Why not both? Remake for those unfortunate enough to have never played it, and obviously those of us who have played it can reap the benefits of both the remake and sequel.
Funny how some of the game designers started to move over to smaller projects for PSP like Locoroco. Instead of The Legend of Dragoon 2 you got Locoroco for PSP. But that was then, things have changed at Japan Studio since Allan Becker become studio director. He's taking another gamble like he did for Santa Monica Studio with God of War in the PS2 days. Who knows, this project might even be better than The Legend of Dragoon. TGS can't come soon enough!
+Justanotherconsumer The Legend of Dragoon was basically a concept from an old SNES game, Skyblazer, Sony owns. The hero's design was an early prototype for Dart.
+Tjracerz then now would be a great time to do it the last Guardian is coming out, i could even make a final boss dragon for it Legend of Dragoon I mean
Legend of Dragoon is my favorite game of all time. I try to play it every year as some sort of nostalgia ritual i'm sure. I'm currently playing through the 11th time. Love.
+Christopher Simmons its tied with ff7 for me i only kept my black disk versions lod and ff7 when i moved, and they are the reason i got a backwards compatable to ps1 ps3, just to play them both forever
nice i think i got to like the second to last level in first sitting and i was so upset when i came back and beat it in another like half an hour or so
Rob. I love you. Jade Cocoon is one of those bloody games that I mention and nobody knows anything about. Thanks for giving some more attention to it. Now go play the Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen Playstation edition.
I like how at the end of Jade Cocoon you were basically allowed to keep breeding and making badass creatures. I spent so many hours trying out all the different creatures you could make. I forget what kind of moral it had though.
It was basically all about balance, there has to be light and darkness etc. It also taught you to leave the forest to itself, hunting monsters was penalised as it was meant to be Monster Vs Monster, going along with the story of the Human+Beast love story messing up the world.
I remember that mosters could take on the textures of monsters you fused them with. On the PS1! That kind of customization was unheard of at that time.
I was wondering why he stopped counting after 7, then I remembered he makes a lot of lists wth 7. That's really funny. Hopefully I'm not wrong about that
Not annoyed, disappointed that they were so bad. Legaia was really good but the sequel just looked meh to meh so I never played it. Although even if I wanted to when it came out I don't think I ever saw it in a store.
Legend of the Dragoon was literally my favorite game on the PSX. I remember going into the local SEARS when my dad worked there and playing the demo repeatedly.
The most satisfying thing ever getting the timing of the additions down, hearing the characters yell and grunt with each strike and then finally yelling it out as they finished it off....BURNING RUSH! ....ROSE WHIP!
Great list! I'd also include the Suikoden series, Xenogears and Xenosaga, the Illusion of Gaia, Alundra and Alundra 2, Lunar and Lunar 2, and the Growlanser series.
Good list, but doesn't it bother you that Alundra 2 actually has nothing to do with Alundra beyond the name (and presumably the programmers), or is that just me?
Jeremy Samuelson I loved xenogears one of my all-time favourites sadly tho not released in Europe. I remember getting an import copy and modding my ps1 to play it.
what about jedo the raseru of darkness, if you get the amulet that lets you summon him then it is a one hit kill, there is also horn (light), goat (water), and i never could get enough of the game coins to get the earth one. that being said i did take the extra side questing hours to do the fishing minigame for goat.
Legend of Dragoon was amazing :) I got deeply into that game , the story was very moving. I played it at about the same time as Legend of Legaia which is another amazing game with a deeply moving story. Both are a treasured part of my PSX collection to this day :).
i loved legend of dragoon. as a person who was absolutely in love with dragons, this was a must have. i would joke about the horrible voice acting and i really wished it was one of those games you could change your main characters name, but it really was a game that was worth having.....evn tho i was teased for having it. i'd love to see a remake of it and what they could do to it with the advancement in gaming we have now.
The Legend of Dragoon... the game I grew up on and to this day is still my favorite game of all time. Any Final Fantasy game, Chrono Trigger, and any other similar games still haven't hit the same chord The Legend of Dragoon has. It's amazing how the story evolves and progresses. You start off by rescuing your best friend since childhood (rescuing the princess) but by disc four you realize you need to save the world. I love every character and a cried multiple times throughout the game. A true masterpiece.
