A salute to all members of the Royal Marines bands. Excellent. Enjoyed seeing the Royal Marines band during a visit to Great Britain several years ago. A great experience. Thanks to all the men and women involved in the bands. Regards from Ontario, Canada
Many thanks for the kind compliments, Audrey Poulter I suppose I have a better knowledge than most, and I'm cheating a bit, and that's because I spent 12 years in various RM Bands, in the Corps of Drums, AND I was in one of the largest Massed Bands the Royal Marines ever created ....... 300 Musicians & Drummers for the Tercentenary of the Royal Marines in 1964 on Horseguards Parade. The sound was awesome and the whole performance was awe-inspiring ! SuperNutkin
Can’t beat the General Mitchell march! Glad to see the Marines play it. I love knowing that the country our brothers across the pond are from the Marines band represents both the Marines and the Navy making their task even more special. From America!
Great March (General Mitchell) ........ Great Military Band (The Band of HM Royal Marines) ........ ........ In fact, here's a fine example of how the March "General Mitchell" should be played. When the Massed Bands move onto Horseguards Parade, they eventually split into four bands, going in different / opposite directions, but yet the musical sound was still superb, even with the four separate bands and their four separate echoes bouncing all around the Parade Ground tempting them to get out of step ? Nah. Never, they're Royal Marines ! SuperNutkin
What more can be said about perfection? And that is what they are. Why is there never any mention of the drum majors? And do the drummers wearing the animal skins play their drums? I never actually see the mallets hit the drum head.

No, they just wave them around like cheerleaders!
@@BBBBD147 Fibber.😃🙉
the tenor drummers play when they're at horse guards performing but to be honest i'm not sure why they don't play when marching
Did you not watch the video? You can see them playing. The general shakiness of the video just makes it a bit harder to see.
@@colorona8456 mate all they do is swing the mallets that's it

England. Great Carp anglers and great military bands. I hope it won't become a third world country
With Brexit, no chance!
