This channel is just insane, and probably for many of us, the sewing content we’ve been looking for is just spot on. Every video is just so relevant :)
Oh my god how good this is! I know how to sew, so I'm not really here to learn.... But it's so refreshing with a proper instruction with ALL the details, not a watered down, simplified amateur version. And tips like how to make buttonholes without special machinery, very helpful! And I do love your style, the seditionaries t-shirt is what brought me here😊 keep up the good work 😊
This video is awesome. Breakneck speed, no music, no bs, perfect. I used the pattern, followed along (with lots of pause and rewind) and made the jeans. They turned out pretty good for a first crack but the next pair will definitely be better. Go to school on the first one and go to town on the second! Thank you very much for making this tutorial!
Wow finally someone else who actually knows how to make a real pair of jeans!!! I make my jeans the same way except that I make a zippered fly. I also have an industrial sewing machine and overlock. Very good job!!! Makes me want to make another pair.
I love this tutorial, thank you for sharing. I would like to emphasize the part where you said it might take a few tries to make pants you like. This is true, I'm on my fifth version of my pants pattern..
@@joanfauvet391 Yes, I was able to finally fix it by more or less copying other pants I had by taking them apart and then making the piece again by hand. The most important thing is that the top of the yoke is aligned with the pants. By redoing that piece I was able to finish them.
Hey man, i really appreciate the Video. I was looking for an instruction like this for a longer time, and that you even give the a4 Pattern with it is just amazing. I would like to start right away but i got left with 2 questions. First, i can't tell how tall you are, i really like the fit on you, but i am 1,90m so do you thing there will be any inconvenience with it? The other one is, i don't have a serge machine. I don't know if you mentioned it in the video, but i found kind of alternatives you can do with a normal machine (Zig Zag stich). So do you think the project is also doable with just a Stinger Sewing machine. Thanks for any replies!
Hey, for the lenght you can just add to the bottom hem of the pattern before you cut it, I'm a little over 180 and you can see how they fit me so you can adjust accordingly. And yes, you can just use the zigzag stitch. If you have a newer machine you should be able to do everything with it.
Grain line is the direction of the warp thread (in jeans from top to bottom). Ideally, you cut along one thread, then the fabric won't warp later. Selvedge is the edge created during weaving. Because the weft thread is placed around the last warp thread, the edge cannot fray. All other edges of the fabric must be secured, for example with a zigzag seam.
taking or adding to the outseam is fastest if you're just trying to learn to sew, if you want an actual good fitting pair you can look up "how to grade pants pattern"
And whats the difference between jeans A4, jeans arch and jeans letter? You say make sure you download the right one but then fail to say WHICH is the right one.
Its the paper size, letter and a4 are the names of standard size paper in north america and the rest of the world, arch d is an architetural size that you dont need to tape.
@@anbentha thanks for replying but I still don't understand, sorry. I know a4 is a paper size but which do i download for the jeans pattern? I'm in europe.
this is the most comprehensive tutorial on sewing jeans i've seen
great content, glad people in the comments agree

Just finished making some nice pants with this video, thank you!!!
Hey. Did you use the same back yoke from the pattern or did you make another? Because i think the video one is different from the pattern version
I cloned a pair of pants I already had, and just used the video for instructions so I’m not sure
@@panesinnI think it's different too, I was having trouble sewing the yoke on to the back panel
@@panesinn I sewed a pair with the pattern version and there is an issue with the back yoke do you agree ?

Hola, no encuentro los patrones completos, gracias
You are GOLD 🤌🏾
is the back yoke you use on the video different from the pattern??? because im having a lot of strugle with it.
I think he is, the yoke in the video look straight but the one I am using in the pattern is curved.
@@anynights8972 so what are we supposed to do now? Cut the back leg fitting or cut the back yoke?
How should i adjust the pattern for a 12-13 inch leg opening
hiii whats the size of waist in ur free pattern?
I have decided to make my own pants ... I just cant find a pair of the rack that fits me well, this has been an issue my whole adult life.
Please can you tell the name of the wood you standing on the where I can get some to buy. Thanks
It's a swivel plate or sometimes called a lazy susan bearing between two pieces of wood, you can buy the parts at home depot.
It's just one size, correct?
This video goes unreasonably hard
LEGIT!🤞🔥

I rlly don’t understand what grain line with Selvedge means no matter how much I hear it

Because the weft thread is placed around the last warp thread, the edge cannot fray. All other edges of the fabric must be secured, for example with a zigzag seam.
Is the "arch" version of the pattern printable on a large format printer?
yes, 24"x36"
could not have made the front pockets more difficult to understand
i’m making these but want a 36 inch waist, should i add an inch or two when i’m cutting out the pattern ?
for the sake of just like learning to sew, yeah add a bit to the pattern. It might not look quite right but it will fit fine.
Can you tell me what pair you are wearing, i’m looking at converse purcells and collabs of it but cant find anything
they were with Clot, the hair-on-leather ones.
@@anbentha yep found them. Im stealing your style (with love)
This moves at a breakneck pace… if I was a beginner sewist I would be so lost 😅
Try the video at 1/4 playback speed, turn on CC, the mute the sound. Then, its even easy enough for me to follow along.
Yes thank you😂
sorry was he ironing on his knee???
No, on a tailor's ham.
What kind of buttonhole machine do you own?
the one in the video is a singer 6700c, most machines can do it though just read their box/instructions.
yo what sewing machine do u use?
Pfaff 138-6 mainly, every machine is listed in the description.
Hi what size is the pattern?
around 34 I believe
what machine is this?? :)