I've played and completed all of these. Including Punch the Bad Man 1-6. What's that? You've not played or heard of Punch the Bad Man 6? Well, I'm not surprised, it's pretty obscure...but easily the best in the series.
Legend of Dragoon?!? I honestly had a friend tell me it was about Kain from FF. I admit, I was disappointed upon learning that it was not, but that disappointment vanished w/in the first 5 seconds of the game. Ok not the first 5 seconds but still, go play this game if you haven't.
Absolutely loved Legend of Dragoon. Right up there for me from that era was the strategy game Brigandine, with it's collection of various classes of Rune Knights and armies of mythological creatures that you could level up and evolve. Also a huge fan of the original Suikoden and Wing Commander: The Price of Freedom.
I liked Medievil 2 better (possibly because I owned it and beat it unlike the first one). Both are still fine games , I hope the remake delivers to introduce those who haven't played them to Sir Dan.
I want a dragoon remake, but i'm so afraid it would get screwed up by corporate executive committee design, i almost want it to stay the wonderful classic it is.
Legend of Dragoon and Jade Cocoon were both amazing. I'd add Dark Cloud to the list. great game but few played it, it's on the PSN store, I highly recommend it.
I actually first heard of Jade Cocoon because it was mentioned in Tip and Tricks for having a tutorial where you could trick the game into giving you and endless number of starter monsters. Never played it, but that bit got stuck in my head.
This is probably the most nostalgic list of games ive seen on your show! The title was so misleading as its literaly my childhood summed up in one video. Especialy Jade Cocoon. Thanks for bringing back some seriously awesome memories guys 😊 ❤
Jade cocoon is a game I played a few times when I was really young and have been looking for it ever since. I couldn't for the life of me remember the name, only a few images, but I remembered how fond I was of it and I always wanted to give it another go. Thanks for reminding me of that one! As soon as I find a copy I'll be going back to play it again!
Rob! Please do 7 games that you want to keep in every generation consoles... For me I like to keep Resident Evil 4 which I'll be playing the remastered version this fall. Hell I'll play it again in PlayStation 7. 😄😄😄 ooh that, and The Last of Us... What else, ooh! Jak and Daxter series....
I bought Resident Evil 4 on Xbox 360 Marketplace as soon as it came out. Still can't understand why they changed it so much for 5 when they had made arguably one of the best games of all time.
Yeah, it's a classic, however...considering it's not really talked about too much anymore, I can imagine there's a lot of people nowadays that haven't played or even heard about it, which is kinda sad considering it's a really good rpg.
It was popular enough, but it was a different time back then. There were less PlayStations in households, and not everyone was into JRPGs at the time. Some people didn't even get into them until PS2 era.
It came out just after ffviii. because I was tired of my friend borrowing ffviii so I bought her a copy for her b-day and she bought me LOD, because I geeked out at the store playing a demo of the game.
Legend of Dragon was my first ever RPG, and It was uh-mazing!!! It taught me that wishes can come true... as long as you have all those stardusts at hand hehehehe... Double Slash, Perky Step, Fury of Styx, GUST OF WIND DANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That last one was hard to execute!!!
Yep! i agree with all this! Especially with gust of wind dance. thats why its better to grind early and get it with Lavitz instead of Albert like I did in one play-through :P
Yes! Did somebody say Def Jam? I have that game on my old GameCube, still whip it out every now and then. And here I thought I was the only person left who ever played it, lol it's encouraging to see that other people were/are into it. What I'd give for a remake
OMG Jade Cocoon! I first played this game in my friend's house back in 2003 (didn't have a playstation back then). Long story short I moved to a different country, and long distance communication wasn't like what it is now, so we ultimately lost contact. Years later I felt the itch to play the game again, and only now I remember what the title of the game was! Thanks Rob!
My list would include Vagrant Story, Silent Bomber, Alundra, Tail Concerto, Front Mission 3, Armored Core, that's not even half of weird games I've played on the PS1 that nobody I've told about has heard of. PS2 is a whole other realm.
I didn't beat Silent Bomber until I had an emulator so I could fast save during the final boss. but I could shave my play time to just about an hour and a half.
