Bob, thanks for showing the orientation of the seat and spring, at @3:50, @5:15 !! I wish the Delta brand parts would show a picture of which side contacts the ball. Previously I had put it in backwards, and in a year the thin walls flared out and ripped apart, thus the water could not be shut off entirely. My plumbing supply experts hooked me up with some thick silicone grease to help the spring and seat stay in place while I put the other one in, and reassemble the ball and closing cover.
Hello Bob i have my Purge & seat for about 10 years i had situtaion on Delta two handle shower body they where sitting far back from the tile wall. delta cartridge had extension on it the screwdriver couldn't make it sit right and my finger also couldn't make it hold that's when i used Purge &seat for first time now i alway use it
I'm living in the prehistoric ages Walter, I just discovered this tool this past summer. I love it! Thanks for taking a look, much appreciated. Regards, Bob.
Installing these in a sink (where washers and springs are vertical) is FAR, FAR easier than installing in a two knob shower, as those install horizontally. Getting the spring into the hole takes a few attempts, but then the washer-cup is close to impossible. I used a small screwdriver. But first I slid a DEEP WELL 1/4" socket over the screwdriver blade, all way up to handle. Then I slid on the washer, followed by the spring ...be sure to get those two in right direction. With spring, washer, and socket on screwdriver blade (spring and washer near the end) I positioned the very end of screwdriver in middle of hole where washers and spring go....all way to back. Then I slid the socket down to washer, and with a little side to side motion while pressing on the socket, the washer slid into the hole!.... That's it. I had my wife hold a flashlight from behind me and used a small blade screwdriver about 6"-8" long...the longer the easier.......BTW I found one website selling the tool ...that actually had one, but for $39+ship+tax, AND 4 days before order was filled. I think this tool is obsolete by now.
@@earnieb5318 well, the suggested socket didn't fit on my screwdriver, but after trying an assortment of things I finally was successful with a 7mm 3/8 drive socket fitted over a drill bit.
They use to sell it on Amazon but it's no longer available. The only product that I see on Amazon currently is thishttps: //amzn.to/2KeQZiL You may want to try here as well:bit.ly/2r04BWp

EXACTLY!! Yes, thank you.
Terrific, Bob ~ you are super!
Hey Bob, I like the Purge N Set tool. Also your videos are great and very helpful. Good to put in the basic plumbing bag.
I love it, Harry I never knew they existed until this past summer. Still living in the past I guess, thanks for checking it out. Regards, Bob.
Thanks Bob. I have used a long, small Allen wrench for many years. I'll have to try this out if I can find a decent deal on it.
I actually used a dental pick to poke those babies out! The tool works pretty well. Thanks for commenting. Regards, Bob.

Nice, that little gadget works OK.
I. Just take a white bic pen apart, cut the white part to use to set seal and the ink part to drop in seat and spring
Not available anymore on Amazon. Know any place else?

Bob, the tool is no longer available on amazon. What is an alternative?
A dental pick! Reach in and remove both the spring and seat.amzn.to/42DORtu
Great video. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for checking out the video. Regards, Bob.
Have you found over the years that this tool works on other brands?
I've never tried it on other brands! Main use is on Delta deck faucets.
Three ones I hate are the seats that are wider at the bottom
Can't seem to find it anymore...
My amazon link says it's "Not Available"?
Bob do you know where I can get this tool?

Where can I order the Delta Seat tool
bit.ly/2Ul7mSK. They only sell to professional plumbers!
Guess no longer available. How much was it ?
Do it work on tub faucet
It actually does!
Just a note that this is now $24.95 plus $9.99 shipping
Ouch! That's crazy!
Vacuuming the water out of the faucet body makes it a little easier ....of course us plumbers never bother LOL
I use a straw! LOL!
