You could prepare the garlic by cutting a lot of it into smaller pieces, putting it in a jar and covering it with oil. So everytime you cook you just have to put a spoon full of the mixture into your pan/pot. Saves time and keeps the garlic fresh for longer.
I’m obsessed with vanlife cookery. I’m also a chef. I must say your cooking skills are very good. There’s a lot of clarity to your technique. I can see your love of classic foods. This is the best van life cooking content I’ve seen. I also appreciate how the van is organized and streamlined. It’s how just how much skill both of you have. Such thoughtful content .
It’s amazing how much you can cook with the bare minimum. I think it forces a person to be more creative. Thank you for sharing. I would also be interested in what art supplies you bring for a future video.
Looking forward to the cookbook! Thanks for showing the details of how your kitchen it set up. That helps me to pare down what I actually need in the van. I know everything takes 3 times as long to do in the van than it does in a house, so I really admire how well you have it working!
Hey Jerri! You should check out our “How we post a video every 4 days!” It explains our entire editing process! 👍 But as for music, Chad selects all the songs. 😁
WOW!!!! This was absolutely perfect for my inquiring mind!!! I will be saving this video for my future travel kitchen!!! If you can make so many delicious dishes with those utensils I know I can too!!! You are such an inspiration! Probably saved me a lot of time wondering what I should and shouldn't take! Thank you so much!!! One question! How does Chad make his coffee? That is a big NEED for me! Can't wait for the recipes!!! Thank you so much for doing this for us!!! I know it's a lot of extra work that you have taken on for us!!!!
Ahh we should have added in the coffee section! So most of the time I use instant coffee, but when I’m feeling ~fancy~ I’ll use a small French press I brought!
What a great video! I know I will refer back to it often as I am now beginning short trips out in my Ford Transit! You two have been an inspiration and source of amazing ideas!!! I CAN NOT wait for the recipe collection... Later friends!
I can't wait for the cookbook! Not sure if you were already considering this or if this would be too much extra work - but I think it'd be really interesting to include estimated costs of each recipe! I know costs of product vary between store/location/inflation, but it'd be cool to see!
Such a pleasant video! You both maximize the area you have! You make cooking look so easy and wonderful presentation! I vote Claire always gets the big steak! Cookbook sounds like an awesome idea. Safe travels
When I look up the words : 1) pragmatism = it says “Chad & Claire” 2) analytical = Chad & Claire 3) spacial orientation = Chad & Claire 4) critical thinkers = Chad & Claire 5) most awesome couple = Chad & Claire (I could go on and on, but I think you get my drift) Even this video was brilliantly planned 👏🏼 Always my BEST to you two 😀
Well done guys, stable B rolls, articulate hosts, well prepared video. I'm surprised at your food cost, how you can manage ~200 dollars for 2 people thru many states 😅 for an entire month. And yay for cook book 👍. :))
Thanks for noticing the stable shots😂😁It was weird sharing the cost of our food, but I guess we’re glad we did. We are both SO stoked for the cookbook!
YES QUEEN AND KING. WE LOVE THESE VIDEOS. It honestly gives me so much inspiration to do something similar. I just graduated from Albany and I don't want to be sucked into the corporate world, I rather venture out like you guys to "find myself" lol. Keep up the videos and may I suggest looking into a Pateron. I wouldn't mind donating a little to help feed the fam! After all, you have all of us, your internet friends! Best of luck!
Wow Jon! You really make us feel like royalty 👑 ✨😁 We actually have a patreon! It’s linked on our UA-cam home page!😁 We are all for going out to “find yourself!”😂 Thanks for your support Jon! Congrats on graduating! 🎉
God Bless You Both !, and Congratulations!, On Your Traveling Endeavors, Cook Book also Creativity! 😊🙌🌍🌲💥🎶 📓 It is Truly Enjoyable to watch your Vlogs!
Hi again kids 😊, as per usual very informative video. I look forward to your recipes, curious if you ever come across pick your own veggies or herbs ? Like at little local farms, roadside type ? I figure you don’t do much BBQ-ing 😊 , since charcoal etc is expensive and bulky, but wood bbq can be really good too 😊. Also I do a lot of marinades, for extra flavor and just cook when you want. Can help meats last longer, Italian dressing is one of my favs. Seems you have a great process going with making your water last longer, and still get a good amount of daily drinking water. I know from living off grid, you learn how precious water is. I’m also curious about gas prices, since your going through so many states. I’m sure it fluctuates a lot state to state, I hope rover gets good mileage 🙏.. love your knife holders, duct tape is so useful 😊. Ever tried using dry ice ? It lasts a good long time, but can be hard to find at times. How often are you able to take a shower ? Truck stops help with that I’m sure, but not all have showers. Do you use biodegradable soaps ? Like dish detergent, or shampoo. I fell in love with Aveda, it’s not cheap. But it’s concentrated , so it last a long time. And biodegradable, I’m talking shampoo and body wash. It’s amazing how much you learn far as not having a lot of space, and your doing great at meal planning etc. But you have to splurge on eating out once in a while ? Claire gets a break from cooking 😊, I’m not surprised in Ca food cost a lot more. Why I’m going off grid, growing your own is so much better, cheaper and know no pesticides no other hands etc have touched your food. I hope your planning somewhere fun, and a great meal for your birthdays 😊. Oh, I also wonder if your getting stickers etc to show how many towns you’ve been to ? I love seeing on other travelers how many places they’ve been, I’m still very jealous of your traveling and seeing so much of our beautiful country 😊. Ok, I’ve babbled enough 😁. Stay safe, take care. Can’t wait to see where your going next 😯
Hey Deborah! Wow you have lots of incredible ideas and thought! We have not ever tried wood or charcoal bbq or marinades, but we definitely want to! We used to use a biodegradable shampoo bar we ordered from an Australian brand which was Incredible! We actually recently treated ourselves to a nice dinner to celebrate 4 years together! 😁 not cooking or washing dishes was incredible! We have not collected any stickers as we traveled, but I guess our videos are our way of documenting where we have been. We’ll make sure to do something fun for our birthdays! 😁😂 Thanks for following along with us. It’s so nice to hear your perspective and personal thoughts.
Yum yum delicious 🤤 meals buddy u r lucky man 👨 for butter chicken 🍗 or chicken curry 🍛 marinate is very important and lots of onion 🧅 for great gravy then it’s gonna come out more flavor and Meals presentation is amazing I like it 👍👍
Size is probally a concern but have you explored getting a refillable 5 pound propane tank? It’ll probably be cheaper and refillable. It is bigger than those green tanks though. Just a thought!
Thank you for sharing again! Looking forward for the cookbook. I think It missed one step from the chicken with the onion and garlic to the cheese. How did it get that orange color? thank you
Great video, informative and fun! Can’t wait for your cookbook, will it be digital or print? I love how your categorized each section and the photos at the end this is helpful for planning my little camp kitchen. Would love to see how the kitchen cabinet was made maybe another video? What’s your upcoming plans? Keep enjoying your journeys and thanks for sharing, Namaste 🙏🏽 Julie
Hey Julie! The cookbook will be digital for now, unless it does well and people ask for a physical one. The cabinet is the thing i’m most proud of in the van! You can see some of the process in our van build series. We are planning on traveling full time internally at the end of July! 🎉😁 And we already have a new home for Rover as well.
@@ChadandClaire Congrats on Rover moving on as you two explore more internationally! I hope you take us along with you....curious which country you will start with first....Mexico/South America or Europe....hope you are watching how the virus spreads and which nations have the most vaccinated population as the virus has less of a playing field to mutate when there are more vaccinated folks...don't know f herd immunity is a reality do to antivaxxers where there is adequate supply and lack of supply in large areas of Asia and Africa. I know you two are bright and will have a safe plan. Can't wait to follow along. Namaste, Julie
Do you guys cook inside the van with the doors closed (when it’s raining, etc) if so, do you have a carbon monoxide detector? If so, has it even gone off? How well does the fan above help with that? Thanks
Thank you so much for sharing - I love all things van-related! How do you let your Platypus reservoir & tube dry out in the van? I have a Camelbak bladder that I need to rig upside down for several days before the tube will dry out, so I assumed it wouldn’t work well for a small space. I’m curious to hear how you let yours air out properly.
Exciting re cookbook! And like that you are using what you have. No sense bringing tiny scaled down things if you have the space. It makes cooking easier, actually. Do you use the slide out sides on the table much?
We actually do use the table a good amount. It’s there if you ever need a bit more room and once we clear the table we pretty much always push it away.
I said it before and I say it again - you cook better in the van than I do at home. Looking forward to the recipes/cook book.
You could prepare the garlic by cutting a lot of it into smaller pieces, putting it in a jar and covering it with oil. So everytime you cook you just have to put a spoon full of the mixture into your pan/pot. Saves time and keeps the garlic fresh for longer.
You two are the best!!! You don’t need much to be happy. I love your practical sense of living. Use what you have. Be safe.
I totally agree 🙌🏼💕 two amazing young people 💕

