemper
2nd Incident - Dennis BTK Rader
3rd Incident - Robert Hansen
4th Incident - Ted Bundy
Jack's house - Ed Gein
Jack - The Zodiac
God, I LOVE THIS MOVIE
Given no ra** happend in the 4th incident. And the fact that Ted "mosty" took the pleasure from the ra** and assault and also the necrop**** not the murder makes me think your comment is somewhat not correct. In the 4th incident Jack takes pleasure from the murder and wipeout of a family this is not something i would agree on Ted looking for.
BTK usually studied his victims like "projects" and in this scene it seems jack is kind of improvising. Also BTK usually was already in the house waiting for his victims to come home makes me think you are somewhat not correct here either.
I do not really know if ed kemeper would have taken offence to the interaction that happened in incident one although he would defenietley be the type to help out in the way jack did. Ed would have probably if in a bad mood picked up the woman and considered killing her, her being alone on a forrest road. Although he probably would have tought about her car being found etc. In a way incident one might be in some way correct.
“bring me sugar water”
I DIDNT EVEN THINK That WAS HER

"Edgar ur skin is hangin' off ur bones"......
Why am I not surprised you’ve watched this film
They’re shining it up and.....adding a few additional citations to it....
He’s like a vampire, he needs permission in order to gain entry.
I couldn’t help but laugh out loud when he said he was an insurance agent , I do wish we watch the scene with not so many edit cuts which would help it feel more natural besides his shaky ruse. I did feel very uncomfortable but the laugh relieved some
I wonder if there is any deleted scenes that they cut out they didint use in the film.
And also that part has so much details, because the entire vibe changes in one go! Like when Glenn drives by and he pretends to know him and all, its like the sun shining after rain and i think that definitly is intentional! Because that really help him manipulate her into letting him in. Safety, security, economical bonuses and understanding. If he really were a salesman he would make a sale right there on the spot!
@@kenderick100 everything that probably would've been cut is in the directors cut of the house that Jack built, other than that ,the cuts are just a von Trier thing in all his movies
Yeah not a fan of the cuts but the scene remains really great
people have been complaining, at least since Dogville, that Von Trier has lost a step, or is past his prime, or whatever, and I guess I can understand, but he still manages to get the most fascinating performances out of his caste. I was hanging on every word.
This scene is so awkward! The actors do such a phenomenal job
He was so silly at the beginning 😭
I demand this room be inspected impeccably!
With a magnifying glass, if you catch my drift!
Thanks for uploading, this scene is hilarious
Glenn!
Great guy, great guy
Fucking hilariously brilliant! Love this scene, and Dillon was phenomenal as Jack.
The worst that could happen is worse than she thought...
Appreciate u uploading this scene
I love the sarcasm
Matt Dillon was unintentionally funny asf in this movie 😂😂😂😂 that’s what made it sooo damn great. I can’t wait to see what Lars Von Trier drops next 🔥🔥🔥 Hellava director
Is it wrong that I fucking adore this film? The stock footage scenes and the hilariously pretentious lamppost metaphors ruin it, but man... I was just absolutely fascinated by this film (and still am) since the day I saw it a few months ago at the theater, and I've watched it 3 times in total since its release. There is a lot going on in every scene that you won't pick up on with your first viewing. This is just a masterfully constructed dark comedy that completely manipulates your emotions in the way that Jack manipulates his victims' emotions. You almost start to enjoy Jack, despite him being a piece of filth, and then you hate him 2/3 in, and then you start to laugh at his antics again in the last third of the film. This will be a cult classic. YMS is a moron.
Dennis Reynolds Totally agree with you. I feel like so many people misunderstood this movie, and it’s motives. Before seeing it people made it out to be this disgusting, gory shock value movie, but it’s more intelligent then that! The comedy used in the movie was spot on, and all the messages of realism are all there as well! Love this movie! One of the best ones I’ve seen in ages!
I feel the same way. Love the movie. Not even a Von Trier fan honestly. But this movie hooked me. I’ve seen it several times. It’s creepy, funny and grotesque all at the same time. This whole scenario was fun to watch ocd and all.
What about the smell? YOU HAVENT THOUGHT ABOUT THE SMELL?!?!
Well, you're Dennis Reynolds, and thus probably a serial killer as well, so of course YOU adore it.
Nah, but seriously. I feel the same, right down to seeing it as a dark comedy.
Dude the pretentiousness of Jack's metaphors coupled with Virgil calling him out on his bullshit the whole time was hilarious. YMS missed hard with his review
For those people who don’t understand he depicts her to virgilio as a stupid woman, the same goes for the blonde one. It’s not because of plot but because he himself tells story of “stupid” women. He denies it but you can see that every women he talks about is naive or stupid.... showing what he thinks of them.
It makes sense, this film might require a few rewatches, it felt like a dark comedy. I heard it was the most disturbing of late von tier’s films? I havnt seen them all but it seems mild
@@whitedragoness23 it ain’t mild.
@@KD--sj8eo maybe cause I watch crimes committed in real life. Those are brutal. You wouldn’t believe what horrible acts people will commit to innocent, defenseless people.
The most disturbing killing Jack did was on the kids. Gaining their trust then killing them, and torturing their mother. The rest just seemed like every day occurrence that happens in real life.
Some seemed more like a commentary like the woman he claimed he loved. How she screamed for help yet no one in the whole building even cared
It reminded me of a few cases, one in which a woman screamed he’s killing me and all the neighbors heard her and did nothing. They could hear her being killed and struggling
@Amethyst
Kitty Genovese
Supposedly that article about no one helping wasn't true and a neighbor stayed with her after the assailant left, also some placed emergency calls but no one wanted to approach while the attacker was present, which is understandable.
I'd have to look it up again to be sure the details are correct though.
@Amethyst
From the Wikipedia article about Kitty Genovese:
"In 2007, an article in the American Psychologist found 'no evidence for the presence of 38 witnesses, or that witnesses observed the murder, or that witnesses remained inactive'.
In 2016, the Times called its own reporting 'flawed', stating that the original story 'grossly exaggerated the number of witnesses and what they had perceived.'"
Why she opened the door? I will never know 😂😂😂😂 she shoulda slammed the door in his face and called the cops asap 😂