Legend of Dragoon was and even still is an amazing game (despite numerous errors in translation), and the main reason for my enjoyment of it was taking down the entire evil empire... and then realizing that was ONLY DISC 1! That moment of realization will forever be a fond memory for me. Also on this list, I've played Zone of the Enders, which I didn't appreciate at the time because I was really young and terrible at the game, and Jade Cocoon 1&2, both excellent games that gave you a reason to go beyond the end of the story for reasons other than just making your team better. I still remember (vaguely) my team in JC2 that was almost completely invincible, putting up strong barriers, debuffing enemies, attacking, then healing any damage that actually managed to get past the walls. Good times.
Well to be fair he said games you've probably never played. I've heard of Catherine but never played it. Legend of dragoon however was on of my favorites.
Pretty underrated game in my opinion. Doesnt get the love it deserves. And Dustin, if you watched this video; youd know that some people probably purchased BFM just to get the FF8 demo.
I did watch the video. So apparently you took that as "1.4 million bought BFM, played the FF8 demo and then immediately discarded the game," which would leave you as one of the world's select few who played this obscure, esoteric gem. Nerd credibility points awarded to the half dozen people at most who have ever played these ridiculously rare games that no other human being has ever heard of!
+Eraezr It's from Binary Domain, where the two American characters shout that phrase to each other. The ending SPOILERS I got had a sad version of that, where one of those American characters really did wind up dead. :(
my god trying to find all the star dusts and also getting kongols dragon most people didn't know about not to mention like the almost impossible last boss fight
Same,at least i think so,cant remember if i got past the first level honestly however i totally remember those reddish walls aaaaand legend of dragoon was awesome :Q____ didnt finish that one either tho, that freaking lyoid villain
I finished it but I was 20. Game was hard as hell. I recall starting a mission over 12 -14 times easily. I'd probably just smash the controller now and walk away screaming profanities. The poor dog would be hiding from me for hours.
Yeah Final Fantasy did something similar with prerendered environments to run around in, I think it stood out most obviously in FFVIII but its a style I still love from that era
Don't listen to all the haters cuz... You've got one of the best channels on UA-cam in my opinion. I've only ever subscribed to 5 channels in all of UA-cam's history and your one of them, so you must be doing something right.
Legend of Dragoon is an amazing game with a stellar story. One of my first and favourite games. If you own a PS3, you can download it as a PS1 classic and play it, and it should be played.
Yes! I never expected much from it, but the music and the old-school feel blew me away. And of course the story. It's not perfect, but it's definitely underrated.
That game was brilliant! I still have it. Dunno if my PS2 is still functional after being stashed away for so long because I sure would like to play it again :)
I was genuinely going to make this comment. For some reason both those games are intrinsically linked in my memories. Loved Future Cop, especially the multi player. :)
1,2,3,4,5,6,7...1,2 . Clever humor, this is why I love your videos Rob.
6:46 yes!
Totally agree. I just independently commented about the same thing.
Legend of Dragoon is hands down the game that needs a remake!
Not a remake. It needs a sequel.
Why not both? Remake for those unfortunate enough to have never played it, and obviously those of us who have played it can reap the benefits of both the remake and sequel.
+HonestOpinions4u Yes! You translated for me what I meant lol.
+HonestOpinions4u Agreed.
LAAAAAAAVVVIIIIIIIIITZ
Legends of Dragoon and Zone of the Enders are two games I grew up playing. God I wish they would reboot Legends of Dragoon.
Funny how some of the game designers started to move over to smaller projects for PSP like Locoroco. Instead of The Legend of Dragoon 2 you got Locoroco for PSP. Who knows, this project might even be better than The Legend of Dragoon. TGS can't come soon enough!
Parappa the Rapper meets Final Fantasy. It was... odd, but cool.
+Justanotherconsumer The Legend of Dragoon was basically a concept from an old SNES game, Skyblazer, Sony owns. The hero's design was an early prototype for Dart.
They have more than enough lore for a prequel 11,000 years ago.
There was supposed to be a 2nd game, for the Ps2, but was canceled, - there was a petition to re-boot it but i don't think it got much leverage
LOL! "Looking through my "collection"." All's he had was Final Fantasy and Metal Gear! LOL!! Now *that* was funny! :-D
I dont even own a console - I watch your videos because I really enjoy Rob's humor.... top job!
+Geopher 77 You're very kind, thank you :) -Rob
Man, Legend of Dragoon is a game that needs a remake! It was awesome!
did someone say....Legend of Dragoon remake? GIMME NOW
i agree it definitely needs a remake or maybe a sequel even
+Nakoa Fluellen there was a sequel in the works back then but it never got past pre production and the team went to make ico instead.