We definitely agree that by having less it forces and even fosters creativity. I’ll let Claire know you’d love to hear about her art supplies.
Thank you 💕 so much have a blessed day.

Thank you so much Megan! Thanks for supporting us throughout these past few months! 😁
So excited for the cookbook! I’d just love to know about the other expenses in van life for the both of you.
That’s a great idea! We have a video kinda covering it, but we definitely want to make another one.
You are suck a cool cook! The Indian chicken looked amazing! And your spice rack is really cool too

Looking forward to the cook book
Size is probally a concern but have you explored getting a refillable 5 pound propane tank? It’ll probably be cheaper and refillable. It is bigger than those green tanks though. Just a thought!
I have thought about it many many times. Would definitely have been cheaper in the long run. Just not sure where we would’ve put it.
New suscriptor! I love this channel
I’ve seen you cook some amazing meals in here, and here I am in a whole house never cooking lol. You’ve been inspiring me more and more!

How you deal with heat..111 heat??? Las Vegas kind of heat???
Just by your videos, your meal portions look like a lot of food. Do you only cook one large meal for the day?
We pretty much only eat two meals a day. Breakfast and dinner. Dinner is definitely much larger than breakfast.
Wow I don’t spend that much money on food a month in my home with three people. And we good lol
Eat good *
