  • Look east of Indianapolis Indiana for some space, but... even though the space is there it may be difficult to find a lot of it. A person's definition of "space" could be very different from another's. Many I've worked with don't necessarily want tons and tons of acres. Honestly, you have to get pretty far outside of Indianapolis to find that at a more reasonable cost. This is true for just about all of Indiana. But, having a little more space around your own house might be what you're looking for. A little more space might be half an acre or an acre. You can find that in Indianapolis but what if you want to live outside of the city? How can you be close to Indianapolis and get that space? Hancock County to the east of Indianapolis could be a place to put on your radar. Hancock County has several places that might work... McCordsville, Fortville, Greenfield, and New Palestine. However, even though Hancock County is the least populated county with less than 100,000 people around Indianapolis it can be surprising that it might be tough to find a place with "space". We'll get into some detail in this video.

Nice! I'm originally from Evansville. The new I69 sure makes it much easier to get to and from.

    Hey Jason.
I spoke with you a while ago. I forgot to ask you....
I know you have a video on it... but I can't find it...
Just wondering how many tornados does indy metro get on average a year? And about what size are they?
    Thanks Jason.
Maybe you should do a video about cool future developments around the metro! That would be cool...
Like the new indy11 stadium... signia hotel.. revamp of circle centre mall... circle center monument.. mccord square.. just to name a few

Hey! I believe the average for Indiana is just over 20 tornadoes a year. Most are quite small and occur in rural areas. I do have a severe weather video. You might check in the playlist "questions about living in indianapolis". Good ideas about the future videos. I'll definitely look into doing those.

Yes. For Indiana... but wondering about Indianapolis metro itself. From a locals perspective.
      Thanks Jason.

Pretty rare. They've certainly happened and I know I've been in or around severe storms. But, I've lived in Indiana for 50 years and I've never seen a tornado with my own eyes.@@user-rg5iq8br5o

What do you know about Lafayette and West Lafayette, Indiana? Any info appreciated. Thank you

Would recommend West Lafayette over Lafayette, honestly better amenities in the city. If there is anything specific you would like to know to help me narrow it, I can tell you more.