I agree
+Tjracerz then now would be a great time to do it the last Guardian is coming out, i could even make a final boss dragon for it Legend of Dragoon I mean
I grew up with the first few titles. "Legend of the Dragoon" and "Zone of the Enders" I have some of the fondest memories of.
lod would be the only reason I would buy a ps4 but until that day I'll be pc and xbone.
Hunter Clark I have played most of ff7 and enjoyed the game. Interested in how they remake it for ps4.
I do the same thing haha even after exploring every little nook and cranny in the game i keep coming back for more
LoD was so good! That is one of my favorite classic game by far.
I played Vanquish so much I was able to finish it in an afternoon. Love that game.
nice i think i got to like the second to last level in first sitting and i was so upset when i came back and beat it in another like half an hour or so
it needs a part 2
I have it sitting on the shelf for the past year, gotta to get to it.
That game is so awesome , I bought it because it was cheap, wasn't expecting it to be so good then I realised it was by the makers of beyonneta
The Legend of Dragoon was one of the best games for the PS1 and I loved it! Wish it would get a remake or HD boot.
All of us who have played it wish that :)
Yes indeed.
I think its horseshit that FF7 gets a PS4 rerelease with Trophies and LOD cant....
LOD > FF7
Lavitz > Aerith
Main reason I have a ps vita is because it's on it.
Brett Hicks LAVITZ! My heart hurts, then they replace him with Albert...
Rob.
I actually had 1 monster that was freakishly op, withhow much work I put into it I STILl have my old save data
I remember that mosters could take on the textures of monsters you fused them with. On the PS1! That kind of customization was unheard of at that time.
I remember abusing the Arpatron glitch at the very beginning of the game and being super OP! I still have the game. May have to play it again...
anyone heard of syphon filter?
shyheem branch yes my brother and I played it together
shyheem branch I've beaten it at least 3 times. I didn't care as much for the sequels, but that game was awesome.
it was one of the first game ive ever played
Yess! I liked the first few on the PS1, but never played any of the others.
shyheem branch hell ya! I'm from bend
"1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 1, 2!" Clever Rob, Clever
Haha 😂 well spotted...!
Aha I paused the video there to see if anyone else in the comments got that... simply genius😂😂
+Mafaman
At the start of the video one of the comments Rob read said he could only count to 7...
Ahh haha, I cottoned on to that but assumed he was counting combo kills; the meter then ran out and then next combo began.
Legend of Dragoon is one of my favorite RPG's of all time. Excellent game!!!
I love how he wasn't even looking at the comments in the beginning haha :P
the screen on the left of that one had comments on it
I thought that initially too, but it wasn't so.
Screen on the left.
Oracle Nova
I see it now haha, it's kinda hard to see. Thank you
I was wondering why he stopped counting after 7, then I remembered he makes a lot of lists wth 7. That's really funny. Hopefully I'm not wrong about that
I was looking for this comment!
It's because of one of the hate comments at the start
Anyone else notice that Rob didn't count past 7 when talking about vanquish XD?
I scrolled too far for this comment.
Yes, that was funny!
i laughed harder than i should have
I JUST REALIZED THAT!
+Lappy Fox I agree, I laughed too loud at that part
Rob, you are amazing, you deserve an award for best UA-camr😃
Yes I agree -Rob
I like you because you're humble, Rob, especially in times like these
he is the best ever
+PlayStation Access I guess it's official now.
It's your presenting voice, it's amazing! I heard your normal voice in the e3 interviews, it's surprisingly normal.
I like how Rob counted the deaths of 7 bad guys, then started back at 1. Cheeky
Is that nathan playing witcher 3 behind rob at the 0:30 mark? He's even sneaking witcher 3 into other features now
I noticed that as well. I guess he just won't stop.
The Witcher is amazing, I don't blame him
hahaha love this. Great spot
+randomguy8196 what platform? You really need to play it. Hands down the best game I have ever played
I thought that as well
"Has Rob only played seven games in his entire time or is that just as far as he can count?" and then 6:40 lol this guy is hilarious
Anyone remember legend of legaia?! Or xenogear?!
^^ This.
I remember those games, have you ever played Xenosaga?
You mean the waste of a game series that was supposed to explain the the events up to xenogears and didnt?
