Honestly, I’m a fan of the 20-25 minute videos! Gotta get a set of adjustable camber arms and you can dial in your rear alignment without needing to mess with ride height
The e-brake cable didnt pull put, because the end of the cable has a cap crimped on to it which cant go through a rubber boot you cant see, in the trailing arm. The rubber boot sits on top of that metal sheath, where the cable housing is sitting. To remove, you take a thin punch and knock the whole assembly out, from the outside -> inside. This only works i think if you ve taken the flange of the bearing off first. If you havent done this, get some pliers and work the plug out of trailing arm from the inside.
Bro i felt that driveshaft separation, situation in my soul lol. i was trying to change my diff bushings in my e46 sedan and i couldn't get the drive shaft to drop so i couldn't drop the diff . Wasn't trying to take the cover off so i just put it back together before i was balls deep. But after seeing you go through exactly what i did but having a solution - i thank you because of you, I was able to swap my bushings out🫡🫡I know the vid is old but it came in the clutch. Preciate it gang, Deff got my Sub & a bell notification brother
When I did my e30's rear sub I looked at the axle bolts and said hellllll nah because there was no way I was getting em loose lol. Just be glad your subframe actually came off, took me 3 days of using a 4lb sledge to get mine out.
I'm having the same exact problem on my 1998 328i. Rear subframe bushings are completely toast and you feel it everytime you shift and release the clutch. Watching this video for maybe a future fix...
I did my rear subframe in December (1999 328i touring) replaced all bushings with poly. Just removing the old bushings took us like 6 hours, if i knew it i would have picked up whole new subframe, arms and everything. It would save so much time and anger. FYI the car feels 1000% better, no clunk on shifting or when releasing the gas.
@@BIGimont A brand new one is of course always best but a new one with new arms, bushings etc. in my country will cost well over 1500 euros. If I get to keep the car, then I'll consider doing it.
The reason your impact didnt loosen the axle is because it looses way to much torque on the adapter, the extender and the socket witch arent rated for impacts (impact sovkets doesnt give as much so you doesnt loose as much torque)
ahhh the nightmare reinforcement tear down. Joel you have now reach golden ballsack status!! lmao. Rightnow im currently chasing down a gawdddamn vac leak. shit
That's a lot of work , good job , have a e46 touring in the fam and I love it so I'm always learning stuff , our handbrake doesn't do the job very well either so u know 😅
it's not the chassis thats weak, its the bad design of the subframe because the diff transferring torque + your gear shifts + bad subframe bushes. you can eliminate it with subframe reinforcements & solid subframe bushes. rear strut brace if you're keen too
also the maxpeedingrod adjustable lower control arms are decent from the experience i had with them, maybe its what you need to run 0 camber in the rear
I've been waiting for this video!! Dropping the rear end in my E90 next week so this will be helpful. Also have been very curious to see if wagons have the same issue with subframe cracking, since an E46 wagon is in my future
Yo man I love your videos. Your Uber videos inspired me to start, made a few grand while I was on a break from my other job for school so thank you! What are those BMW wheels called? They look EXTREMELY similar to the wheels on my Volvo, look up "Volvo Propus wheels". They're 2 piece BBS wheels from an early early 2000's "luxury" volvo
an ebrake when correctly adjusted should only click about 4 times and it'll be pretty hard to pull. once you get it all back in i bet youre going to want to put that extension back in
you live close to toledo ohio? if so, lets link up. ill help you for free on my spare time, and in return you do the same? really need a buddy up here as i moved from ky and have noone......no one i know anyhow. i have an 01 330ci auto. (keeping it auto, but gotta rebuild the trans as reverse is gone but all forward gears work) think its solenoids. i gotta do what your doing in this vid too, and motor and trans mounts. mines a daily tho....anyhow, if your close and what or need someone in spare time to give a helping hand lmk.

Cover the CV axle boots with a wet rag and then heat up the axle hub bolts -- this way you'll avoid burning a hole through your axle boots!
Most wholesome content. Absolutely love every snippet.. never skip 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Definitely underrated channel u deserve 10x the amount of subs u have

Greetings from Bulgaria bro, love your vids! So nice seeing new uploads! Keep up the great work!

I love the interactions with your brother. Thats true love
My inner TOMMYFYEAH came out once I saw “REAR SUBFRAME CONTENT”😮💨😮💨😮💨

@@saimk4239 You can buy used ones and refurbish them also. Will be like new and much cheaper.

All good bro! I enjoy these lengthy videos!
I got a E46 M3 and I'm lowkey deciding to do doordash after seeing your doordash videos 100 times lmao. GAS THOUGH 😣
m52 covers were magnesium too, just early ones were magnesium, late ones were plastic. m50 valve cover has oil cap on the back, m52 at the front
My guy gonna be a mechanic
Joel should become a dealer tech. It's hard work, but you can land some good paying jobs once you have the experience.
You are spinning my boy 🌊🌊🌊
just go hydraulic handbrake. don't waste your time with stockers at this point.
Big fan. Love the videos and content. Keep up the hard work. 25-30 minute videos for the win
randomly found your youtube had no idea that was you in the power slide cop video crazzy

had the exact same problem with the e-brake cabels, wasnt funny getting new ones in either

Get cmp subframe plates, they cover a much larger area for reinforcement
only 200 for a set of their stage 1 plates o.o
Waves 🥵. But love the content bro u make we wanna do door dash and record

I had the clunking also with the diff being lose or have like a low of play
Damn that car is full of rust underneath! u need a complete under carriage overhaul for it to be safe to drift!
As far as your valve cover is concerned, maybe the Vader Solutions stainless steel engine cover might help with the heat
Waves bussin
Motivation 💪
12:45 well you got lucky the bolts didnt just break in the chassis like mine did lol
I was surprised to see the pockets intact. My e36 has a lot less rust and one of the bolt holes was already tearing out.
You should do a DoorDash video in the E46?!
