This is NOT a fix. It's deleting everything on your external hard drive and reformatting it or factory resetting it. You will lose everything if you do this.
Did you ever figure it out ? I have a usb with a lot of my music files that are a bit “irreplaceable” just with time though. And im stuck. If anyone could help I’d appreciate it. Thanks In Advance.

This is not a fix mate, how would you save a copy of the files inside the drive when you are not allowed to read it. You just made everyone who has no idea deleted/erased everything they have in the drive.

When i do this, it works temporarily but when I put the dashcam drive back in my dashcam camera and then take it out to put it in my computer to read again, it shows the same problem. The problem always reoccurs once the usb goes back in my dashcam. Do you know what I can do?
Hello Sir, I recently bought an SSD enclosed for external. I Initialized and created a partition on Windows. I used ExFAT format for use of both Mac and desktop. It worked perfectly in Windows but If I use it on my Mac It shows an error like in your video. I tried many times. during the Erase process was not completed it also showed error. Please help me.
Now It's working well in Windows but If I transfer files to Mac during the transfer file it shows the error "eject "DISK NAME" before disconnecting or turning it off".

You'll have to plug it into another device , that may require borrowing a friends but just make sure it can read your files AND save them before reformatting the card so the newly reformatted card can work with your computer again@@traeveonjenkins7432

@@TechandDesign exactly the problem. my friend WD HD had a type C adaper to USB.. then a USB wire to type C into the macbook. but it works on my PC computer. also, another question. since Im new to MAC. when i fully charge a MBP to 100% over night, when i start using it, i notice it stays at 100% longer, then if it was at just say (85% for example.) if it was at 85 or 93% with some usage , it would drop accordingly. is there a setting MACs do or something?

bro i connected my external ssd to my phone, transferred all the photos/videos. then i plugged in the ssd to my mac to check the photos from the ssd and it says not recognized wtf?? I dont want to delete everything again man wtff
by the way , you don’t need to connect your iphone to an Ssd to transfer things to your Mac. just use the photos app to import all your photos/videos to your Mac . Connect to your Mac your iphone with the cable. directly

Your best bet is to find an external source (alternative reader) that will read your files, back them up and reformat.

Disk Utility doesn't work on my WD 4TB. Even in Terminal I can't get it to work. Works in Win11 though, using Diskpart
format it on pc and than plug into your Mac and format it properly