+SexyMonsterLover sorry that I made you feel annoyed. Legend of Legaia was good, did you play the sequel?
Not annoyed, disappointed that they were so bad. Legaia was really good but the sequel just looked meh to meh so I never played it. Although even if I wanted to when it came out I don't think I ever saw it in a store.
Legend of the Dragoon was literally my favorite game on the PSX. I remember going into the local SEARS when my dad worked there and playing the demo repeatedly.
I LOVED Punch The Bad Men 5 when it came out! Although the graphics weren't the best.
I've been thinking about buying it! What platforms were it released on? I think I have seen it on Playstation 360 U, but I'm not sure.
***** Start the hype train!
Punch the Bad man 5 is a 10/10 on IGN
I heard the original PTBM is coming out on virtual console soon cannot wait!
I liked the series until they added the kicking to it. Its called Punch the bad men not punch and kick the bad men
that beginning skit made me laugh so hard
Same. Mostly because you actually see comments like those every one of these videos. Love Rob.
+Blah Blaha yeah rob is a big man
Yha
legend of dragoon is and will always be my first true favorite turn based rpg. hell yeah it needs a remake and soon
The most satisfying thing ever getting the timing of the additions down, hearing the characters yell and grunt with each strike and then finally yelling it out as they finished it off....BURNING RUSH! ....ROSE WHIP!
Derrick McDowell I always messed up Rose Whip even though it was one button
fangiscool1 took me a little while to get used to the timing but once I finally did I was so excited. Zeschels additions always messed me up lol
Thank you for mentioning Lunar!!! I remember Lunar Silver Story Complete and Lunar 2.... They need a remake badly!
Don't leave out the Star Ocean series, Grandia, Secret of Mana series
You guys mentioned all the ones I did think of plus the ones I forgot to mention. There are way to many golden oldies in videogames.
Where is the love for Legend of Legaia!!! Was a great game Y_Y.
Ozma, Meta and Terra.
what about jedo the raseru of darkness, if you get the amulet that lets you summon him then it is a one hit kill, there is also horn (light), goat (water), and i never could get enough of the game coins to get the earth one. that being said i did take the extra side questing hours to do the fishing minigame for goat.
The earth Ra-Seru was such a pain in the ass to get! Hardly worth it too.
Jedo is still my all-time favourite summon in any game!
Metal Saga too! From PS2
Legend of Legaia is one of my all time favorite ps1 games.
how about Parasite Eve ?
thaaat game is awesome and i was the only one of my friends that had it.
The first was awesome, the sequel not so much.
I prefered the second one
Here's an idea : Okami
God, i love Parasite Eve so much. People complain about camera angle in PE:2, but i loved it because it just adds more difficulty to the gameplay.
Legend of Dragoon was amazing :) I got deeply into that game , the story was very moving. I played it at about the same time as Legend of Legaia which is another amazing game with a deeply moving story. Both are a treasured part of my PSX collection to this day :).
I love all your videos Rob.
i loved legend of dragoon. as a person who was absolutely in love with dragons, this was a must have. i would joke about the horrible voice acting and i really wished it was one of those games you could change your main characters name, but it really was a game that was worth having.....evn tho i was teased for having it. i'd love to see a remake of it and what they could do to it with the advancement in gaming we have now.
Punch the bad man must be a good game because they made five of them.
I remember playing Punch the Bad Man II, that game was great!
ballroomscott I never played any of the Punch the Bad Man games I hope they do a remaster of the old ones for the PS4.
It's only about as good as cod...
Punch the Bad Man IV was awful though, right? -Rob
Well they made literally 15 Assassins Creed games, and only about 2 of those 15 are good.
I've played Dragoon & FF7 and (maybe I'm biased because it was the first RPG I played) I still think Dragoon is the better game
I've played and completed all of these. Including Punch the Bad Man 1-6. What's that? You've not played or heard of Punch the Bad Man 6? Well, I'm not surprised, it's pretty obscure...but easily the best in the series.
How did you stomach Punch The Bad Man 4? Awful -Rob
True, it was a real gut punch that one! I'll see myself out... :(
Screen on the left , not the one in the middle, optical illusion that makes him seem like he is looking at the middle one.
he was loking at his third monitor actually not the one in the middle
+MR. .Spoon Seems Legit
Saw Dragoon in the thumbnail...got pretty hype.
