My diabetes story is typical for a carnivore. When diagnosed I threw the prescriptions away did the research and went low carb. I went back 5 months later and rocked their world. No more diabetes. The nursing team were overjoyed and I got the question "What have you done!" The nurses were great the doctors less so. No doctor has spoken to me since. A patient cured is a customer lost. The doctors are wrong, wrong, wrong and too arrogant and stupid to admit it ☹️

I reluctantly kicked my 38yr drinking tea habit all because of Dr AC describing the who why where and what of caffeine and now that I have over 6 weeks with no cup of good old English Breakfast .. 60 years ago when I was a child I had a rooster and hen bantam chickens that patrolled the garden rows all day long looking for bugs and worms. Whenever the rooster would find an extra juicy big bug or worm he would squawk and call the hen. I assume he knew she was laying the eggs and needed the most nutritious food. Nature is amazing!😊

+/- 50% of your bread are carbs.
One of the most enduring myths about carbohydrates is that they are “essential” in the diet. Even the most basic biochemistry book will tell you that dietary carbohydrate is not an essential macronutrient, unlike protein and fat.
As the Institute of Medicine (IOM) states year-after-year in their Dietary Reference Intake Manual: "The lower limit of dietary carbohydrate compatible with life apparently is zero, provided that adequate amounts of protein and fat are consumed."
The key point is that you do not need to consume carbohydrates because your body can synthesize all the glucose your body needs to carry out the biological process of growth and metabolism. The liver is able to perform this function in a process known as gluconeogenesis.
Almonds contain cyanide, 400 to 800 grams of almonds is enough to kill the average person.
Cyanide is a rapidly acting substance that is traditionally known as a poison. Hydrogen cyanide was first isolated from Prussian blue dye in 1786, and cyanide first extracted from almonds around 1800. Cyanide can exist as a gas, hydrogen cyanide, a salt, potassium cyanide.

Hi Dr Chaffee! Love your view on EVERYTHING 🤓
Question: Do you think that eating animal protein and fat together AND IF YOU‘RE STILL interested in eating from time to time a „Keto“ meal of low carb veggies and fruits - that it‘s VERY IMPORTANT TO OMIT THE FAT WITH THESE „KETO“ type meals?? I‘ve heard this a few times on other Low Carb interviews, that eating carnivore should be strictly carnivore and eating keto strictly keto - but when eating more carbs reduce or totally omit the fat content. I have no idea what that would look like, but I would imagine it means protein and veggie, berries without cream 😔

    • @AdrianKGledhill

@@AdrianKGledhill Thanks Adrian, that makes sense. I find myself invited to events (work or family) and really almost forced to eat „at least“ vegetables with my meat. The other aspect is that I heard having a little dairy, like cream or cheese, will bind to any oxalates from the plants to help eliminate them. That‘s where it gets tricky, low fat dairy? Or just eat the meat!

Sometimes our bodies go woohoooo! Finally, some bioavailable nutrition! Finally some actual food (as it doesn’t recognize the processed foods we eat). And it sucks it all up and heals your metabolism. This puts you in a great position for weight loss. Another view: Sometimes it’s too much dairy. Sometimes too much fat. But rest assured, the nourishment you’re giving your body is very healing and your body loves it. Another view: how many times a day are you eating? You’re in a better position metabolically if you eat 2-3 meals and don’t snack.

I don't understand how ketones are the primary fuel and glucose is the back up fuel? After eating glucose my blood glucose levels rise then fall and after a protein rich meal gluconeogenesis will do the same albeit much more slowly and to lesser extent, after the fact we fall back on fat and ketogenesis increases. We have so much body fat there's not really a situation where we can run out of (potential) ketones and have to fall back on glucose? I don't currently believe either is preferred as the body will readily use both if fed both. The main difference I see is that you have to restrict one (glucose) to get the other (ketones) in appreciable amounts, yet you don't have to restrict ketones to use glucose, apart from perhaps in the context of reducing higher fats in the blood to improve glucose tolerance.

or even a cold, I develop a very strong aversion to red meats and strong cravings to any plant foods.
Why at times of such a need for the most nutritious foods, the body totally rejects them and craves other less nutritious foods? What is the biological mechanism for that?

Even the Inuit ate wild berries when in season and seaweed. • @jetryan624
      @jetryan624 9 днів тому

@@KuoxsrYes, you are spot on. If someone has been eating a diet that is high in oxalates = High quantities of plants and fruits, nuts, grains, alternative grain and nut milks and flours, plus seeds, it's significantly contributes to the inflammatory response in the body; and has been found to create significant mental Health stress without the person being aware that the cause can be connected to the food that they are eating. And oxalates are a significant toxin in most but not all plants and fruits, especially around the seed aspect. The oxalate in those foods bind with calcium in the body and actually 80% of all kidney stones are calcium oxalate. In almost all nuts with the exception of macadamia nuts, and all seeds and grains that are whole grains. So if there is a sudden switch there could be something called oxalate dumping into the bloodstream when the body is trying to clean itself out from all the places where our body has hidden or stored the oxalates to keep them from poisoning us. But too much is too much at once, so people can find that there are shifts in their mental health symptoms and usually continue to improve on Carnivore as the oxalates get cleared out. But too much at once can make you very sick and send you to the hospital. So it is advisable to slowly make the change to carnivore or Lion Diet slowly and carefully starting with the foods highest in oxalates and working your way down to the lowest oxalate level you can. Meat does not have oxalates animal based diet does not have oxalates, so your body's housekeeping system is trying to clean itself out. And that is why it's so important to do the change slowly, decreasing the highest oxalate foods first, working your way down so you slowly get oxalates out of your diet and carefully over time. Changing to Carnivore over longer time frame. Most people have never heard of oxalates and do not know the foods that are low oxalate, medium oxalate, high oxalate to very very high oxalate. So they don't understand this and when they realize that they need to get rid of oxalates they tend to try and get rid of it all at once and that's a mistake. Add canned supper very severe oxalate dumping symptoms. Doing it slowly = changing to carnivore or lion diet carefully and slowly; so you don't experience the severity of oxalate dumping anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months into the carnivore or lion diet depending on how much oxalate you consumed before.

Maybe living in cities is why they don't kill their own meat, although I believe there are cities now where people are killing cats and dogs to eat.
The times they are a changing!

A hypercarnivore is an animal which has a diet that is more than 70% meat, either via active predation or by scavenging.
