I think it's just that they are looking smarter, Instead of sloping, they are marching. I spent many hours marching in an army band where 120 was the absolute minimum.

Best i have ever seen the Household bands march,they have picked up the pace. Is this why? They usually slope on by.
Ricky: I would guess a recording illusion. The Guards as well as all Infantry units excepting the Rifles march at 120 paces per minute. Fullstop!