Who cares dude
I am surprised that Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance wasn't on the list.
elf sorceress OP
Rob, don't ever stop making your Friday feature videos. You've given my life purpose and meaning again.
Legend of Dragoon?!? I honestly had a friend tell me it was about Kain from FF. I admit, I was disappointed upon learning that it was not, but that disappointment vanished w/in the first 5 seconds of the game. Ok not the first 5 seconds but still, go play this game if you haven't.
legend of legaia. This game was amazing also.
Sadly no one ever seems to mention that game but I really liked it. Ps1 had so many fantastic RPGs really.
Thank you!!!
I'm a proud owner of a Deadly Premonition platinum!
congratulations!
My condolences. :(
Absolutely loved Legend of Dragoon. Right up there for me from that era was the strategy game Brigandine, with it's collection of various classes of Rune Knights and armies of mythological creatures that you could level up and evolve. Also a huge fan of the original Suikoden and Wing Commander: The Price of Freedom.
Would Medievil for the PS1 be considered a cult classic? (that game was bloody amazing)
far more cult classic than anything he listed
If that is considere d to be one then what about the highmoon transformers WFC And FOC
It only was one of the big, popular and well known PS1 games. I wouldn't call that "cult classic"
Necropolis probably is i know i loved it
I liked Medievil 2 better (possibly because I owned it and beat it unlike the first one). Both are still fine games , I hope the remake delivers to introduce those who haven't played them to Sir Dan.
Played them all.
God, I want another ZoE and a remake of Legend of Dragoon.
And I completely forgot about Jade Cocoon.
ZoE :)?
I want a dragoon remake, but i'm so afraid it would get screwed up by corporate executive committee design, i almost want it to stay the wonderful classic it is.
Hoping sony will buy the ZoE IP and let Kojima do as he wishes with it
Please.
true. Its a real shame though. If any series deserves a beautiful remake it's dragoon.
Legend of Dragoon and Jade Cocoon were both amazing. I'd add Dark Cloud to the list. great game but few played it, it's on the PSN store, I highly recommend it.
love me some dark cloud
and yes jade cocoon was AMAZING
I actually first heard of Jade Cocoon because it was mentioned in Tip and Tricks for having a tutorial where you could trick the game into giving you and endless number of starter monsters. Never played it, but that bit got stuck in my head.
I was also thinking dark cloud. I always want to buy it when I see it on the store but have too many unplayed games already.
This is probably the most nostalgic list of games ive seen on your show! The title was so misleading as its literaly my childhood summed up in one video. Especialy Jade Cocoon. Thanks for bringing back some seriously awesome memories guys 😊 ❤
This video has the best intro. XD
Those ungrateful little...lol
I love Catherine! It's one of my favorites. I've been waiting for you guys to talk about it.
It's my favourite ps3 game. Slightly annoyed at gameinformer, who only gave it a 7 out of a possible 10..
You might know this already but Best Friends yt channel are playing through it.
+Katie Stardust I wish more UA-camrs would play it; it's interesting to see how they'd answer certain questions. I know Cry played it.
I miss The Legend of Dragoon so much! I wish they would re-create it for ps4 because it was such a good game, unfortunately not many played it ):
Jade cocoon is a game I played a few times when I was really young and have been looking for it ever since. I couldn't for the life of me remember the name, only a few images, but I remembered how fond I was of it and I always wanted to give it another go. Thanks for reminding me of that one! As soon as I find a copy I'll be going back to play it again!
I saw the pic to the video and said "is that legend of dragoon?!?"
Or rather 7 games that you can't let go....
I bought Resident Evil 4 on Xbox 360 Marketplace as soon as it came out. Still can't understand why they changed it so much for 5 when they had made arguably one of the best games of all time.
Not even Ashley Graham could ruin it, especially not when she was in a suit of armour.
+Ibraheem Productions God of war series
What? I thought Legend of Dragoon was quite popular and considered a classic! We all played the hell out of it as kids..
I thought it was popular too. Although it's rare to find people that ever played it now because it's just been forgotten.
Yeah, it's a classic, however...considering it's not really talked about too much anymore, I can imagine there's a lot of people nowadays that haven't played or even heard about it, which is kinda sad considering it's a really good rpg.
+Cole McGrath As Rob said it was out same time as Final Fantasy!
Among the hundreds of video game list videos, I go to these exclusively for the host; hes hilarious.
