Honestly I've always hated how all smartphone video looks like it was shot at F25 lol. I didn't actually think about the fact that you could force some depth into your shot with lighting. This shit looks so professional and the lack of depth of field is made up for with the dynamic lighting.
Tom Ryan you’ll not ate it anymore just try asus zenfone 6 dail it with a manual app you’ll be amazed
Love this video, thanks so much for showing that you can get really pro results from a Smartphone. The big mystery for me is how to get that "cinematic look" - which you totally have and I can't seem to get at all. I have the LG V50, I'm shooting at 4k @ 24fps and have good lighting but my stuff still doesn't look cinematic at all. How do you do it? Are there settings on your phone or do you do it all in post (Adobe Premiere, etc). Any tips you have would be SUPER appreciated! Thanks!!
Matthew Henry yes I do that’s why I’m so damn sure about it
Does anone know a good video recording app that's free? Does anyone have a link for Moment Video App?
''this shit looks so professional''
nicely taken out of context lol
This is my favorite channel at the moment. Keep killing it Nigel, really fantastic stuff :)
beautiful ! the way you make it seems so easy, great stuff as usual !!!
This video is gold! Love to see more videos like this, well done 👍
Wow, this was so brilliantly helpful.
Thanks so much man
Love this Nigel!! As a mobile filmmaker, I just went with the phone I had and love it! Thanks for looking out for the small guys!
yo man, you're awesome. im loving your stuff. keep it coming.
I love videos like this. It’s not the equipment - it’s how you use it. Thanks for making this ✌️
Exactly what I was looking for. Great video, man. Thanks!
This is much-needed information to me. Thank you, Nigel😍💯
you're a genius at making anything look great. big ups. am glad i saw this video
perfect, exactly what I was looking for, thanks. A wide angle clip on lense always helps a lot in a small space.
Awesome! Will definitely try this as I love producing high quality with my phone 📱
Thanks for the info you've put in this and all of your vids, your channel is very helpful! greetings from Venezuela
Thanks for this brother. I was struggling with grains in my indoor shots. And thanks for the free lut. It’s a nice color grading
wow, very. very. very. helpful. I literally just started my channel and this is so much value for a noob! Also, I never studied anything related to photography or lighting but you are so easy to follow! thanks!
I love this tutorial. Thank you for sharing
Ty so much for this video! Can’t wait to try everything out with my own stuff. Lighting is so darn important. I’ve been using an audio app to increase my audio sound by 300%, and need to try to use some lamps from my home to do a DIY setup after turning all the regular lights off, get some scented candles. Maybe use an orange sheet over one of the lamps. Cannot wait! Yours and a few others have been very instructive for me these past few days. Great to study.
I am learning how to improve my videos, I have a GH5 and I can’t get a good looking video as yours on an iPhone, you’re a beast! I was doing video on my iPhone until a month ago...
Now, that is the second video I watch from you and it is always top notch!
Exactly what i was looking for at the moment, how did u know? :D Thx man, helped a lot.
The free LUT is amazing!!! Thanks so much 😁
Just amazing video, I'm fun of your last wideo about cool shot from cheap can, thank U again and Again for your work and this amazing material !!!
Great stuff man ! Thanks for sharing !
Fire post man. Keep up the great work!
You taught me about something called color grading. Thanks. Huge help.
Wow! Thank you for this video. I really like filming with a phone but I struggle always for the quality of my videos because of the lighting. I never tried to lower the iso of the camera app I'm using. Definitely gonna practice what you did here.
Thanks Nigel. I am trying to create the right setup for me at the moment. Planning on using the iPhone or my old Canon 550D to start off. You had great tips on the basics in you video. That will definitely improve my setup already.
Thanks man! I've only used my phone so far. This will def help me tweak my vids!
That’s AMAZING, thank u (from France)👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much! This guy deserves more subs :)
really helpful, thanks man!

Thanks so much for making this vdo! PS. I didn't skip your ad for thank you back.
For the next time, post a text and tell us to download moment app, because after the video it will surely become paid

Thanks for your tips. Appreciate it.
Dude this is exactly what I was looking for!! I was actually trying to do what you did in your $300 camera video but with a smartphone and couldn’t get the same results. Thank you so much for this video. You’re my saviour 🙌
Brilliant, thank you so much!!!
GREAT CONTENT BRO!
so the key is lighting right?
And in the editing as well
Always!!
drum thump.
And key lights
The ability to use your hands to properly set up lights and finding the perfect exposure
Oh wow this is exactly what I needed as a person who exclusively shoots with my smartphone!
Great vid..bro..❤
Liked, subscribed, shared the video and wrote this comment.
Keep the great work up.
Awesome content man!! thumbs up
awesome lighting!
Watched a couple of your lighting videos now and they're great! Especially this one as I shoot with my smart phone. Taking your advice on lighting with this, thanks! Interested in how you framed everything up when using rear camera on a smart phone? Always makes my process longer and frustrating 😒
Thanks
Subbed 👊
Awesome tips! 💪
Amazing it helps a lot
Thanks very much
Learned a lot from you man. 👌🏼
Thanks Nigel!👍🏾
No joke! When the video started I was like...seriously ?! This guy is talking about hot to make video look good and his footage looks like THIS?!...I almost abandoned the video.

*I'm so gratefull for your video tutorial.*
You are the best UA-camr I'v ever seen.
Hello from Ukraine)
This is an awesome video Nigel. Its very helpful for those who dont have "x" amount of dollars to create video, because you show them how. I would be interested in seeing a video on how to create lighting for headshot. Such as a corporate headshot.
I love what you are doing
Great vid!
Very cool video!!!!
thank you so much for this nigel, i'm going to start my youtube via a phone too
What phone
Question, I only have two lights.. do I use the second as a backlight or a fill light? thank you for the awesome content
The green comes from the fluorescent light...which flicker ar different shutter speeds
Thanks so much!
One of the best channels in the game for this shit. Thanks
You sir are the boss.
Thank you!
The best video i have seen
Very nice. Thank you.
I really like how you have so much tech and expensive gear but we have the same phone 😂
Great video! What advice can you give for shooting outdoors on a smartphone?
Quality Video!
you the man
you are hero!
great video! Subscribed :)
Just be careful screwing in those big CFL bulbs, if you hold them by the glass they break easy, hold the base.
I have a set that are getting close to 5 years old now haha the bulbs are starting to age a bit😂
I made a similar video a couple of weeks back but didn’t post it because the moment app doesn’t seem to be free anymore. My video was more about the app than the techniques. I think they changed the price 😔
Oh! I found!!! Great.
This was really helpful because I shoot with my iPhone.
Thank you!!!
Thank you
Please.. make a video on how to shoot cinematic shots from phone.
This should be mandatory viewing for everyone who has to appear on TV via Zoom or other app. There's so many awful looking live interviews on the news and other shows where they do everything wrong.
Wow super encouraging
Thanks for posting! Question, once I download the lut what do I do?
Wow, amazing!
Could you make a video for when your light an subjet that is in front of an monitor and desktop. I've got a wall behind everything and I can't put any lights behind. It's rather difficult to get good lighting for my setup :(
Thank u very much.
I love you man
Dude, I really appreciate your videos; they are extremely helpful and thanks for all the effort you put into them!