Matt Dillon is amazing in this movie
The movie was disturbing but sometimes it was unintentionally funny
when youre alone and alone accept any lie just to come in your house..
This actor's character can play as Trevor Phillips brother from gta lol

This is painful to watch LOL
Watched this last Oct. for the first time & it was horrifying & beautifully composed. Gonna have to watch it again by myself cause all the homies are too squeamish
4:39 like how glenn responds to his name with "glenn"
Incredibly unlucky woman: first her husband gets possessed by an insectoid alien, then this. lol its even the same house from MIB, guess she never sprung for that interior decorator, cuz DAYUM!
Jack, or like Patrick Bateman are very scary, but also very funny to see their actions, their like children
Classic scene
I remember Her 20 years ago in Dancer in the dark.
Am I the only one who burst out laughing at the ending when Percy Mayfield's "Hit the Road Jack" immediatly started playing? Such an absurd film. Imagine being the CGI artist who had to animate little kids getting shot? SMH...

I think that lars watched 2007 Funny Games by Haneke. the ending is quite similar, even the same actress
Watch this scene, but pretend it's a sketch on "I Think You Should Leave"
he's not lying totally. we want to prevent things "like you going there". nothing has happened as of yet like "I haven't killed you yet"
Very weird fact. Same actress in almost identical scene in the movie Funny games. She also opens the door to a serial killer who lies that neighbour asked for some eggs, she let's him in and ...
this movie is more of a comedy than anything. It's like dumb and dumber for serial killer fans.
double double, toil and trouble. ROTFLMAO!
OMFG isn't that Edgar's missus from MIB lmao 'you kicked HIM out! so now you gonna go get some nice dresses, maybe some nice shoes, and hire an interior decorator because, damn!'
4:43 yeah sure lmao
this scene is so uncomfortable to watch. even if you put yourself in jack's perspective, the jumping from "i'm a police officer" to the double the lady's pension, to "haha lol jk i'm actually an insurance guy" is so cringe inducing and even if you put yourself in the lady's perspective like, this conversation shouldn't have lasted 2 minutes. the conversation should've been over if it was me when he said "i left my badge because i was getting it shined"
This the same lady from men in the black that let the alien cockroach in
Glenn . . .as in Glenn Gould
Why on Earth is Fred's mom from Fred the Movie doing there lol.

@@Wormbung she’s probably naturally paranoid. A lot of people are and would totally fall for it.
this movie was really good. i wish lars von trier would stop putting these didactic stock photo montages in his movies though. they take away from the viewing experience and makes it feel like you're using a duolingo app. i read somewhere that this was lars von trier's response to trump. if so, than the victims being really gullible and the killer being so inept make am accurate representation of the politician voter relationship. matt dillon is great in this. all the acting is great. the 3 movies it reminds me of most in no particular order and without a reason are All that Jazz, American Psycho and Frankenhooker. well that's my spoiler free review.

love this movie, finally a director who's not afraid to portray w*men like that in the media in today's day and age where they are all super stronk powerful and all knowing
Wow wow wow... This is how I few most white men to behave at some point if given the opportunity! Lol
I do love a good Trump allegory
Chris Martinez what trump allegory?
care to explain? just curious
Calvin Nest Lied to billions of people to get into the Oval Office and succeeded
Thank you for succinctly handling. I would have been too long winded and didn’t feel like even starting as it just seemed too obvious to me.
Chris Martinez You’re welcome, yeah I mean it is pretty easy to comprehend. but I guess some people need a little bit of help understanding the metaphors. But I am not making fun out of anyone (not that I am accusing you of doing the same also I apologize for being long winded with this) but sometimes I need to look up stuff on the internet to help me figure what the movie was about or what it was metaphorically talking about.
It’s a shame I like that actress, very shitty movie though tells us absolutely nothing about anything, Zero character development, just blood and gore.
Tf? It's actally a pretty good movie, I hues the only thing you noticed was the gore lol
Are you blind?
isn't this the same lady who plays a similar character in the first Men in Black when her husband turns into that roach thing?