I love legend of dragoon. I leveled so high i was getting only 1 exp per battle and it still took me 2 hours to beat the end boss.
Especially with gust of wind dance. thats why its better to grind early and get it with Lavitz instead of Albert like I did in one play-through :P
volcano was my fave combo, an they way he shouted it out lol
or how lavitz called rose storm, flower storm instead.
Wind Dragoon combos got so hard after "that" happened.
Has anybody played Def Jam Fight for NY? Man that game is fun as hell.
Oh yes. that game was stupidly fun
Yea
Easily in my top 5 fighting games ever. especially as a rap fan
yea
Thanks Rob!
I'd piss myself if they remade legend of the dragoon. game was phenomenal.
You forgot American McGees Alice. And the sequel Alice: Madness returns
The 2nd one is definitely not a cult classic
Oh I love American McGee's Alice. What a game! I must replay it now!
The Legend of Dragoon is my all time favorite game
My list would include Vagrant Story, Silent Bomber, Alundra, Tail Concerto, Front Mission 3, Armored Core, that's not even half of weird games I've played on the PS1 that nobody I've told about has heard of. PS2 is a whole other realm.
Let's hear 'em, boss! Im getting more and more into the retros, anything to further my journeys into someone else's nostalgia is awesome.
Your list makes more sense. I think that those games are harder to come by.
I didn't beat Silent Bomber until I had an emulator so I could fast save during the final boss. but I could shave my play time to just about an hour and a half.
Ereaes That's impressive.
How could someone not heard of Armored Core? Impossible!
I've played legends of dragoon
Of all the games that need remaking, this is it!
Ikr
agreed
From the makers of Earthworm Jim, Wild 9 for ps1. twisted but fun.
I played the ever-loving shit out of that demo and finally managed to get a copy of the full game for $5 many years back. Ah, good times.
I still have that game and I loved it, sadly I never finished it for some reason.
My copy got stolen :(
brett mills Omfg I loved wild 9, I replayed it soooooo many tines
I remember that! Good times! I don't think I ever played it all the way to the end though...
Good times.
lots of people have heard of Catherine
btw while playing vanquish just remember "fisher is the other sam"
Well to be fair he said games you've probably never played. I've heard of Catherine but never played it. Legend of dragoon however was on of my favorites.
Clever one dude clever
I have played it its bloody great 😋😆😃😎
But have you played it
has anyone played Brave Fencer Musashi
yes
yes it's one of my favorites
1.4 million copies sold worldwide. So yes, other people have played it.
We definitely need a Legend of Dragoon remake.
Future Cop LAPD was a personal favorite from my childhood.
Catherine
edit: darn! he got it at #2
edit 2: ok ok. Okami HD. Binary Domain. Eternal Sonata (best soundtrack found in a JRPG) Ha!
Holler if you're dead!
Eternal Sonata was great! It definitely should have been on the list, because I know of noone who played it :/
SWProductions100
The dead holler?
+Eraezr
It's from Binary Domain, where the two American characters shout that phrase to each other. The ending SPOILERS I got had a sad version of that, where one of those American characters really did wind up dead. :(
+Ouka Hikari
I played it but I love JRPGs and it was one of the only ones on the PS3 at the time.
There is a small cult classic called Call of Duty Black Ops 3 not sure if anyone has heard of it apparently it had two games before it
no
+Not a Troll opinion you got that right treyarch is the only company who knows how to make a COD game
+TheSauce I'm pretty sure people will be playing BO3 even after Infinite Warfare
You joking right?
Black Ops2 is the best of the three.
my god trying to find all the star dusts and also getting kongols dragon most people didn't know about not to mention like the almost impossible last boss fight
6:39 - 6:48
Jokes like these are the reason I love your work. This punchline is amazing.
Dragoon and vanquish were one of the best games información ever played, and Grandia on ps1 is the best rpg ever, bet no one here ever played it.
Even tho Grandia 1 doesnt get mentioned a lot, it is definitely well loved. I deff played it and liked it a lot!
I played G-police.Couldn't get past the third stage either.
The poor dog would be hiding from me for hours.
zone of the enders was good
and gpolice yes yes yes
Legend of Dragoon! Favorite game of all time! Thank you for mentioning it!
hah I played jade cocoon demo too lol it was rather good
Also everyone knows G-police
That would be because the character designer from Studio Ghibli worked on Jade Cocoon. On top of being their first game due to that fact.
Future cop lapd
bloody roar
That game was awesome :D
Was just about to comment the same!!
Oh yes! Awesome action gameplay, split-screen coop and a dedicated multiplayer mode that was quite unlike anything else. Sky Captain eat my dust!
Also, you could shoot rockets that were robot dogs which would home in on your enemy while barking loudly and explode.
I remember Dragoon , the background graphics was better than the animated characters
And Cattherine had all my favorite voice actors
Yeah Final Fantasy did something similar with prerendered environments to run around in, I think it stood out most obviously in FFVIII but its a style I still love from that era
+Gordon Allinson Oh yes, I agree
0:24 that final fantasy collection won my heart over. You earned a sub
Why didn't you mention the Dark Cloud games?
I love Dark Chronicle 1 & 2! Some of my favorite PS2 games, so much fun! :D
Very true, they are SO good.
Dark Cloud was amazing. Only got hold of it as an import, modded my PS2 just so I would be able to play it.
+Moonbolt I believe there was three of them, but I only got my hands on/beat the first two...
+Stephen Ross played 1&2 but never heard about a third! Evolving weapons in the first was wonderful though.
legend of dragoon and parasite Eve 1 and 2nd would be great for remake
RydetheliteNINg o did you play the sorta 3rd on psp?
The Legend of Dragoon for the win!!
Don't listen to all the haters cuz... You've got one of the best channels on UA-cam in my opinion. I've only ever subscribed to 5 channels in all of UA-cam's history and your one of them, so you must be doing something right.
Came because I saw Legend of Dragoon.
"Ultra marmite status"
wait.
People like Marmite?
Also, I have heard of Jade cocoon you skrub.
asdf 10 confirmed
yes we do
yep and I could eat it with a spoon!
i loved legend of dragoon!
Legend of Dragoon is an amazing game with a stellar story. One of my first and favourite games. If you own a PS3, you can download it as a PS1 classic and play it, and it should be played.
If you have a ps3, you can play the hard copies. All ps3 models will play ps1 discs. Just make sure you set up your internal memory card.
It still isn't in the European Ps Store. Luckily I have my childhood copy of it.
Jade Cocoon 1 and 2 were both Incredible! So underrated.
One I'd like to add, Future Cop LAPD had so much fun playing this
legend of dragoon forever :D
why nobody talk about ps1 xenogears?
Nier? Totally underated
Yes! I never expected much from it, but the music and the old-school feel blew me away. And of course the story. It's not perfect, but it's definitely underrated.
+Gaarsin it had its problems... alot of problems might i add but its one of those cult classics for me. the characters and story really got me hooked
Hmm.....PS3. Kinda stretching the word "classic"
"Like some kind of rocket powered seven year old boy at a wedding" Rob, you are brilliant my dude.
What about the Dark Cloud series that no-one played on the PS2 era and almost no-one is playing on the PS4?
Wasn't Dark Cloud PS2? Pretty sure I remember playing it back in late elementary and early high school.
yeah its ps2 era.
yeah, think Dark Cloud was a ps2 launch title in uk
The PS3 AREA? What, you mean Home?
Mwoooorrgghahahaaaaa!!!
That game was brilliant! I still have it. Dunno if my PS2 is still functional after being stashed away for so long because I sure would like to play it again :)
I actually played G-Police, so there :p Anyone play Future Cop LAPD?
I LOVED Future Cop! Though me and my cousin never got far in that game, haha
THAT was the game I played as a kid.... I have been trying to remember the name of that for a while lol.
Thanks for that :)
the VS game mode agains sky captain was so cool! " I LIVE AGAIN!!!"
I was genuinely going to make this comment. For some reason both those games are intrinsically linked in my memories. Loved Future Cop, especially the multi player. :)
Reverendshot777 I think most of my time spent in that game was playing against the ai in multiplayer.
Cant remember if I finished the story or not.
Everyone needs to play omega boost ps1
Pineapple Pawnch i still have the demo :)
Who would of thunk Grand Turismo developer was making mecha games. I would love to see a comeback.
Pineapple Pawnch you're the first person other than myself that I've ever heard who knows about omega boost lol
I know this is an old video and no one will see this but I love all of you videos thank you for your love of Metal Gear and Final Fantasy ❤️
yes remake Legend of Dragoon!!!!
